and yes his defense and arguments are weak, its always about detracting from the question by answering with obvious undetractable truths - its easy to say 1 million people support your compay, when of course as a population we depend on the energy you provide, but dont tell consumers that they cannot question how the energy is brought to them just because they consume or sign a peice of paper - and why are people who question lunatics ? only because you dont agree, maybe you just dont know.
I'll take the word of the CEO who built his Chesapeake from the ground up, has provided thousands of jobs around the country, helped increase natural gas production in the USA, and is helping spur a real growth industry and a movement away from foreign oil, over some hippy harvard students who watched a few documentaries. Mr. McClendon isn't even given a chance to say anything because he's been shouted down.
@jsleezy22 if in providing thousands of jobs, he also manages to poison your soil with many chemical substances for many years to come, which is based on the objective of extracting as much gas as possible no matter the cost - when you see these documentaries and read the correct information and see people getting seriously sick, and that the same water sources are the same ones providing some large cities with water - why do you simply want to believe a ceo who'se main obejective is making cash
@GrealyNick maybe none, because they stopped drinking the water before getting to sick that it would be irreversible, you try living in those areas - its so fucking easy for you to just gon on and say stuff like that, but yout water source doesnt catch fire when you put a lighter to it. come on dont be so naive, these large energy companies are screwing nature and us with it - if you dont see it, then remain blind and suit yourself.
Chesapeake has delayed or refused to complete other purchases in that region as well, the lawsuit states.
“Chesapeake has convinced numerous leasehold owners in Michigan to sell leases to Chesapeake instead of other prospective purchasers, and then manufactured alleged title defects or other alleged justification not to close the agreements after discovering negative information concerning the zones within the Collingwood range,” according to the lawsuit.
Please. He has his answers memorized. Answer the same in every town and dodge the tough questions. The health and well being of this country are NOT important to him, only the almighty dollar.
Aubrey delivered a very professional presentation. I commend him for his patience in dealing with the lunatics in the audience. Obviously not an easy task to deliver information in the face of craziness.
@229glock are you stupid, what do you mean lunatics, why are they lunatics ? do you support the use of chemicals in frakking ? do you fully understand what you are saying .... seriously demented.
@229glock you didnt hit a nerve, i was already annoyed by people's lack of understanding; im glad i posted all that back then, cause i still think it and your recent comment demonstrates how dim-witted you are. but nevermind, the world is full of people like you.
Soo this was more than likely a public forum..? The EPA and third party researchers STILL haven't found any conclusive evidence that Chesapeake is responsible for for killing anyone- let alone responsible for the chemicals mentioned. Surely an educated person would have the sense to check their sources before slandering someone who employs tens of thousands of people, etc. If people realized what oil has done to our trade deficit and what that means for our future they would sit down and listen
We signed when we were lied to about how safe the process was...we regret signing and hope Chesapeake will burst in the scam they have created. Cornell University has a study by Prof Howarth that shows natural gas is cleaner than other fossil fuels ONLY at the combustion stage. Taking everything to extract and transport and with methane leakage, it may even be DIRTIER than coal! it is also a short play and not the longterm royalty provider promised.
What a bunch of idiots. Too bad they probably woke up that same day to a warm home and took a hot shower and cooked breakfast via natural gas. Not to mention they probably rely on natural gas to generate their electricity.
@PhilTCU how does this comment make you any wiser ? no doubt that they do, but maybe they dont have other options at hand - and individuals living close to wells are quite clearly faling ill when frakking wells open up closeby. so if you were to eat food that wasnt 100% fresh in a restaurant, youd want to know what it was that made you ill ? the issue needs resolving does it not ? - so its only your right as a consumer to ask these questions, unless you dont care ...

The gas leases that Abrey McClendon speaks of were acquired by lies and fraud.
