  • calm down charlie brown...

  • All that matters is if he can defend himself. If he can, he's doing it right.

  • He's way to tense, he's surely better in real fight that I'll never be but here it's not right.

The sil lim tao is almost yoga it's focusing on your movments and get good habits to have a good wing chun no showing muscles and beeing all nervous...

  • That's not Ip Man's version..Which style is that ?

  • @TheDark2042 Every sifu has different linages...

  • pan nam me thinks??

  • havnt seen anything this different from yip man. There r many diff ways 2 do siu lim tau but this is interesting. Not 4 me but interesting.

  • There are many different styles of Wing Chun.

Ip Man's version was the best IF I remember correctly.

In theory I think there was 3 to start with, one Soft, Medium and then a Hard version, taught from 3 Grand Masters whom in turn learned from the Source (the nun or something like that)...

The info is on Google, so its there somewhere...

I want to learn ALL Wing Chun styles, who gives a crap which is better-worse just as long as you kick ass...

  • @NecroViolator Chinese martial arts = confusian on spirit, confucious say balance of both, balance of both = both soft and hard, soft and hard = medium. therefore, confucious say YOU LEARN MEDIUM

  • I begin in Wing Chun and I am very impressive on how your moves of Siu Kim Tao is different of Siu Lim Tao moves that I have learnt, very very different !

  • i tot Siu Nim Tau was about about Lop Nim -- to establish an idea in the mind. the force of an idea; or mind/intent force, where nim is the same idea/intent as in nim tau. so it was talking about the intention rather than force.

念頭不正,終生不正 - If your intention is wrong , your whole life is wrong.

  • thank you master wong...kmp3000 soft but not weak strong but not hard he does just that if u watch closely but i dont know it might b "too hard" for you lol

  • Too hard. Movements should be softer and slow.

  • @kmp3000

I think what Master Wong demonstrates here is combining yin (the soft) and yang (the hard) within the movements and integrating the flow of the chi within the movements too. My wingchun style is the same with Master Wong's. Hard and explosive. According to my master, mainland china's wingchun is most hard, while Hongkong's is soft.

  • well, form can be different cause wing chun shouldn't be fixed in only 1 or 2 form, in a sense if others critical movement can infuse and knock down opponent in lesser period, that's a good wing chun, but one important things is wing chun suppose to be using inner strength and should be soft ,it is not meant to be hardcore stuff and using only the external strength, this is what my master told me most of the times, he may be not the best master from all,but he's lesson makes sense

  • Awesome!!

  • internal muscle , chi internal power and baldie head i luv him

  • mster wong is doing it wrong !!

  • @TheG2Z On what do you base this assertion?

  • @DrSpooglemon it's really different.. i'm sure it's not from the Yip Man Lineage

  • @TheG2Z I do not recall Mr Wong claiming it was...

  • it resembles the Augustine fong lineage but the movements and placement is off a bit.

  • Wow, definitely different from all the other siu lim tao forms. I know there's a lot I would comment on but if this is his version of the form, that's totally fine! Wing Chun is a very political kung fu. So if it works, it's valid! What I'm really curious about is who taught Master Wong (his lineage)? Those who mentioned that this form is close to the original form, is there any solid evidence on this? (My second question should hopefully answer my first question)

  • what power, grace and pure skill.

how anyone can criticise this mans performance is just jealous.

    im glad he teaches us.

at least he has good kung fu!

  • the prob is that everyone is use to seeing Ip Man WC. Ip Man learned from different sources of WC and then modified/simplified his version from the original/older branches. it is even noted that he taught differently over the years and if a student already possessed skills he would modify their training to complement what they already knew. Ip Man was an outstanding martial artist plus he had a degree in physics. Get a clue, research, grow up....

  • @SijoJay well said bro!!!

  • people This form is actually closer to the original Siu nim tao . ip mans form is different because dr leung jan simplified the form after learning it from leung yee tai from the red boat opera.

Master Wongs form is older. Respect MON! Learn both stiff mon

  • That's not sil lum tao i never seeen it done that way.

  • all i noticed that was the same was the ending when he closed his form xD epic though hes doing more than what i do in my class

  • What we can say is this is defiantly not Ip Man WC.Please let us know what family of WC it is

  • this is very different from ALL other sil lim tao forms i've ever seen

  • Lol @ Wong Chun haha.

In my experience, the only time you ever see two siu lim tau forms the same, is watching two students from the same class perform it. From my experience trying out numerous wing chun dojos, and watching many videos, there are so many different variations on this form, although you can still see the core components, and concepts within them all. This one seems to emphasize on the Qigong element a bit more, and seems to be mostly for wrist strengthening, and developing power.

  • @TheMartialartsJedi that mena it's wong wing chun lol

  • this is waaaaaayyyyyy different from what we was taught with the forms....

  • @dizbeturtle true I learnt wing chun until the last form and I have no idea what he is doing. some parts are almost the same but I learnt it differently from master leung ting in hk who is one of ip mans students.

  • @Kennefo i am hella confused when ever i watch this... i wonder who his teacher was...

  • Master Wong Help me . get my old body in track.

  • omg, from what i learnt from my master, i am totally mixed up

  • u all stupid this is the 3rd form

the other video of yip man sil lim tao was the first form

go study wing cun b4 saying rubbish!

  • @forbidden360

Perhaps YOU should study wing chun before mouthing off. This is CLEARLY a siu lim tao variation, and is not at all related to the Biu Tze form, the 3rd form in the system. Baka..

  • you cant top the best. Master wong system is all i study every day. for life

  • Wow this is so different from Yip Man's original Sil Lim Tao.

  • @XXRenegadePandaXX yip mans wasn't the original form lol

  • wow a little different from my sil lim tao but good form

  • he does partly piensat taolu way!

  • that's not the traditional way you do the Sil Lum Tao , my grandfather teaches the traditional way to me , it's a little different from your system.

  • if master wong entered an mma tournament or ufc and pwned he would get so many students

  • @ChristopherYoungKim He does not take trash like that to train with him. Most UFC and MMA fans are just trash. Besides, you can't do wing chun with rules.

  • i tought that ahaha

  • I think it's a Vietnamese style wingchun, it looks as if he's putting chops into the form.

    Pretty awesome!

I'm Brit and practice wingchun in Taiwan with a good teacher LO MAN KAM.

    His videos are brilliant.

Master Wong would fuck you up.

  • @cornwallgeezer No no, it's not Vietnamese Sil lim tao. Absolutely not, but it's nice huh ? Amazing 'Chi flow'!

  • i love this

  • ok. I practice Sifu Gary Lam wing chun...this is the most interesting version of "siu nim tao" I've ever seen. It looks like an odd mixture of Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu, and Bu Tze ....very interesting.

  • Outstanding Breathing!

  • 不是传统咏春小念头,这位大师好像是加了硬气功在里面,难道是少林咏春?

C'est pas du WingChun classique! Il est resemble qu'il a ajouté un sort de YinQiGong. C'est pas de ShaoLin WingChun?

  • @lionjohn2004

This is similar to a mixed version that I learned while I was a kid in HK. My teacher had a modified wing chun style that combined Tai Chi. But first I learned the traditional Wing Chun and the sticky hands before I advanced to the nontraditional techniques.

  • Very true. I like watching the other variations myself. I wish there were more learning and watching between groups than arguing.

  • 永春可是鼎鼎大名的拳法哪!相反的,这套全发原值逾五梅师太,福建,福州。

  • Very similar, yet very different from the form my Sifu taught me. I do own this DVD however and it is very useful

  • What Lineage of wing chun is it?

  • 高手!我非常喜欢你的功夫!自学能学会吗?

  • A very different take on the first form, would like to know those applications.

  • Very good, it looks to me like pan nam wing chun.

  • What branch of Wing Chun is this? as mentioned already his forms are very diff from Yip mans or others I have seen.

  • Did his with attitude. It's different from most Siu Lim Tau - Siu Nim Toa or however you spell it, but it is very effective. Look at more of his vids and you will see that he adds the kali hand drills to his Wing chun.

  • also i am learning and i am completly bewildrerd looks good but what is correct I dont know.

  • That sure is different from what I learn. I've seen smaller differences in other video's as well, but this looks very different from for instance Yip Man's Siu Lim Tao. Interesting...

  • The order and speed is different but al moves are there,, bong sau, lap sau,, tan sau(here very quick, in the other form very slow)

  • hmm, that sil lim tao is way different than what i do....seems pretty good.

  • I like how the wind sounds so fierce.

  • good quality footage. great double angle shot idea.
