Thanks, I use a sanyo xacti ca65 video camera which is a fairly basic watersports camera that records onto an SD card. I dont know exactly what sort of files they are but the camera comes with adobe premier 3. Ive done another version of this as the sound doesnt quite synch with the vision. Its not anything special at all but having a flip over screen helps as you can direct the camera to where you need it as you record...
Can you tell me how you videoed this please. Camera, lens, format, filetype, mic etc. I want to post a few things myself and your images and sound are far and away the easiest way to visualise learning. Many thanks for posting.
Thanks for this - really helped me get some of the finer points of the song and play it as a tribute the day after John died. Go down easy fella. cheers rick
Thank you so much for this video, i love this style of play and it helped my learn a truely magnificent song, John Martyn actually lives a few miles down the road from me! Never had the guts to say hello though!! Again thanks!
Thankyou so very much Richard for de-mystifying that song for me. Learned it in an hour instead of months. very VERY greatful to you. I shall do my bit and post up some that i know. What a great medium this is for guitar.
Lovely version of it, but you're misleading the learner players when you say you're playing it in concert tuning. Unless I'm way off the mark, you're playing it in dropped D tuning (the low E string tuned down to a D).
And, John Martyn actually plays it with his capo on the 4th fret, not the third. But, aside from those minor errors, you're actual playing is spot on. Well done.
Yeah, you're totally right. Sorry about misleading anyone. I did the first/main movie in Eb dropped D with capo on the 4th. Then I got so many requests for the tab, I decided to just do this a bit slower by which time I'd re tuned to concert pitch. Ill correct the title... thanks for pointing that out...
Many thanks for showing us how to play this beautiful song!I made a CD for my daughters to play at bedtime, calming songs by John Martyn, Nick Drake etc and they especially LOVE this song! I've always wondered how to play this piece as it sounded really tricky to learn...but not any more. Cheers! Keep up the good work.
Er, maybe I was a bit hasty in shutting down the PC - I need to take another look! Still, it was a better effort than I've ever managed before thanks to your video.
When I first heard this song I thought how am I ever gonna play that!! But thanks to you i've learnt it in a day!! Thank you very much Richard i'm extremely grateful!
sorry only just seen this.... I think this is concert pitch with a dropped D with capo on 3rd. Once you have de-tuned your e string a tone, you can put the capo any where you like really? the higher up the neck it is the easier it will be to play of course?
Ahhhh lovely.

Actually, to be clear: it's double dropped D.
Ist and 6th strings both D.
This video is very good.

Sorry, think I was wrong: just one D :-)
