what makes you so sure that a after life is waiting for you, other than illogical faith and a relationship with a God who talks though his followers though a Bible that is either evil if it is all infallible e.g. Leviticus "I myself will discipline you sevenfold for your sins. 29 You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters. 30" Or the perfect creator made a non infallible Bible then it is subject to human interpretation so God is who we make him.

@Mindinglife The portion of Leviticus 26 you're quoting was a prophecy, not a commandment. God was telling the people of Israel what would happen if they continued on their path. Skeptics like to ask where's the proof. Maybe a better question would be what would an of us do if we had it. What if the worst thing God could ever do to us is give us everything that we want?
Does God want us to suffer? Isn't he supposed to love us? Does he want us to be conflicted? What if the answer to that question is yes? I think God doesn't necessarily want us to be happy. I think he wants us to grow up, to love and be loved, and know what that means and what it costs. Just my opinion.

@Mindinglife - I used to be like you. Thinking there was "security" in belief or in faith. There isn't. Atheists say that because it makes them feel superior. There's an arrogance in believing "they need a crutch", but that arrogance blinds them to the joy of others. The older I became, the more atheist friends I have, the more I realized how wrong they are. I can see it in their lives and their choices. Now I'm old enough to see folly but I lack the strength to leave this lifestyle behind.

I was baptized the first time when was 13 and had no idea what i was doing and had millions of questions and just didn't know and thought the way i was living was ok with God and realized no its not. By now he should've probably given you the answers, or at least a small hint about what to do since you're already praying and holding on to his love, it means that he already showed you how great his love is and showed you that he is listening.

Just read Psalm 139 today, and it reminded me that He knows EXACTLY what's on my heart no matter where I am. @Peaceloveflutefreak Im 15 years old and i've been through quite a bit also. You must know that the lord is more than willing to fill it up your emptiness. Pray to him and ask him to walk with you in your faith, and He shall hold your hand as you go through this world. What happend in the past is the past and no one can change it, so ask God to forgive you for those mistakes and He said He will cast them in the sea of forgetfulness. God is going to do great things with you, i can feel it :)
@JesusFreak5101 thanks. But it wasnt mistakes I made or messing up. First there was a family member who left my heart with a scar and God helped me through it and I was so happy and praising him. then stuff started to get hard again with just growing up. Also when I was little my uncle died then a yr later my other cousin but i moved away from that now there is just some other stuff. Im trying to stay hopefull but it doesnt happen everyday.

The days where you feel like there's no one there who understands, there's always Jesus. He will never leave you. If you get a chance, read the first chapter of James. It will help. And then, read 2 Corinthians chapter 1. I'll be praying for you, brother! This doesn't last forever. :)

Yeah you got a point. I am 39 and gave my life to Jesus back in 1993. I have gone astray way too many times, but even in my most sinful days and times in the back of my mind and heart I deeply wanted to come back to Him, and have over and over again. This is a process that will consume all of your life until you are carried up by His angels into heaven to be with Him for all of eternity. Thank you Jesus for the amazing forgiveness and love which we can not fully understand. :)

God never said it would be easy, but that he would be there with us in our darkest hours. Something that helped me was not to have a beginning but to use what I had been through to point others to Christ. There is a reason you have been through what you have trust Christ to use that to his Glory.

what makes you so sure that a after life is waiting for you, other than illogical faith and a relationship with a God who talks though his followers though a Bible that is either evil if it is all infallible e.g. Leviticus "I myself will discipline you sevenfold for your sins. 29 You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters. 30" Or the perfect creator made a non infallible Bible then it is subject to human interpretation so God is who we make him.

Skeptics like to ask where's the proof. Maybe a better question would be what would an of us do if we had it. What if the worst thing God could ever do to us is give us everything that we want?
Does God want us to suffer? Isn't he supposed to love us? Does he want us to be conflicted? What if the answer to that question is yes? I think God doesn't necessarily want us to be happy. I think he wants us to grow up, to love and be loved, and know what that means and what it costs. Just my opinion.

@Mindinglife - I used to be like you. Thinking there was "security" in belief or in faith. There isn't. Atheists say that because it makes them feel superior. There's an arrogance in believing "they need a crutch", but that arrogance blinds them to the joy of others. The older I became, the more atheist friends I have, the more I realized how wrong they are. I can see it in their lives and their choices. Now I'm old enough to see folly but I lack the strength to leave this lifestyle behind.

The only answer to finding God is through Jesus, a constant thinking of Him a communion with Him through Constant prayer. Jesus says "come unto me all that labor and are heavy laden" then he says "No one can come unto the father but by me" we can only find God through Jesus, "Sanctify them by your truth, your word is truth"(john 17:17) "I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life"(john 14:6) studying his word day and night, praying and so on, gives you a connection with God. and i know by experiance.

Amen, This song helped me at a time when I forgot who I am in him. I was thrown into self pity and being attacked in my mind and I listened to this and my spirit was lifted right back into the place in my heart that God lives. Awesome!

Everyone at school sees me as this girl thats always hyper and happy but theres sooo much they dont know they dont know that I cried myself to sleep the niht before and prayed alot. I was sittin there and just started thinkin about everythin and started cryin which is like my breakdown. I try hard to keep a smile on my face thanks for the reminder :)

@Peaceloveflutefreak hehe..crying is good...it shows that you care about the things you are praying for...and you're very strong for showing a smile when you're down...but you shouldn't always pretend to be happy and keep all your pain inside, you should talk to your friends about your problems in order to feel better about them :)

@Peaceloveflutefreak The answers to what you seek are always clear but you just need to look well and know what you really want...God is not going to let you down. By now he should've probably given you the answers, or at least a small hint about what to do since you're already praying and holding on to his love, it means that he already showed you how great his love is and showed you that he is listening.

@Peaceloveflutefreak Im 15 years old and i've been through quite a bit also. You must know that the lord is more than willing to fill it up your emptiness. Pray to him and ask him to walk with you in your faith, and He shall hold your hand as you go through this world. What happend in the past is the past and no one can change it, so ask God to forgive you for those mistakes and He said He will cast them in the sea of forgetfulness. God is going to do great things with you, i can feel it :)

@JesusFreak5101 thanks. But it wasnt mistakes I made or messing up. First there was a family member who left my heart with a scar and God helped me through it and I was so happy and praising him. then stuff started to get hard again with just growing up. Also when I was little my uncle died then a yr later my other cousin but i moved away from that now there is just some other stuff. Im trying to stay hopefull but it doesnt happen everyday.

@Peaceloveflutefreak heres something to think about: u're not alone in your struggles. Many people have the same feelings, many have cried the same tears you have cried. Even me.
I am 13 and I have been through tiring emotinal struggles. But if you have been through anything that i have been through, you will know that no one has to lay a finger on you for you to feel the slap. Sometimes I think God can't hear me- or that I'm not worthy to be heard. But others I can feel him smile. :)

And as He promised in His word, He is close to the broken hearted and He will never leave nor forsake you. Talk to Him. Even when you cant speak, He listens to your heart. @Peaceloveflutefreak Buddy, those days have to come.God considers us worthy of trials, because it's through trials that we grow and become the people God always intended us to be. The days where you feel like there's no one there who understands, there's always Jesus. He will never leave you. If you get a chance, read the first chapter of James. It will help. And then, read 2 Corinthians chapter 1. I'll be praying for you, brother! This doesn't last forever. :)

God has a plan for you and things won't always happen in your time but in his time. Just give your heart. mind and soul to God and accept that Jesus has died for your sins on the cross. Your plans might be reasonable and good but they might not be what GOD wants for you. It's time to ask what are His plans for you instead. Seek Him and wait for Him to answer. Our God is a hiding God. He hides Himself sometimes so that we would draw closer to Him. How?? By seeking Him steadfastly in prayer and worship. God inhabits the praises of His ppl.

But one thing, every time I fall down, even when I didn't make the effort to walk uprightly, GOD would lead me back to Him every, single, time. But one thing I had in me..was faith that He will lead me home...just didn't know when. Keep asking. In the time of His favour, He will bring you back. Cuz He has plans for you. :)

Yeah you got a point. I am 39 and gave my life to Jesus back in 1993. I have gone astray way too many times, but even in my most sinful days and times in the back of my mind and heart I deeply wanted to come back to Him, and have over and over again. This is a process that will consume all of your life until you are carried up by His angels into heaven to be with Him for all of eternity. Thank you Jesus for the amazing forgiveness and love which we can not fully understand. :)

@mrdefkon1 Praise the LORD that He's always faithful even when we're not. Thank GOD that He never gives up on us. \o/ But I've gotta say that the roller coaster process shouldn't consume our lives. Seasons will change and GOD will lead and test us in the wilderness sometimes, but we've got to grow out of that cycle and maintain our life with GOD. Read Jude 1:20 - 25. Blessings. :)

Very well put. It still to this day amazes me of how God can connect other Christians no matter where in the world we are. I have run into complete strangers and some how struck up a conversation about Jesus only to find out they are also Christians as well; Def. not coincidence :)

@Peaceloveflutefreak just know we all fall on our faces, but we pick keep pushing for the prize set before us. God never said it would be easy, but that he would be there with us in our darkest hours. Something that helped me was not to have a beginning but to use what I had been through to point others to Christ. There is a reason you have been through what you have trust Christ to use that to his Glory.

I was thinking the other day about how far America has gone away from God. It literally brought tears to my eyes to see how many people sin everyday & follow Satan. God is great! I was thinking of how all the believers are going to stand up to all the sinners in our country. It's a tough fight but I know God has our back. What do you think about the world going away from God? Praise Jesus I used to be an atheist until I called out to GOD to save me, and now he speaks to me inside my Soul. Because I accepted Christ, I was fired from my medical research job when God showed me I no longer need to test hypothesis or calibrate tools to find the data in my research. I became twice as productive at work and saved my department tons of money. Still I got Terminated because I love Jesus.

Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Hold on to God and let Him lead you through this hard path. I can't imagine what you are going through right now... But you can believe it will get better, and that you can trust Him to hold you when you feel like falling. And I know this holiday season won't mean much to you but I hope you have a good one.
