  • to me it looked like raymer wanted a raise with his pre flop flat call he looked smug, i know its easy for me to say but i think i may have thrown my 4 away after the flop reraise

  • are they making out in the end??

  • These poker sites are lame and I know I was cheated out by some non-human program that collects my money. How is it that when I have been playing on real live webcam poker on pokerview there are no crazy fuking bad beats.

  • How does the 2 on the turn improve Williams's hand?

  • @tstohs1

because in his mind he's putting Raymer on 2 high cards, so in his mind he is getting further and further ahead.

  • congrats to david williams on his wpt win

  • Comment removed

  • my bet was on Williams on this heads up even if raymer has better skills as he showed, williams has the 'Cloutier's luck' gettin 2nd place at every tournament he is in.

  • @dratel1202

Lmao, If you want to play 1 on 1 my FTP username is vieyo4533 :D

    And yeah

Full Tilt last friday announced on their facebook fan site that a new player could go to their website, then register an account usin the bonus code SPECIALS.

It's a amazing promo offer. Your first deposit will be DOUBLED + a few other awesome perks. Its only going work for the first 2500 people that create an account using it

  • Why is everyone saying Williams made a bad call on the river? It was the right call, OK he lost the hand, but on a board like that with someone betting so heavily into it, to me it looks like they have two high cards. There's no way he put him on a pocket pair, a deuce or a five, and A-3 would have played a lot slower then that to induce the all-in.

And for God's sake Raymer, take those fucking stupid glasses off, the joke's over. It was never even funny in the first place. You look silly.

  • @retroherb i agree. the glasses were FUCKING annoying. but i think they were to unsettle the opponent.

  • @haroonKS - When did I say that? I said the hands that will pay you off on the flop are: AA-88, any set, any 2 pairs, and a bunch of hands that are drawing dead. Although that's rare as any pair is drawing to a backdoor fullhouse and then there is the wide possibilities of a backdoor flush.

  • amateur

  • david williams really seems like he didnt give a shit. HO HUM oh well, at least i made it this far, ill just call it off with a pair of fours. he could have missed diamonds.

  • In 2002, 2003 & 2004 the final hand was a FULL House.

  • horrible call river, he can only beat a bluff

  • I wonder if david williams could have called the bets any faster?

  • "yeahhhhhh" What a strange finale LOL

  • Greg Raymer = Professor Frink

  • why does the guy look sad with 3.5M? if i'm guaranteed 3.5M i would have just went all in every round to either get 5M or just get out of there asap

  • @ryunaki agreed,

  • @ryunaki Thats why you are not there.

  • @Shaitan00 neither r u

  • @ryunaki true to an extent but wouldnt u wanna win? the way i look at it is that 3.5 is safe butto come out the winner is what most ppl want/crave to go down in poker history as a bracelet winner and to be recognised as a champion the money is just a bonus. thats what i think anyway

  • haaaaaa ha ur a joke

anyone capable of playing poker well enough to play poker professionally has a much higher iq than you or most likely anyone youll ever know

  • @blueandnow racist cunt shut up

  • wifr; OOOOH MYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD

  • lol

  • raymer is a good poker player well avege but hes thinks hes god poker player

  • i hate when donks win the wsop

  • Hahaha... Raymer is a donk?

He won a sattellite for 2004 wsop and won it also and in 2005 came in 25 place..

And I'm not talking about other wsop tournaments..

  • I love the Raymer scream at 2:43. Legend

  • i hate raymer so much. hes a good player and all but i mean he annoys me. i dont know why. maybe its the glasses.

  • I love how Raymer looks into the crowd as he raises

  • @WuTangShogunEST i think he's looking at the tournament director, i could be wrong though

  • how the hell did you call that williams any five or pocket pair and your done...

  • 33?

  • He was pot-committed and he was hoping raymer was bluffing. He also had a straight draw and an ace or a 5 would give him the lead.

  • thanks for that, are you some sort of pro?

  • Thanks for the sarcasm, are you some sort of giant douchebag?

  • nope but you clearly are. surely a 5 gives them both 2 pair.

  • I meant a 4. How am I a douche, im just curious..

  • Comment removed

  • LMAO. Spaz convention!

  • nah more like 550... 300 and 250???

  • @mt1221 thats the best fucking comment ive seen on a youtube!!!!! ahhahhahah

  • By the river, the only hand that Raymer is repping is 44 (unlikely because williams has a 4), 55 and 66 (could reraise). He would've reraised with 77 88 99 TT etc. which is more of a standard play. It worked out for Raymer because the board was good but with pocket 8s, you're going to face a lot of overcards by the river, which is why you want to reraise preflop and either take it down or take it down on the flop.

  • I don't know how raymer plays in heads-up but that flop would usually completly miss a competent big blind's range. In the big blind, you want strong hands to make up for the positional disadvantage you have. There is very small range of strong hands raymer have and very wide range of semi-bluffs.

Hands that beat Williams is 44 22 (unlikely after the turn) 55 and 66. All higher pocket pairs, he would reraise preflop

Raymer could have 67, 78 and very wide range of hands that have a flush draw

  • Raymer's about the nicest guy to win WSOP ME, recently.

  • i would of folded. But thats just me. Even if i put him on two over cards i would of fold.

  • LOL thats why u suck at poker and will never make money and that these guys are millionaire.. keep folding son way to make alot of money

  • Williams overplayed his hand big time. If not from Raymer's check-raise on the flop he should have realized he was beat by the turn.

  • 90% of the people that comment on poker have zero experience live and especially don't know how it feels to be in that situation. Even a small tournament win makes you feel great, how many people have that experience in here? I'm especially talking to all the people who act like professional poker players on youtube comments?

  • @zalmi1 i like this comment iv only won 3 tourneys 2 of them bein satalites the 1 i won was a 60 pence rebuy i won £38 and never rebought to win was so satisfactory and i didnt really give a shit about the money. my biggest cash in £78 and that was a 22nd place finish again i wantd atleast final table and was disapointed with that result, my biggest cash table pot is £172, when i comment i only comment on what i would of done regardless weather any1 thinks its right or wrong

  • terribly played by williams.

sure u can call the flop, hope 2 spike the ace/3 or 4.

but seriously, when the turn came & raymer keeps bettin like that, he shouldve just mucked.

  • sometimes, when i read poker comments im feeling a stone in my stomach getting heavier and heavier as more comments i read. there are so many poker donkeys on youtube

  • yay raymer can finally buy that notfat wife he always wanted

  • haha haha!

  • I don't like Raymer, it's an asshole like mike matusow

  • He improved from 67% to 80%.

  • Williams improved to 20%, Then on the river he improved yet again, to 0%.

  • "The board paires. Williams keeps improving his hand:"

    Umm, no.

  • <_<

his hand is improved from 1 pair to 2 pair.

  • Yes, and on the river he improved to a full house. Lucky dog.

So Sammy, on a AAAA2 board with you holding 22 (pocket deuces) what do you do?

    A. Bet the farm

    B. Check it down, fold if it's a bet to you.

    C. Call

  • just saying it was improved ... the announcer is not wrong by saying that.

He said he keeps improving his hand, but its obviously a bad thing, because the card also improves reymers hand, and he has the best hand. The announcers intention was to show how the card could potentially get him into trouble since he keeps improving.

his win percentage decreases but he doesn't know that. To him, hes improving his hand.

  • u cant just make up a hypothetical situation and ask someone what to do. it wont work because you dont also include the bets, the pot size, the amount of chips each player has, the position, and what type of player the other person is. what one person would do would be dependent on all of those things i just listed.

  • Ok then. Same situation but there is $1 million in the pot. Opponent moves all-in with his last $10. What do you do?

  • Comment removed

  • this is seriously the dumbest situation ever. REALLY. 1) why the fuck does your opponent ONLY have $10 left on the river in a $1 million pot? 2) is this a even hard question? 3) why do you even list 3 options? its basically head to showdown or fold and save $10 because your opponent isnt giving up the hand no matter what.

  • 1. Just because

    2. No

    3. The only correct answer is fold. "because your opponent isnt giving up the hand no matter what": That's not correct. Your opponent is out of options once he is all-in. Fold is the only correct answer because you can't win.

  • yes i know that the correct answer is to fold but its only $10 in a $1 million pot. if your playing for that big of a pot, im assuming the stakes are really high and $10 is chump change. that was the dumbest hypothetical situation ive ever seen. if you call, oh well, you lose $10 + all the money that you put in the pot. you fold, well you save $10 but you still lose half the amount in the pot that you put in it. grats, you save $10 which means nothing when you play for this high stakes.

  • lawl l2p poker nubly

  • yeah his hand is improved.

    Flop, Pair 4s

Turn, 2 pair duece and 4s

River, Full house 2s over 4s

I think that is called improving a hand....

The only thing williams didn't know is that Raymer was also improving his hand and had a higher pair.....

  • No that is called moving up in hand rankings. If the board pairs it really don't improve your hand unless you hold one of those cards as your pockets. If you were behind on the flop you are still behind when the board pairs. That's not an improvement. Basically the only time a board pairing will turn your hand into the better hand is when you hold a pocket pair and your opponent made two pairs holding a two non-paired cards hand. Assuming your pp were higher than your opponents.

  • SHORT AND SIMPLE

BOTH of them improved their hands from one pair to two pair.

    Williams' pot equity decreases.

    Raymer's pot equity increases.

    DONE.

  • Also, just because your hand improves, it doesn't mean your pot equity also increases.

  • You are a tool. Suppose you have 98 of hearts, flop comes out 765 with two hearts. Turn is the Ace of hearts, did your pot equity improve? I'll let the donks answer this question.

What about AK on KQJ flop and turn card is an Ace... ?

  • you cant really figure if your pot equity improves or not unless you put your opponents on a range of hands. in this situation, your pot equity is a mathematical estimation which varies between what you put your opponents on.

  • With 98 on a 765 flop your opponent will pay you off with a WIDE range of hands. AA-88, any set, any two pairs and has a zero % chance of beating you.

With the Ah on the turn, a new range of hands come out that could actually beat your so-improved flush hand. Also, hands KK-88 will be reluctant to pay you off and even 2 pairs will be scared of the flush.

What hand could your opponent possibly want to pay you with on that turn but not so much on the flop? A7-AK with a heart preferably.

  • Williams were behind pre-flop, on the flop, the turn and the river. Way to improve a hand. I'm done with this. You guys go ahead and get all excited the next time you "improve" your hand by pairing the board.

  • he think he got straight lol

  • idiot

  • stfu ur moms commnd biach

  • too bad... but come on 3.5 million dollars!!!

  • 2.43 FTW

  • what a badddddd call .. damn

he played it so bad .. godd

  • williams played it so bad lol

  • I kinda have to agree with you. Williams completely didn't take into consideration the possibility of pockets

  • 3:05 - poor David - $3 500 000 :)

  • LoL poor second place guy has to settle for 3.5 million...bummer

  • these guys are already rich enough, even though 3.5 mil is a lot, they wanted the title as 2004 WSOP main event champion more than the 1st prize money reward

  • him and his missius straight to mcdonolds, then kfc, then pizza hut, rather then a pub crawl its a fast food crawl, fat fuckin yanks

  • and he still got mor money than u u lameass fuck..

  • who knows... u can do alot with money..

  • this was 5 years ago hes the same now

  • yeah.. but he still got alots of cash.. and how much money do u have,, ? he wins more money in one year than u earn in 10 years..

  • i have my own company.. and i make money so i can live ;) still not a lowlife as u are ;)

  • y is williams so fucking hyper and calling aggressively. he must have been pretty disappointed at his play after watching himself on tv.

  • RAYMER IS A BEAST.

i think he definitely outplayed the entire field and deserved what he won.

Now, I would like to Viktor Ramdin win it. He's got a lot of heart.

  • raymer's a fat prick

  • seconded

  • what a donk man..what did williams think he had stupid ass 5 he loses a 2 he loses..a 4 would only be split and anyover pair

he thinks hes gonna go allin with less then a 4 ..dumbass

  • He can't be to dumb if he made it to heads up for the world series title

  • there was only like 1000 or 200 ppl in that 1 plus he just could got lucky the whole game like jamie gold and and jerry yang

  • Do you know what a bluff is?

  • yea hes really gonna bluff.....this close to 1st place

  • that was a shocker of a hand by williams

  • Raymer and the family - Sponsored by McDONALDS!!!

    FFS, lose some weight!

  • Pshh, dave's a better magic player anyway.

  • I like David's preflop and flop bets, and don't mind the call to see the turn... but calling the turn is bad imo without specific reads. You would have to have a really strong read that Raymer was double barreling into a customer that didn't look like he was going away.

  • i really like raymer as a player.. he went deep again in 2005

  • boy, do i wish Kanter hadn't sucked out on him late in that tourney...

  • wow, that was horrible, david is on poker after dark and I can see why he didnt win, he bluffs alot and plays bad in showdowns.

He should have known once raymer went all in he had atleast a pair of pocket 5s or better. Bad call.

  • how can you play a showdown.. when the showdown happens the playing is over.. :D

  • Greg Raymer eats too many fatty foods

  • why is williams improving his hand on the turn!??

  • because his hand keeps getting better but still worse than Raymer's.

  • take your time dam, that the Min event final, never appear again for Williams

  • "I'm a quick thinker," Williams says. "I always play like that, and I also thought I was ahead, so it didn't take me much time. I went with my gut--and that's usually the right thing to do. People say I should have slowed down. They say if I had, I would have figured it out. But it's like, no, I still would have called."

This is from a Dallas Observer article on the dave williams.

  • "The only hands that beat me there are three-six and ace-three [to make straights], or a five and [a higher] pair would beat me," Williams says. "But...I thought I was ahead in the hand. If not, I had nine outs." (Meaning if he wasn't already ahead, any one of nine cards remaining in the deck could make his hand the winner.)

Rather than call this time, Raymer raised $1.6 million. Williams instantly called. It was the quick reaction that drew the most criticism from poker pundits.

  • Williams had what he thought was a good "read" (a combination of calculation, observation and instinct that gives you a feel for what your opponent might be holding). It turned out to be the wrong read--something that happens to every player. It just happened to Williams at the worst possible moment. The flop came down two-four-five. Raymer, in good shape with a pair of eights, craftily checked. Williams, who made a pair of fours, figured the flop didn't help Raymer. He bet $500,000.

  • Williams had ace-four off-suit and only about half of Raymer's chips, a distinct disadvantage when playing heads-up. He decided to play aggressively and led with a $300,000 raise. Raymer casually called with a pair of eights.

"He didn't look at it for too long, so I didn't think he had a pair," Williams says. "A pair of eights, heads-up, is usually a hand where you have to stop and think how you want to play it. Do you want to call or re-raise? But it takes a second."

  • The first hand in which they engaged each other also happened to be the last of the 35th Annual World Series of Poker. It's a hand that's been much discussed on Internet poker sites, one that will be dissected ad nauseam when ESPN airs the final installment.

  • Greg Raymer is the best WSOP Main Event Champ since the "poker boom" was started by Moneymaker.

  • 2:43 im laughing so HARD!!! hahahaa

  • lollllllll

  • when did this orignially air

  • probably 2004

  • I meant the exact date, LOL I know it was 2004

  • Williams looked like a complete donkey on that hand. Raymer was showing strength the whole hand how could he think his four was good?

  • He didn't have the benefit of seeing Raymer's hole cards like we did.

  • A 1.6 million raise on the flop, a 2.5 million chip bet on the turn and an all in on the river. Would Raymer be doing that without a 5, 2, or higher pair? Learn how to play cards.

  • Ace 3 and 3 5 also has Williams killed. It was a hideously bad call regardless of what you think.

  • * 3 6

  • Ace-3 does not have him killed. Last time

I checked, a full house beats a straight.

  • haha Greg's shout when he wins, 2.40
