@benmetcalfe8 Thanks i found that out wen i went into custom match and got 3 gender spearman each with a different armor upgrades, but how come the elvs and other characters don't have that armor appearing on them wen you upgrade them? thank you for replying.

@Boromir33 Long story short: Buy Medieval 2 Total War with Kingdoms expansion. Then go to moddb dot com and click the mods tab. There should be a search box, so type in third age total war. Click on that, then from there just download Patch 3.0 parts 1 and 2, and 3.1 while your at it. Hope this helps :)

You know, Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-earth actually incldues some written word about Dunedain/Gondorian battle, i don't know you english people say it, battle positions employed by them, and also about some of Rohans tactics.

I saw little effort to use tactics - far better to hold the orcs with your front rank, then use your rear lines to hit them in the flanks. Better still, when the orcs are about to hit the archers, move the second rank through the archers and charge in - with the archers shooting in support. The archers will have greater effect shooting in support than if they were fighting hand to hand, and may cause the enemy to run if they start firing fire arrows at the right moment.

lol, the fact is, gondor units are at least 3 times tougher than mordor or any orcs factions in the mod....

In the campaign, i played it on hard, i conquered osgiliath from the rebels, and had Lord Faramir protect it with 1537 soldiers, mordor attacked me few moments later with two armies - one had 2788 and the other had 1307 orks...I thought about quitting when i saw the odds but i stayed and lead the battle anyway...i won, killing 2200 enemies and capturing 1076- orks are EXTREMELY WEAK.

@dinsteho Because Gondorian Archers are almost as strong as Gondorian Swordsmen.

They can easily take down most orc units.

Cuz he was gonna win anyway. Tiny Morder Army with no missle troops vs equal sized Gondor army = Gondor Victory every time.

I think you shouldn't have deployed spikes - you cannot charge with cavalry at attacking infantry from behind - and Mordor doesn't have any cavalry on their own (apart from Nazguls), so spikes work strictly against you.

@reav3rtm I like the effect of spikes, plus sometimes they disrupt enemy formations giving archers the ability to fire one last volley.
