Their build up to the Kildare game was a disaster as a result and there wasn't a man, woman or child outside of the Royal County that didn't have a smile on their face as they saw Kildare give them a footballing lesson.
A serious rethink on ground security is needed now. Fans should not be allowed onto the pitch. The ref made a mistake but what good is attacking him going to do. The game should be replayed but as we all know its not going to be. Thierry henry etc..... The gaa is a disgrace in general the lack of control at that game brought home the fact.

The referee has a very hard job to do and does not deserve that treatment The GAA should act decisive and suspend Louth from competitive action for rest of championship and an heavy fine. this is the only way to stop the assault of officals who give their spare time to officiate all games from u10 rite through to senior. Im a club referee in Dublin for 8 years and I still love it. Ive made mistakes in matches and had players mentors and supporters abusing me both verbal and minor physical.

Fact is the umpires messed up just as much as sludden by being inept.

If your in Hill 16 people from the back will be pushing to get to the front, the whole crowd will then be pushed against the fence, crushing people, and then people will try climb the fence and some will fall back down on top of the people when they cant climb the fence, again crushing people beneath.

The referee has a very hard job to do and does not deserve that treatment The GAA should act decisive and suspend Louth from competitive action for rest of championship and an heavy fine. this is the only way to stop the assault of officals who give their spare time to officiate all games from u10 rite through to senior. Im a club referee in Dublin for 8 years and I still love it. Ive made mistakes in matches and had players mentors and supporters abusing me both verbal and minor physical.

They indicate to the referee whether a shot was: wide (spread both arms), a 45 m kick (raise one arm), a point (wave white flag), square ball (cross arms) or a goal (wave green flag). therefore the umpire SHOULD have crossed his arms to indicate a squareball,if he did what he was supposed to have done, there would be non of this messing going on! Fact is the umpires messed up just as much as sludden by being inept.

People, mostly the guys doing analysis are constantly praising it and saying it should be an olympic game, constantly. I know it is an Irish sport, I am from Ireland. What a shame, i think the whole country (except meath!) wanted louth to win. However, the umpire didnt raise the green flag, until he was told to by the ref. When the ref went to the umpire, he just told him to raise the flag, didnt ask the umpire what he seen. 100% fault of the ref for this incident. Cant blame the meath players

I feel sorry for the Louth players, because of them thugs Louth now has a bad name. If you look at the video, the referee is STILL giving out yellow cards AFTER the match was over!! And the players were the ones protecting the ref from the thugs, and well after that the Gardai come over. Meath did not deserve to win the match. Joe Sheridan carried the ball over the line, threw the ball CLEARLY and even if the ref didn't want to count all that, it was in the box. I'm from Kildare.

If your in Hill 16 people from the back will be pushing to get to the front, the whole crowd will then be pushed against the fence, crushing people, and then people will try climb the fence and some will fall back down on top of the people when they cant climb the fence, again crushing people beneath.
