I dont care about view trackers or any of the crap i just link the video to my friends. and the site works out fine. Far as im concerned youtube (since there letting them do this) and WMG (who i dont buy anything with there label or a label affiliated with them) are doing this, fukem they wont get my money or any word of mouth and nomatter how good there artists are i wont buy.

YouTube is the one taking down/muting the videos, actually. After I filmed this video, I researched YouTube's method of finding audio and, yes, they can automatically detect if you have copyrighted music in your video. They don't measure how long much of it you have either: if it's in there, and it belongs to WMG (in some cases, Sony Music), you're going bye bye.
WMG doesn't want free advertising, and YouTube takes down the copyrighted audio regardless of length and usage. It's all so wrong.

44 seconds is fair use, but they reason they get away with shutting you down, is because nobody takes the issue up with them. I'd like to see them defend 44 seconds not being fair use properly in court, the case would be a laughing stock.

My favorite fan made MV was taken down yesterday. It withstood for a good 4 years. I'm so pissed. If I had never seen that fan made video, I never would have been interested in Linkin Park, never would have bought their cd's or have gone to their concerts. @DJ17Nario it usually doesnt (from experience and from hearsay) but i just upload the videos to another site i found. I dont care about view trackers or any of the crap i just link the video to my friends. and the site works out fine. Far as im concerned youtube (since there letting them do this) and WMG (who i dont buy anything with there label or a label affiliated with them) are doing this, fukem they wont get my money or any word of mouth and nomatter how good there artists are i wont buy.

My freind had a video not hs he was using it as the video for his channel and it got copy wrighted by WMG and usllay it would say it got a copywright from WMG or something like that but WMG hacked him got into his account and the video was gone and was set as something else. weird cuz the law says 10% but since when do they care. in fact they are commiting (what i believe, not technically though) wronglful prosecution, (but not technically because they aren't law enforcement and there is no legal infrastructure to what they can do on their website) but they are definitely impeding your right of creative expression i haven't takien any hardcore law couses but illegal or not you have a right to creative expression.

YouTube is the one taking down/muting the videos, actually. After I filmed this video, I researched YouTube's method of finding audio and, yes, they can automatically detect if you have copyrighted music in your video. They don't measure how long much of it you have either: if it's in there, and it belongs to WMG (in some cases, Sony Music), you're going bye bye.
WMG doesn't want free advertising, and YouTube takes down the copyrighted audio regardless of length and usage. It's all so wrong.

WMG has requested that their music be muted/removed from YouTube, and YouTube is not only not resisting but also aiding their request by automatically taking down music/videos while also disregarding Fair Use. Both are to blame.

44 seconds is fair use, but they reason they get away with shutting you down, is because nobody takes the issue up with them. I'd like to see them defend 44 seconds not being fair use properly in court, the case would be a laughing stock.
My advice is to not purchase any of their stuff again, I haven't purchased any of fox's nonesense again, I still watch it now though ;)
You also don't own the rights to the couch design, your t-shirt, the mirror, even the camera! Better do it all in blackness

But then you buy a T-Shirt from your favorite band and wear it in public. You don't own the rights to the band, and yet you are allowed to wear their shirt in public.
AND THEN, you could sing Happy Birthday at a birthday party, but if royalties weren't paid to WMG then the performance is illegal.

WMG has to be the worst for this kind of thing.
1) They check the first 30 secs of a vid.
2) They scan tags.
3) They watch known "offenders" accounts.
4) They flag certain individuals who frequently search for these kinds of videos and they use them to find the copyrighted vids.
5) If a vid has too many views it's examined for copyrighted material.
6) If a vid has too many favs it's also examined or going back to #4 if they find this vid faved by one a user they use the link to get to it.

My favorite fan made MV was taken down yesterday. It withstood for a good 4 years. I'm so pissed. If I had never seen that fan made video, I never would have been interested in Linkin Park, never would have bought their cd's or have gone to their concerts. All WMG is doing is digging themselves an early grave. How can we buy the music if we don't know it exists? Radios are talk all day, MTV don't play no MV anymore!
