  • I want this LSX454 injected with rotating assembly capable up to 8500rpm, forged and balanced everything, 900+Hp beast dropped in a Holden HSV GTO coupe...Thats all I want damn it :)

  • Lsx waist of money. Lq9 motor z06 cam and turbo. It blue up because they didn't tell you the single springs wouldn't hold over 6000 rpm. Lol you got Rob bro. They said power up to 7500 rpm. Well they really said we think and would like to believe.

  • I want this engine!

  • holy fuck

  • DEAR GM PERFORMANCE PARTS-WILL YOU HELP?

    MY LSX 454 BLEW UP

Recently I was influenced to purchase a Chevrolet LSX-454 engine for my 2010 camaro based on information in print and in person from Dr. Jamie Meyer, the Product Integration Manager for GM Performance Parts. THE BLOCK HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE.

  • @prostreetbuyer will if it had what you stated then you must pushed it over 2500 horses as they are tested for 2500 ponies only

  • @antipeacemilitias other stuff could have gone wrong...

  • what kind of fuel is it on? Alcohol, Meth? C16? or what?

  • @302Travis i doubt meth or alcohol, it ooks like it has a fogger plumbed on it

  • jizz

  • Whats the milage like??? te he!

  • No carb cleaner?

  • Mother of God. anymore details on the motor? cost of build?

  • The X in LSX can be taken as a number. The actual 'LSX' block is an iron race block made by bowtie, not used in any production vehicle. The LQ4/LQ9 blocks are iron LS1 blocks for trucks.

I just call them gen3. All parts are interchangeable except for lifers in the LS7/LSX and of course dry sump.

  • @bmays001 The LSX is made out of Aluminum.....

  • @magnum9987

    naww

  • @magnum9987 LSX is a cast Iron block. its about 80lb heavier than the Alum LS engines.

  • inch fer inch boosted motors kill n/a

  • Boost is retarted first of all. N/A engines are the way to go, no stupid frills, no power adders, your goddamn pistons are all the power adders you need. Turbos you get all the power at the top of the band, superchargers its all at the bottom, N/A you get all the power at all points, sure its a little harder but its much more reliable and much more impressive once its done.

Second it really isnt for boost, the LSX 376 is for boost, the LSX 454 is for N/A

  • small block??

  • this block is for boost! if your gonna be a pussy and go NA you mighnt as well get an alluminum block and save half the weight.

  • @inteligentvtec So 930 N/A hp @ 8400rpm is pussy... This motor is straight badass.

  • @inteligentvtec They don't make a lsx block in cast iron you idiot, they are all aluminum just like the ls1 and ls7 and all the motors in between. And no it is no dohc it is a good old fashioined pushrod engine and no your honda can't do this.

  • @Chevymonster203 u fucking dumbass , lsx blocks are cast iron , LS7's are aluminium.. do some research idiot

  • @Chevymonster203 the only true lsx motor uses the gm performance parts cast iron lsx block, and yes i know all there is to know about sbc's, and aircooled vw's, and prety much every othere type of motor. so dont even get me started.

  • Anyone know what kind of internals it has?must be the best forged you can get and anyone know about the twin tbi's it has......looks pretty intersting

  • is this acutally going to go in a bloody car

  • How are you getting to 8400?

  • @PrimitiveStrikeForce Very strong parts!

  • by increasing 400rpm past 8,000 rpm...

  • Listen to that!

  • what dizzy setup does it have? looks trick without all the ugly coils.

  • Comment removed

  • Good old LSX power, gotta love it. SAM just put together a 433ci N/A LSX making 1001! check it out

    /watch?v=vr_gl2cgl1o

  • Regardless you aren't spinning a pushrod engine to 15,000 rpms. The piston speed would be beyond the capabilities of the metal they're made out of. F1 engines are restricted to 18,000 rpms and they have to run pnuematic "springs". Their stroke is also much much less than a 454 LsX to keep peak piston speeds down to livable conditions.

  • lt5 was dohc.

  • I still think it would be sweet to adapt the original ZR-1's engine heads, the LT5 engine's heads, to fit this monster. Then let the tuners get their hands on it. Imagine a 15,000 RPM Chevy V8. You could make your 2500HP with no forced induction at all taking up room in the hood and without the weight of the turbos and intercoolers. The war cry alone of that beast would probably kill you if you were standing too close to it.

  • never going to happen, there's too much rocker weight on LT5 heads to turn that much rpm.

  • So recast in titanium, and/or use heavier springs. Problem solved.

  • what a loser below me they have to rebuild the whole motor after a top fuel drag car runs. most of the time they blow a pistion half way down the track bc of how much power they put out. but cool video

  • This engine isn't for top fuel. Top fuel engines make 8000 hp. After enough passes they WILL need to replace rings and such, but this engine is making less than 40% of the power the block is rated at. Considering the money in the engine and the conservative power figures I'd say DURABILITY and CONSISTANT RELIABILITY was the main goal of the builder. This thing is a monster.

  • humina humina humina OMG that was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SWEET!

  • is that N/A ???

  • is that a custom intake???? cuz i want one

  • RAWR!

  • This engine was built to run in a very competitive class vs big blocks, and there's more than 50k in this engine. You can find the build article about it.. lots of 1 off GM parts.. the heads alone are over 10k!

  • my 65 c10's next heart right there. i'll add a 250 shot of the squeeze for good measure though

  • My assumption is that this is an actual "LSX" block, correct? 950 hp without boost and the blocks are rated to withstand 2500hp! I love it. Can't wait till I get my own. Make mine turbocharged.

  • jut type NRE in the serch

  • I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • o man

what i wouldnt do for that motor

  • thats one KICKASS small block

  • Doesnt seem bothered by high RPM's at all.

  • Warp speed capn!

  • by what? the ever-popular mud powered motor?

  • What's your static compressiion ratio? What are some of your cam specs? If you don't mind me asking. Do you know the BSFC at horsepower peak? That motor is one fine piece of precision machinery. It accelerates at an amazing rate, and gets my adrenaline pumping. I can't wait till the house is empty, so I can crank up the sound!

  • Thats good for it...Gets the oil to the top of the motor and lubes it up good... LOL

  • Craziness!!!

  • sounds awesome, particulary love when it drops off WOT, Would be nice to drive everyday to work ? :D

  • dude jsut stfu the engine block is sold by gm yes but it will not be going into any gm production car this engine block was built for car lovers. the block was meant for racers and hot rod builders.

  • wow....

  • I'm not an LSx fan, but damn that thing sounds sick.

Hey, are the lifters bottomed out? Haha....

  • was this sprayed or all motor?

  • "Naturally aspirated"

  • ooooh my fucking god.

  • Not bad for an old man.....

Get her done and ready for some ass kicking in Memphis bro!

  • Robin your a stud! That thing sounds evil!

  • Holly shit!!! That was awesome!!!
