  • I watched the entire playthrough thanks man for playing this and show it to all of us.

  • I see... Anyways, I didn't like PS3. It was so "unfitted"; Like a Kingdom with their crusaders and a Spaceship! Or a poor developed town and a Cave filled with robots. The PS4 is maybe the true "continue" of PS2.

  • @EnemyCrow

Actually, you are not right...PS3 may not have a direct tie-in with other series, but It't still a part of them. You just need to know more=)

  • From my understanding, there's no way out of getting a massive beat-down at the end of this game.

  • @TheRealThreeP Pretty sure your guys win the fight. That's what those moron Earthlings get for threatening guys WITH THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPONS IN THE UNIVERSE WITH DEATH. Fuck, our species got EXTREMELY retarded in its final days, at least according to the predictions in this game. I hate this game, but this ending is fucking AWESOME.

  • What a dissapointing ending =S

  • This game was good, but it got way too tedious with the mazes near the end.

  • @dnj86 O.o You mean the whole game...

  • Man...that was one hell of an ending.

  • all your base are belong to us.

  • I just played this game myself thanks to xbox 360's sonic ultimate genesis collection. I found an interesting take googling the meaning of the storyline saying that it has more to do with the harm communism creates in a society more so than the technology aspect. I would post the link but for whatever reason you can't do that here...

  • "We who destroyed Palm?" Man is the most dangerous animal afterall lol! :D

  • Isn't Chaz from PS4 descended from Rolf? I'm pretty sure that a group that has migid and a neigun plus having slashed through countless robots, dragons, and Dark Force could take care of a few earthlings. There isn't anyway they would be a match for Profound Darkness, however. Wasn't Wren (PS4) built a couple years after this event?

  • @jaymthegenius Wren appears in PS3

  • @EnemyCrow Different Wren. His Japanese name is Searren. Wren from PS4 is actually named Forren in Japan. I'd thought the same thing when I first played PS4.

  • @EnemyCrow Also, PS3's Searren is strictly for combat and transportation. PS4's Forren can fight (DAMN well, I might add), but his main purpose is overseeing the weather conditions for the ENTIRE FUCKING ALGO STAR SYSTEM. Granted, it's only 2 planets most of the time (Since Palm/Parma/Palma was destroyed in the very game whose ending we're commenting on and Rykros only enters the galaxy every millenium), but that's still a damn impressive job.

  • @Jazzypants2007 I think they should be the same guy. Also... I think Wren's age is 998 at PS4. It could explain why is he so Old.

  • @EnemyCrow Another thing that made me realize they weren't the same guy is that, if I'm not mistaken, PS3 and 4 BOTH take place 1,000 years after PS2 (IE, they take place at roughly around the same time as each other). Someone with more knowledge on this please feel free to fill in the gaps/correct any mistakes I made.

  • @jaymthegenius

Chaz is not a descendant of Rolf...anyway, there is no proof, even if it is true.

  • Ah, very epic. Btw when i was fighting the dark force, i failed twice... i almost threw my psp on the wall. Q_Q

  • One of the best video game endings ever. And they never even revealed the outcome...

  • Assuming that Phantasy Star 3 takes place right after this one, its lack of advancement makes sense. Algol's technology level went from the 2300s to the 1600s (pre-industrial, back to kings again), and people forgot the advancements the Mother Brain provided, even the very spaceship they were on. It was not until Phantasy Star 4 that we saw that technology level again.

TL;DR The worlds went back almost 1,000 years. And Phantasy Star 3 is in that aftermath.

  • @VideoWizard2006 the current accepted theory is that PS3 takes place before PS2, with the Aron ending (the one where they meet the earthlings?) being canon. The earthlings Aron meets end up being corrupted by the dark force being brought to their galaxy, and they are the ones that kill Rolf and the others in PS2.

  • @Rahavin "Current accepted theory". The canon is that PS3 starts when Palm is destroyed during PS2. PS3 entirely takes place in the spaceships of the people fleeing before Palm is destroyed, an act that happens in PS2.

  • Now that i'm reading all this... this game was like a premonition of things to come to our planet... and to ourselves... pretty deep... it's a shame I was too immature to continue playing this game when I had it... then again had i beaten it would i have understood the true moral of the story?

  • if i had all the right stuff. i would totally dub this scene.

  • The music and situation makes this ending epic and sad

  • Comparing this ending with the PS2 version, I think this wins especially after seeing the different close ups of ROLF. The one in the PS2 version makes me laugh.

Imagine how players from 1989 felt when they saw this ending. Defeat mother brain & then find earthmen. Player must be going WTF? And just when another fight occurs u instead see the cast of characters. For 1989, this must've been kick ass. Then instead of a typical happy ending you were left to wonder for yourself what happened.

'You have shown me the ugliness of continued existence.'

That's one hell of a death quote, I always thought.

  • @StanMan2008 - Agreed.

This is my favorite Phantasy Star game. I remember beating it back in, oh jeez, 1990? After playing it for a full year (don't judge; I was 11 and had time restrictions for video games), I was so pumped to finally see the ending. My reaction was, "WHAAAAAAAAT?" Still, none of the other PS games were near as challenging as this one, which makes it my favorite.

  • WOW!! gooooood play through! This is arguably one the hardest RPGs...i u made look like childs play! LOL! good job man! :-)

  • EPIC ENDING! I miss playing this game.

  • The tone of the ending music sounds to me like Rolf and the others got killed by the earthmen.

  • They killed each other. It's assumed that the ship was destroyed by Rolf's Megiddo, thus killing the party and the Earth people.

  • @SBaby YEAH, that's how I took this ending as well. It just seemed like both sides just killed each other in a bloody bath. And the megiddo used by Rolf during his last few seconds of life destroyed the ship and the remaining of the several hundred earthmen that attacked him and his party definitely had to happen as well. That's how I personally took the ending.

  • Soooooooo they killed them all i guess and then everyone was happy?

  • for now!

  • Well actually the computer system going down like that kinda caused 90% of the population to die and stuff according to Phantasy star 4.. >.>;

  • well 90% of the population died on Mota, because a part of Palma crashed into the planet destroying everything
