However, for me as a Christian I try to see myself in everyone, and I remind myself people loved me at my worst (and it was BAD), so I try to view people in that light. I'm not always successful, but I'm getting better. God and Jesus do not expect me to be perfect, they expect me to be human.

When my fiance is raging about something or being hateful, my first instinct is to defend myself or lash out with the same intensity as he has. When I do react it feels real good, but when things calm down, I feel real bad for what I said or did. Sometimes later on I can feel some false pride for something clever I said, but in the end that feels bad too, because I hurt someone.

@buttlunch2 i don't even fully consider myself a satanist i'm more of an auto-deist and i just like the baphomet/goat related imagery to represent my personality just like with any animal can be used to represent man's attitude. and i like the philosophy of being my own god. i'm still fine with other's religions as long as they do infringe upon mine.

If it is read properly and understood properly, the new testament teaches only love, peace and forgiveness. It teaches humility, selflessness, anything which will help us in the next life. Personally it's the most beautiful book, and no i'm not an extremist in any way - just be careful how you read it and try to see the real message it's giving :)

@VitoPossilipo - 1 of 2 Christians, true Chrisitans, will not lie. One of the challenges as a Christian is to love thy enemy, but do not confuse that with "like" our enemy. However, for me as a Christian I try to see myself in everyone, and I remind myself people loved me at my worst (and it was BAD), so I try to view people in that light. I'm not always successful, but I'm getting better. God and Jesus do not expect me to be perfect, they expect me to be human.

I don't like getting out of bed early in the morning, I don't like exercising, I don't always like eating healthy while others eat junk, I don't always like returning the extra change back I get at the store, etc ..., but after I have done the right thing I ALWAYS feel better about myself and my choices and my self esteem is stronger.

When my fiance is raging about something or being hateful, my first instinct is to defend myself or lash out with the same intensity as he has. When I do react it feels real good, but when things calm down, I feel real bad for what I said or did. Sometimes later on I can feel some false pride for something clever I said, but in the end that feels bad too, because I hurt someone.

First, why waste energy on someone who wants to hurt me by hurting them. Hate and violence only breed more hate and violence, so it never ends. The best thing to do is leave the situation immediately especially if they want to cause bodily harm to me. When someone is being loving to me while I'm hateful, it makes me not want to be hateful.

I like this philosophy in helping someone to be a stronger person in a cruel world, and not being a victim in life, but as a female i find the philosophy of hitting someone back who tries to attack you so difficult as i get scared if i do that, they'd get more angry n hit me back harder if that person is stronger.
