Nah mate Jimi didnt play SSB at IOW and Foxy Lady IOW is completly different Jimi wore a neck choker at IOW and no ballons at IOW.

@carlsfenderbender carlsfenderbender is right. This is about six weeks before IOW. But, the shirt (top?) is the same- I think it's called the 'butterfly shirt' by Hendrix old-schoolers. This is awesome! Thanks for uploading it!

@LucasMarquesGHC Yeah, he actually wore this costume a few times in 1970. Seattle, Ventura, Atlanta, here and the Isle of Wight. Experience Hendrix supposedly has the masters of this footage and is hanging on to it, no doubt for maximum exploitation, er, I mean, enjoyment........

@jimistreets He wore it at the San Diego Sports Arena in '70 too. I've heard it referred to as the Butterfly Outfit. Glad someone posted this, for years all we got to hear was Red House from Randall's Island.

@rhythmrancher I got to see this outfit at the Experience Music Project. I have the soundboard recording of this show and Red House really stands out as a gem from an otherwise kinda raggedy show. That said, a raggedy Jimi was still better than anything else!

No it is not the Isle of Wight. This is New York Pop at Randall's Island, New York. If I'm not mistaken. FYI Jimi wore the same shirt at Atlanta, Randall's, and the Isle of Wight.

Annd he didn't wear a headband at the Isle of Wight, btw.

Another song from this gig was released on an official album (the one with the impressionist looking painting of him on the cover), but I forget which.
