It's important, as sboschert says, to listen to people with experience driving EVs. So much has been written about this so-called "range anxiety" and how it's a barrier to selling mass numbers of EVs, but if the journalists talked to the people who have been driving these cars for the better part of a decade, they'd realize that range anxiety exists only in the minds of those who haven't driven the cars. Anyone who has experienced EVs for any length of time has no such anxiety.
Three of these guys drive electric vehicles (EVs) with around a 100-mile range between charges (the E-Mini and the RAV4-EV) and the fourth has a Tesla that goes around 240 miles between charges. So when Marc Geller says people may discover that even a 60- to 70-mile EV could meet many people's needs, he's speaking from experience. I too have found that the 100-mile range in our Toyota RAV4-EV has been plenty for 8 years and 79,000 miles.
I can confirm what @sunpwrd and @sboschert have said. As you drive an EV more and more, you stop worrying about range.
