Great Smoky Mountains: Early April Snow

I went at the beginning of April of this year which was the week of my birthday. It was my first time in the Smokies and they were forcasting rain which depressed me because I thought it was going to ruin everything.  What I didnt realize was that it would all be snow in the higher elevations. What a treat. I got to hike in snowstorms and trudge through deep snow on my way up a snow covered mountain. One of the greatest weeks ever!
