This thing is not even a weapon, In the military it is used to trick the enemy to think planes and choppers are flying over. These do not kill you. They can damage your ears but I am sure the police don't have it that loud or the sound would break the camera's mic. Either way this cannot kill you. Like a rubber bullet. It can cause damage to you but not kill you. Only time anyone should worry is if police start using heat guns where it focuses a high amount of heat on you causing you to run.

The device is a directional device..which means that if your not infront of it, then it is not at a painful level..

The people in the houses wil definately hear it and it will probably annoy the shit out of you but nothing bad..like a police or fire brigade siren going off.

If you would have done this, you would know that it's not an omni-directional driver, meaning they can literally point the sound anywhere they want. In this case, they were pointing it down the street. The people in the houses would have only heard the echo's of the returning sound waves bouncing off objects in the LRAD's path.

Their are one with a walkthrough by the manufacturer where you see the backside labels showing 180 degree coverage and ~115degree 100% SPL... so yes, the local residents is equally harassed by this weapon (that the manufacturer told the journalist only damages hearing if you directly in front of it, within a meter and are exposed for a long period.... what a load of c***)

Hombre, eso de "La frecuencia tiene poco que ver en todo esto"...pues tampoco. una cosa es la frecuencia y otra el Nivel de Intensidad Sonora (NIS). Aquí lo molesto tiene una parte de cada. Por un lado un sonido de frecuencia alta, osea agudo, es más desagradable que uno grave, aun cuando tengan la misma intensidad sonora. Si a esto le añades los ciento y pico decibelios de NIS, pues mejor estar lejos.
