Actually, the current low gas prices have more to do with the looming financial crisis. Prices do go down — drastically — in a typical DEPRESSION (ask your grandparents or great-grandparents about prices in the Great Depression, for instance).
Of course, there is also such a thing as an INFLATIONARY depression, and that WAS what we were looking at BEFORE the Fannie May / Freddy Mac thing.
So, as I look for a new job since businesses are scaling back I can, instead of being told no by potential employers over the phone I can afford the gas to drive around to interviews and be told no in person. Wow! What an improvement!
Although I vote for Democrats and would tend to agree with you, really the low gas prices now are more a function of the recession, not of oil supply (although I do agree we did go there for oil). When gas prices hugely dropped, Venezuela (Chavez) and the Middle East are trying to decrease production (supply/demand) to get prices back up to where they were before but it's not working which of course frustrates them (and makes me happy bc it frustrates them).

The pipeline in question is called the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and deliver it's oil to BP in Turkey.
U.S. has invaded Afghanistan to build such a pipeline from Caspian Sea through Turkménistan, AFGHANISTAN, an Pakistan. Halliburton(Cheney) was meant to build it and Chevron(C. Rice) meant to drill and ship it.

A huge demand for such a cheap energy source as oil is to be expected. Oil in the world is being used at a much faster rate than it is replenished. As it becomes more scarce and harder to extract, higher prices will result, and alternative energy technologies (that are much more expensive than oil today), will be invested in the most efficient ways. Cellphones and computers would not be as cheap and effectively produced if not produced in a competitive free market. Opposite of Obama's opinion
By the way gas is still cheap. (it costs about the same per gallon as bottled water!). And I am talking relative to alternative energies. And gas will only become more expensive (on average) in the future. Why don't the oil companies drill at home? Its more expensive than buying it where it is more easily accessed and plentiful!
The rate of usage of gasoline is going to continue to grow. In addition to a growing population, most developing countries are attempting to use more cheap energy for industry and want to be like the US, not yet even close to the amount that the US uses. By the end of our lifetime, we will probably see peak oil, and when these 'expensive' alternative energies will be more and more comparable in price.
The fact is, the estimate of how much oil is in the US is not the question. There is lots of oil everywhere, and lots of other expensive energy sources too. The question is how much it costs to extract. Believe me, if it was cheaper to drill in the US, that is where oil would be from.

Actually, the current low gas prices have more to do with the looming financial crisis. Prices do go down — drastically — in a typical DEPRESSION (ask your grandparents or great-grandparents about prices in the Great Depression, for instance).
Of course, there is also such a thing as an INFLATIONARY depression, and that WAS what we were looking at BEFORE the Fannie May / Freddy Mac thing.

Although I vote for Democrats and would tend to agree with you, really the low gas prices now are more a function of the recession, not of oil supply (although I do agree we did go there for oil). When gas prices hugely dropped, Venezuela (Chavez) and the Middle East are trying to decrease production (supply/demand) to get prices back up to where they were before but it's not working which of course frustrates them (and makes me happy bc it frustrates them).

The pipeline in question is called the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and deliver it's oil to BP in Turkey.
U.S. has invaded Afghanistan to build such a pipeline from Caspian Sea through Turkménistan, AFGHANISTAN, an Pakistan. Halliburton(Cheney) was meant to build it and Chevron(C. Rice) meant to drill and ship it.
But since Pakistan is going erraticaly, They are looking to Iran as they already possess some infrastructures...

The only Iraqi state institution guarded after the fall of Saddam was the Ministry of Oil - the whole of the state infrastructure was dismantled, looted or destroyed, but the oil was meant to keep flowing. A huge demand for such a cheap energy source as oil is to be expected. Oil in the world is being used at a much faster rate than it is replenished. As it becomes more scarce and harder to extract, higher prices will result, and alternative energy technologies (that are much more expensive than oil today), will be invested in the most efficient ways. Cellphones and computers would not be as cheap and effectively produced if not produced in a competitive free market. Opposite of Obama's opinion

The rate of usage of gasoline is going to continue to grow. In addition to a growing population, most developing countries are attempting to use more cheap energy for industry and want to be like the US, not yet even close to the amount that the US uses. By the end of our lifetime, we will probably see peak oil, and when these 'expensive' alternative energies will be more and more comparable in price.

However, progressivism is a ever evolving and changing ideology due to new problems and new solutions to those problems arising. Both sides are selectively progressive. The many reason the Populists failed was that they were pulled in too many different directions.

Every person in america also uses a computer, heating, and electricity. It's just that they always complain about gas prices, which make up approx. 80% of all oil production. The other oil products are relatively insignificant. The other 20% is primarily for heating and electricity purposes. In particular, the oil that goes into your computer is totally insignificant. Yes, you should stop complaining however much you make. Bush is trying, and the dems in congress are stopping him. Plain & simple

Wait, you have to refine this stuff into various petroleum derivatives- Like kerosene, gasoline, or the cruddy stuff they use in asphalt- the point is, that take$ENERGY$. Plus, a lot of states use those taxes as a use-tax on car traffic with which to pay people for maintaining the roads. If people drive less, or drive using non-gas cars, less revenue goes into a use-tax system, less roadwork gets done, and I worry about high-siding from a PotholeOnMyFuel-Efficient motorbike.ForeignEntanglement.

After the invasion, the USA turned Iraq oil production down to a trickle, thus causing the price to rise to $140 a barrel

I doubt McSame really intended to say that, he is pretty confused and his thinking is not too quick nowadays. Reagan was in better metal shape but still had alzhimers and died from it.
