  • great movie! i like the other one with charlotte gainsbourg as well....

  • At 0:28 did anyone else pick up on them using the score from the 1977 horror 'Suspiria'? very haunting isn't it? :)

  • i love this book so much <3

  • Perhaps Rochester is a tad too handsome but the wording follows the book extremely faithfully; it gives you a chance to simply bathe in the depth of words. Not as much as the book, granted, but a worthy adaptation.

  • 1:47 how the heck is he staying so still in the saddle???

  • I'm reading the book and think the movie is REALY faithful, for once!

    Great cast :)

  • Omg Suspiria theme! 3

  • some scenes from the trailer were not in the version I saw personally haha...the trailer makes the movie look like some thriller, while in fact it was a very good period drama piece. Both Mia and Fassbender did a good job and I enjoyed this version the most out of all adaptations.

  • i can not believe that i've wasted 2 hours of my life to see the worst movie that ha ever been filmed....oh my god... :/

  • 1:30 love it

  • Watched this movie last year. Btw novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë was part of my English Literature class at school; but not novel Wide Sargasso Sea (by Jean Rhys) known as prequel to Jane Eyre.

  • The trailer looks as if it was some stupid horror movie, do they have to make trailers looks'action-like' these days to sell a movie?

  • really good movie <3

  • @magicweaver12 Are you kidding? This is probably the worst, most boring movie that I've ever seen. It looked as though the camera man was following around a bunch of people that had no idea they were on camera and they weren't doing anything interesting.

  • This version is very good, and great acting. Although, the film version master piece of the book has already been done in 1996 by Franco Zeffirelli, with Anna Paquin,William Hurt and Charlotte Gainsbourg in it.

However good the new versions are, it all feels kinda useless to make them.

  • @SuperFashionWorld ...Agree 1000%!! 1996 version is the best!!

  • good movie! leakedmovies . biz

  • just tried to which the movie for I love jane eyre and read the book and so but this movie is horrible it goes on to fast Rochester is wearde and not as great as in the book or my favorite film of jane eyre ( the zafarelli version) and the movie all in all has no good scenes tries to stay which the book but brings everything in it out of its context

  • Sick trailer

  • one of the few love movies that i WILL watch.

  • "Do you think me handsome?" HELLS YEAH!!!

  • @phoebbyful Agree!!!!!! He is handsome!

  • damn he is hot @_@

  • wow agirl from alice

  • lol what is wrong with that guy's sideburns ?

  • The movie looked good then Michael Fassbender popped in the trailer....Then my clothes fell off.....Now I must see this.

  • I think this trailer is done horribly. But the movie it self is great.

  • she looks like gweneth paltrow!

  • wow scarier then the old one!

  • Oh, it's this one! XD I kept thinking I hadn't read Jane Eyre, but I just forgot the title when I did read it.

  • I watched Jane Eyre the day before & I found nothing romantic about it. All I saw is poor smart little Jane who suffered in notorious Victorian institution, had no place of her own, never found true love & being forced to run back to horrible Mr Rochester to escape another marriage proposal dilema. Mr. Rochester is a horrible demanding manipulating man he locked up his mentally ill wife in his own house for years & lied to Jane about it he should've been arrested for intent to commit bigamy. :(

  • @Dragon34th He didn't lock up his wife because he was mean, in those days his wife would have been taken to bedlam. He kept her in the house with a nurse to care for her.

  • The best Jane Eyre movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This trailer didn't make any sense

  • Beautiful movie

  • I have just seen the film. And wow, so incredibly beautiful! Great actresses and actors, magnificent.

  • I just saw this...... the movie is SOO GOOD. But this trailer is a lot more dramatic than the movie is haha. A perfect adaption of the book, and MICHAEL FASSBENDER OMG. Thank goodness they cast him for Mr. Rochester. :D

  • when is this out for goodness!

  • @IdealThinker Jane Eyre is already out on DVD, you can see it here on Youtube or on Amazon . com for the same price.

  • Don't be fooled. This book fucking sucks. No matter how many times they make new movies, add better effects, or get different actors. It's always the same dull, dumb, pointless, stupid plot and sucks sucks sucks. I had to read the book AND watch both of the older movies for school and it was pretty much the worst experience of my life.

  • So angry that I haven't seen this yet. Reading it at the moment, can't wait to see it.

Can anyone tell me who Jamie Bell plays and if he is actually in this trailer?

  • @seddiefan65176 Jmaie Bell plays St John Rivers and he is only inthis trailer at the end for a tiny clip I think... it's a shame I would like to see more of him in his role.

  • Jamie Bell and Mia Wasikowska both acted in alice and wonderland as well... I love Jamie Bell <3

  • @SteffJPendragon I actually ADORE Jamie Bell- was so excited yesterday when I found out we were to watch The Eagle in my Classics class- he is SO brilliant in it- everyone was gawping at Channing Tatum (who, in my opinion, is much too muscley and I swear his head is square) while I was just saying OMG JAMMIIEEEE!!!!!

  • @seddiefan65176 You're so lucky you got to watch The Eagle at SCHOOL! I have to say though I do love Channing, I think they are both very versatile, talented actors whom are both quite attractive (obviously Jamie is the better of the two). They both also have awesome charisma in interviews... in short I love them <3

  • @SteffJPendragon I agree, and THANK you... Jamie IS the better looking one! Channing's a little too muscley for moi :) I swear his head is square :D And I just went with too mates shopping yesterday for my bday and I just decided to buy the Eagle on DVD YAAAAAY :D My parents havent seen it yet- cant wait to show it to them!!!

  • @seddiefan65176 I bought The Eagle the day it came out because I read heaps of reviews for it and I had watched the trailer a thouand times, along with heaps of interviews> I then found out it wasn't coming out in the movies in Australia (where I live) so I just decided to buy... never been so confident in spending my money in my entire life :D

  • @SteffJPendragon Hahaha- I first went to see it on a Classics trip in the cinema :D

  • she is so pretty

  • I just watched the 1996 version which I really enjoyed so now I reallyyy want to see this one

  • va va ra magari iqneba

  • my mom and i have a thing for the classics like pride and prejudice, gone with wind and ive seen all the other versions of Jane Eyre and just watching this one i have to say its my favorite of all of them i simply loved it, and Jane is pretty dont know why they think she isnt

  • i started the book (for the fourth time) and then as i was walking out of a cinema i learn that there's a new movie! :D

  • is jane playing the girl from alice in wonderland?????

    pls I want answer

  • @Anuna0anuk1 yes

  • @Anuna0anuk1 yes she is..!

well I shall say 96 version looks quite better than this...

  • @Anuna0anuk1 yup

  • @Anuna0anuk1 yip

  • @Anuna0anuk1, yes, it's her

  • @Anuna0anuk1 Yes, she is. Mia Wasikowska.

  • @Anuna0anuk1 yes

  • @Anuna0anuk1 Yes, yes she is, Mia Wasikowksa, this film made her look plain but she is quite pretty :)

  • I can't judge from just a trailer, but I think I like the 2006 BBC version better. Her dresses aren't plain enough and the chemistry seems to be lacking. But that's just me.

  • An incredible movie full of drama, suspense, anger, sorrow, hope and most importantly- love which is based on a truly amazing book..this story will never die and I promise, no matter how many times I watched this movie, I never failed to cry buckets and buckets of tears and always managed to smile from ear to ear in the end...

  • God I love the book. I just hope the movie does it justice.

  • i love this book and this really looks like a good version:D:D

  • No wonder ,,,the BBC version is much better, because they are not interested as much of commercial succes as Hollywood. Also in the BBC version they had four episod to draw the details of characters and that is a big advantage on their side to make a really good film.

  • The BBC version is better..far better

  • @Wilfried9071 I just came to say this and saw your comment. Totally agree ;) The chemistry between the actors and the acting was much better in the BBC 2006 version!

  • CACA

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MG, IS AMAZING, I LOVE THIS BOOK. BUT THE ACTRESS IS UGLY, LIKE UGLY BETTY, JEJEJEJE

  • I knew that Mia Wasikowska plays Jane Eyre but Michael Fassbende playing Rochester... oh that made my day!!! LOVE

  • I just realized Micheal Fassbender is also the actor that plays Magneto in X-Men: First Class. o_O And now that I see him playing as Mr. Rochester...two different personalities...:D

  • Ha i just now realized Jane is from Alice in Wonderland :)

  • Don't get me wrong I just made a reservation at the cinema to see this movie on sunday but what's up with the typography in this trailer?

  • Guess this traileruploader is neutral with all it´s praise for Mia...long time since wever seen such a stunning grace?Well...Sairse Ronan had a breakthrough some years ago.Heard of her?

  • @Sumumabitch78 Saoirse Ronan is one the best actresses I have never seen indeed. In my opinion she is wayyy better than Mia...(for the role she was too young but I mean for the acting ^-^).What do you think ?

  • This movie is really good! Slightly spooky at times but very enjoyable. Totally recommend it.

  • I'm not enjoying the book, but that is because I am forced to read it for school but wow they made this trailer good. A love story looks dramatic!

  • Jane Eyre is a very interesting book. I saw 5 or 6 differents versions and i'm very happy to watch a new one

  • I'm reading the book and I saw this, oh how Ive ruined it for my self!

  • Haven't seen the film yet, but oh my god, MICHAEL FASSBENDER!

  • @lightenup15 He's amazing :)

  • @lightenup15 but the sideburns.

  • @lightenup15 p.s. if you look at his eyes the color is most likely the reason he is every woman's dream. BLUE!!!!! and his mouth is huge

  • love this book and movie !!!

  • This is an excellent film. Seriously, it's great

  • Im reading the book for my honors class

  • This movie is one of the greatest I've seen, I would see it more than once.

  • trailer is great but movie is shit and boring and slow and by the way to whom has watched this film i request to know who is leah

    please

  • waiting for it. Great novel.

  • Comment removed

  • Woah, the top comment says that Michael Fassbender is "unhandsome"?? WHAT?

  • great movie! I love this story an book...

  • I really enjoyed this movie. Ive seen all the Jane Eyre's made and each one is amazing. Im also named after Jane Eyre so its cool to see them and think i was named after a heroic heroine of a great book!

  • I`m sure that this is a great movie, but why do no one dare to make a movie where mr Rochester and Jane Eyre are ugly!!!???

  • This is one of the best movies I've seen all year; the costumes, the set, the script, the acting, all of it is just wonderful and I love this movie!!

  • no, no , no :(

  • the dude from x men

  • I prefer Franco Zeffirelli's version!!!!

  • simply amazing.......brilliant actors play...

  • What's with all the hate? I love the book, I'm sure the movie will be just as good!

  • In my opinion, this is my favorite version, because it doesn't undermine the darkness that encompassed jane Eyre

  • it looks so scary!

  • Movie looks boring. This movie seems to be directed by a slanted eyed oriental JAP.

  • @Amoraklin2 racist

  • Jane Erye .... never wears out ... and what i like most about this version of the movie in particular, is Mr.Rochester's voice .... its quite deep and has a soothing effect :)

  • I love the book with a passion and im afraid i havent seen any movies that do it justice! what the hell was with the accents?!

  • is it me or ar there bits of film in this trailer that don't appear in the film?

for example the part where she says: "you, sir, are the most phantom-like of all" and you see rochester with black eyes. (2:01)

  • @AzureMisake Yes! I was saying the same thing! There are a ton of parts in the trailer that got deleted from the movie, and i don't why bc theyre all the really good creepy parts!

  • amazing movie, i picked the perfect version to tell me the Jane Eyre story for the first time. the acting was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This film was brilliant. An amazing performance from Mia Wosikowska!!somehow manages to make her look like a plain Jane, one of my favourite actors

  • I just saw this movie! :O I was amazed! I wanted to watch it again, before I'd even finished it!

  • Great film, I think the only adaptation so far that shows all that tension, horror and dark side of the story, instead of focusing on the love scenes.

  • the book is amazing, lets just hope that the film lives up to it :)

  • Not bad but my favourite version will always be the 1996 one.

  • It's Eric for X-Men and Alice from Alice in Wonderland!

  • dude...rochester is actually good looking!

  • just from the trailer - I'd say that rochester is a mis-cast. the girl looks good though.

  • @elenore88

prehaps you should have watched the movie before making nonsensical comments.

  • @nattetale91 it wasn't nonsensical. she has a depth and intensity that he doesn't. you might be able to act it if it's called for in a script, but if you don't really have it - it shows.

rochester is a really powerful personality type. very intense and passionate. that's what makes this story such a classic nearly two centuries later. it's the people in the story, not just the story.

  • @elenore88

he has depth, you just can't feel it.

  • @nattetale91 I said he was a mis-cast. I didn't say he didn't have depth.

  • @elenore88

quoting you:"she has a DEPTH and intensity that HE DOESN'T " Now he has depth? You seem to be having a contadiction.

  • @nattetale91 SHE HAS MORE THEN HIM. geez. do I have to spell it out. in the book they were evenly matched. in the movie she has the chops but as far as I can see, he doesn't.

(doesn't mean I'm trying to claim he doesn't have any).

  • @elenore88 Oh,God...I don't want to live on this planet anymore. Are you really not trying to convince everyone that he's miscast?

    "He hasn't got depth,but hey...I don't clam that!" wtf?

  • i think reading the book is a must before watching that movie, unlike 2006 version, you didn't have to read the book in order to understand the movie .

  • So how come half of what's in the trailer doesn't happen in the actual film? Was it re-edited??

  • Just finished the book...it was trully exquisite, and it saddens me knowing that my peers (teens) seldom hold interest in this book, all because of the vocabulary and the diction aren't middle school leveled and easy to breeze through. I loved this book, and I finished it in two days, unable to put it down. Hope this movie serves it justice!

  • thumbs up if you love getting lost in a book x

  • OMG I love this book so much! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS FILM! ROCHESTER LOOKS PERFECT AND SO DOES MIA AS JANE!

  • I must admit, I'm not crazy about this version. I like the actress, she does a decent portrayal of Jane, but you don't really get why they even fall in love. It's all very rushed, I liked the beginning much more than the rest of the film. The actors don't have much chemistry and Rochester isn't written or directed well IMO.

The book is truly wonderful, passionate and moving. Hard to make a good captivating adaption. Specially in 90-120 minutes.

  • A great movie! It was pretty true to the book, so I really enjoyed it.

  • I am currently reading the book, and Charlotte Bronte deserves the best appropriations in the cinema to her book. The book is phenomenal, and the movie has to be good, considering the greatness in its appalling story.

  • worth watching?

  • I dont know why people complain about these movies so much. P&P, jane eyre, north n south etc. All these classics are good not because of the acting or the effects. They are awesome because they are backed by an amazing story. Iv seen 3 diff version's of Jane Eyre and i enjoyed each one in its own way. Im sure ill enjoy this movie in its own way. And if they make a new one in the next 10 yrs im sure ill enjoy that one too. Enjoy the movie n the story it tells.

  • @shaqdaddy11 that's true, these are movies made for people who enjoy good acting, picture, as well as script, in other words, good taste, they are not based on visual or computer effects which makes them to be different from the rest.

  • In the book EDWARD Rochester has big black eyes, black hair, a big nose, olivey skin + a wide mouth. I think a certain British politician has (unaptly) been named after him!

  • The only Jane Eyre is 1983. When i saw 1996 years version - i almost vomitt. What's wrong with the directors? They can't make normal movies. An this trailer - ... also freaky one. sad.

  • ME= goosebumps looks amazing can't wait

  • Im a huge movie buff and this is now my absolute favourite movie ever. EVER. Mia is the perfect jane in my eyes and Michael is the perfect Rochester. I dont care if he isnt supposed to be handsome, his acting matched Rochester's character exactly and every character from St.John to Birtha were perfectly cast.

  • Any man who plays Mr Rochester will be handsome in my eyes... even though the character himself may not supposed to be a handsome thing, I cannot help but think different. It is true... the strength of love that a man feels for a woman and how much he dotes on her... is so much more attractive than a man with stricking looks... and the voice... The deep guttural voice Mr Rochester is supposed to have makes me weak at the knees :)

  • Fantastic adaptation. I think Ruth and Mia are both great Janes, but Mia is more subtle. Fassbender was a much better than Rochester I have to say, and obviously this was a much better adaptation than the Orson Welles version.

  • I love the book and the movie was quite nice.

  • @legendofgod982 Yes, he is, and he's brilliant in it. My sole criticism is that Rochester isn't supposed to be very handsome and Michael Fassbender...well, he doesn't exactly fit that description.

  • Huh, another wrong adaptation of a classic literature. I hope the movie makers actually read the book before making this movie. It looks all wrong. People should read the original literature. Nowadays, Americans and Europeans seem to have forgotten what their ancestors were like.

  • when's this out in the UK?

  • i'm going to see this tonight - do you guys recommend it?

  • What is the song at 0:28 - 0:37? Its wrecking my mind.

  • Watched this movie last night...it was amazing! I LOVED it. My favorite Jane Erye was always the William Hurt version, but my mom and I agreed this one is now our favorite. It had wonderful acting, beautiful music and haunting cinematography. LOVED it.

  • The 2006 version was the best in my opinion but this looks awesome too when is it coming out?

  • This looks like a bad version. Have to say that version from 2006 was the totally best one. This looks like Alice from Wonderland!

  • i still prefer fassbender in fish tank... ow yeeeeeeeah

  • Holy shit that song was from Suspiria!

  • im reading the book right now, im right in the middle, and i cant wait to finish it so i can watch this movie, it looks ammmazing!!!!

  • @lilia123ish same!!! the movie seems so good! watching this trailer has motivated me to finish the book sooner!!! <3

  • @Welcometomylife2441 i know i love this book:))

  • @lilia123ish me too!!! girl!! <3
