Say if you were driving on rocky terrain the axle of the Jeep could hit a big rock and get stuck whereas the Hummer would not.

Actually, I think it's because he had a group of paying customers on board. He didn't want to take a chance on a lawsuit. I trained on Humvee when the army first received them. Some good to great things about them, some inherent weaknesses, of course. There is no perfect off-road vehicle as a factory equipped unit I probably would choose Pinsgauer, possibly MB Unimoog. still the Jeep Rubicon is most likely the biggest "bang for the buck."
