The Supreme Court pretty much said that no unlawful law is, or ever was, a law. Unconstitutional laws are invalid ab initio, i.e. from their inception and never even were law. But so what? Try to argue with a cop about constitutionality ;o) You'll go to jail and who knows after that? Police enforce POLICY, not law. They follow PROCEDURE, not law. There is some overlap, but only some, and the two are distinct trains of thought and differ immensely in many ways that are not fun to discover ;o)
