  • I can't believe this was what my maternal grandpa had to suffer after The Fall of Saigon. I was born in South Vietnam 26 years after this civil war was forcibly ended and the communist government had taught me propaganda in school. Luckily, I was not so blind. Every history book regarding to Vietnam War was written differently from what exactly happened. They always call this tragic event "The Liberation of the South" with no record of "reeducation camps" or "Vietnamese refugees". What a shame.

  • Incredible movie. Painful, powerful, meaningful. Will never forget this movie, and the suffering of the people of Viet Nam. God help, God heal the broken families, the broken hearts of Viet Nam. God's blessings and eternal love to you, the people of Viet Nam. With prayers, from USA

  • Great movie, made a lot of young vietnamese Australians understand what their parent's went through for a better life.

  • My wife and I watched this movie last night and she cried. Her parents were the boat people and her aunt died from starving during the escape.

    Very touching story.

  • South Vietnam was a puppet of America. A corrupt military dictatorship, who only survived thanks to billions of dollars. North Vietnam was no puppet, to no nation. They were nationalists and not really communist at all.

But that doesn't mean that the North was less brutal. The Stalinists of the Vietnamese ''Workers'' Party were very inhuman to their prisoners. I have no doubts that the concentrations camps were very hard en brutal. Stalinist Vietnam was in the end, just another dictatorship.

  • @UDSS north vietnam was china and russia's puppet.......u obviously dont know shit...now fuck off....

  • @whatthephokingheo You're the one one who doesn't know what he's talking about.

North Vietnam received help from China and Russia because they knows it was necessary that time (if they want to to win the war). But no, they were not puppets, they were nationalist. Now, the "they" that I'm talking about is the "they" during Ho Chi Minh reign. After he dies though, is a different story.

  • @hacksign000 ho chi minh is a faggot

  • This is only the trailer and it made me cry.

  • Im actually a vietnamese. . . my family had the same cause on that boat it was all verry true and painful to watch someone else's family get killed

  • I was born in Vietnam, I never knew why Vietnamese can be found living all over the world now. It is a memory. We should learn from the mistake from the past instead of making arguments on youtube. Hatred can only bring pain, war can only bring miseries. Why people chose to hate is beyond me, but let them get eaten up by their hatred. I can only do so much. I can never hate anymore, I am tire of crying too. Once I stop hating, I realize, it was then, I was & am Free. physically and spiritually

  • love this movie and it should win an Emmy or Oscar awards. I guess there is still too much racism America, so thats y it is not easy for Asian American films, artist to win anything lol Even the Black is having the hard time of winning anything lol How many Color people were actually on or even win anything during the last 2010 Oscar Award show??

  • fuck ho chi minh

more like fuck ho cho cuc

  • the story was good, but poor acting.....bad cast.

  • @THETOYOTAable actually the acting was pretty good. kieu chinh did a great job. only problem i had was the main character, it's like he's always whispering, i couldn't hear him.

  • Love the movie.

In response to some of the posted comments here...I feel both sides have their reasons, but of course some are bad and some are good. Mainly any "idea" can start out good and the bad people, VC or Americans, can turn the "idea" to their own use and can make it bad or good. The sad thing is that the innocent people caught in between became victims and suffered. So whether you have a justified reason for what you do or not, ask yourself if it worth the suffering of others

  • I like the part where the guard beats up the prisoner with the opium pipe lol.

  • good movie, cried a lot.

  • @99tran

You are right, after the war many communist cadres get too power hungry. But If it was during only proud vietnamese support communist. Look at how americunts feel about the war, the make fun of killing civilians and treat south vietnamese people bad. They killed more civilians in south than north. In the french war, america offered to sell france atomic bombs to keep vietnam under french control. You still think they give a fuck about your freedom?

  • american only want to kill and rape gooks, you sell out your country and let them. Your traitors deserve to die. WE protected our people from foriegn invaders. Because of us, we saved many lives. True fact many times s. vietnam soldiers watched u.s soldeirs rape innocent viet women and the s. vietnam soldiers cheered and then joined in helped u.s. soldiers rape innocent girls. someone say VC put people in cage, no only the traitor were put in cage. Why do viet-american hate your own people?

  • why vietnamese-american so stupid, american dont care baout communist, they give milliosn of dollars to support communist polpot. It is true fact, look it up i am not wrong, they only want to steal our land. you vichoco are only mad we VC kill you and ban you traitors form your homeland. don't sell out your country, by 1973 communist china was on YOUR side. justify that. you can't. it was never about communism. loser viet-ameri cant even speak correct viet.

  • @Nationalacr0bat you shut the hell up! Not every Vietnamese, especially inside Vietnam, support the Viet Cong. We aren't traitors! Look at what you did to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, you let the Beijing regime to takeover those islands and after you defeat the South in 1975, you let the Soviets occupy Cam Ranh Bay!! Stop being hypocritical!!

  • i love this film.

  • brought me to tears... I was once boat people

  • whats the name of this this theme song? its perfect gonna be perfect for this anzac presentation.

  • histories of VIEtnam north and south fighting ! this story is told in 1975 look all the people just messed up .... i can't believe in my eye felt sad for those who in the south ! DAMN it communisim !

  • in some dictatorship countries, the govt dictates wat u see, and spread prop. movies, aye, those are true, but in america, the whole mind imprisonment is brought to a whole new level, if you don't see that in the media, they take stereotypes as obvious fact

why am I posting this anyways... ppl will never get it

  • My parents are vietnamese and have went through soo much and here today they are still sufferening from the past. Americans did NOTHING for vietnam but cause more casualties. Both of my aunts died from the bombs of the supposedlly 'helping americans'. I do not hate Americans. But seriously focus on your problems unless they 'ASK' for your help.

  • From what I recall, the South Vietnamese govt. wouldn't have lasted as long as it did without help from the US and its allies. I for one, am thankful for America's involvement, the price they paid in blood, to try and bring democracy to Vietnam. My parents too, are Vietnamese, came to the US and too suffered. But they made the best of a bad situation, and live a decent living. I'm thankful for what America has to offer me, and am proud to serve my country.

  • That's your opinion and YOU are the thankful one. Your family members didn't die by the hands of the American troops and by the way Vietnam is not Democratic. My family suffered even worst when the American got involved. I \have nothing against the American troops in General. I am an American. I just don't want them meddling with my country. I don't see why Americans feel the need to get involved with things that have nothing to do with them.

  • I said South Vietnam was a democratic country, not Vietnam. My family did suffer too, my grandfather lost his business, my uncle died, and my other uncle's wife and child died. My dad, uncles, and godfather were ARVN soldiers and each spent over 15 years in "reeducation" camps. What do you mean "YOU are the thankful one"; it says in your profile that you live in US,are you not thankful for being able to live here, and the opportunities you have?Would you rather be living in Vietnam now?I hope not

  • I am thankful for the Acceptance of America. We came over here through a boat. BUT I am not thankful for the Americans coming over back then and got involved with something that had nothing to do with them.

  • @hotvietboi123 i rather be hardened by being raised in vietnam then the probable monster of i am to dae, the viet people i know are not viet they are canadian, as i still try but being drowned by media in canada i am not as what i am shud be.

  • Americans / NATO truly feared the spread of communism. Thats why they intervene. I use to think that the US shouldn't have intervened in the war between the south and north. But when I think about it, if they didnt, my parents and I would not have been given the chance to attend college and live a pretty happy life.

  • aw shit im still stubborn lol fk the americans

  • At least the United States allowed many of the Southern people to become citizens in the country. Plus Reagan became very popular with the Vietnamese people in america due to his actions during his presidency. But yea...I do agree though that Cold War conflicts caused my casualties .

  • @SushiSayWhat

You are one ungrateful person! How dare you say U.S shouldn't have gotten involved in vietnam when the end result is you have the luxury of living in the states if it weren't for U.S involvement. If U.S left vietnam to its fate you would be in the rice fields right now thinking otherwise! Its an absolute blessing U.S got involved to give us viets a fighting chance. They "tried" to help vietnam and thats what matters!

  • Hey, note the username "SushiSayWhat". The person can be Japanese, therefore not knowing anything about the Vietnam War. I am Vietnamese-Chinese and can say that this person is highly offensive to both Vietnamese people and Americans overall. My dad was 1st Liutenant of the South Vietnamese Marine Corps and he fought the communists ass, became a prisoner of war for a few months, and met my mom at a Malaysian refugee camp, in which my mom was one of the boat people and her story awes me a lot.

  • For all you people who believe U.S shouldn't have gotten involved in Vietnam here's a thought:

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing"

  • @chain8899 you are retarded. the south vietnamese goverment did worst things than the north. they killed buddhists and were a corrupt regium. If vietnam was ruled by the south they would destroy the nation and many more would suffer..

  • @wakeupcoffeeandjuice yet you never mentioned a word of the Hue Massacre? And the raids today of the catholic church and buddhist church

  • @chain8899

The USA used napalm to burn civilians, used defoliants to deform the landscape and in the end killed more than a million people. Are the USA the ''good men''?

  • @chain8899 then how do you explain the 'my lai' incident?

  • the main character is my teacher in Art Institute, and I'm proud of him!!

    very cool guy!!! = ]

  • omg. fantastic film - enjoyed it from start to finish. i found a copy at "bigmovies4free" - hope they make another :P

  • wow, good movie its online at 'bigmovies4free' ! seen it twice already lol found it funny :)

  • This film is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my dad and uncle had to escape from a boat

  • this is what had happen to my grandpa. he was captured and put in jail for 4 years because he was rich and the government just wanted his money so when he was released, a couple months later, he was caught again and put in jail for another 4 and half years. it was just terrible!

  • "Nobody was correct"

war seems to be all the same

  • I didn´t watch, but this film seem to show american side is the correct,

  • Nobody was correct, the commies among the other atrocities because they helped introduce communism to the Pathet Lao and the Khmer Rouge, and the Americans for killing so many innocent people then just leaving Vietnam. The americans never cleaned the situation up so it kept on going. It's because of us Americans that the Laos Commies are hunting the Lao Hmong, one of our allies in the Vietnam war, to extinction.

  • MY BROTHER IS IN THAT FILM! He was too fat for the clothes. He's lost weight since then. His name is Fernando. He goes uncredited seeing as he is just a minor character. :) Some of it was shot at Franklin, his elementary school.

  • I was in the movie!!!!!! i think i know your brother!!! i was an extra but it was soo much fun! i met so many nive people~

  • i have this movie and like it too

  • i need to watch this movie!

  • She's so cute, her face is like a mouse :D

  • When I watch Diem Lien it makes me feel all warm and tingly... Well maybe just tingly XD

  • Yeah.. when I watched this movie.. it made me cry. My family was one of those ppl who had to go on boat.. and wut happened on there.. was all... true.

  • @jessicaaa3978 my family was in the same situation ~ ..

  • @jessicaaa3978 same my grandpa he got shoot in the eye.

  • If you liked this movie, I recommend "Green Dragon". The action was not spectacular, however the powerful, thought-provoking story coupled with a beautiful cast of actors make it a must see for Vietnamese refugees who live through this experience. This was my story. My family was at Camp Pendleton. It was both an American movie as much as it was a movie made for the Vietnamese people. Swayze speaks Viet!!!

Directed by Timothy Linh Bui 2001

    starring: Patrick Swayze, Forest Whitaker

  • being a part of this movie was great!!:D

  • may they burn in hell

  • man, what a good trailer, shit, i cry wtf

  • IF ANYONE KNOW WHAT THAT SONG THAT KHANH LY SANG NEAR THE END WAS... plz tell u. u know the part when the lady said "i did not know u were so romantic" and the guy puts on the song in a cassete player. plz tell me!

  • This really looks like a excellent film, it's a shame that I can't find this film anywhere where I live... I really want to see this

  • you can probably find it on amazon. visit the website and you can see where you can buy them at.

  • wonderful number 1 movie, I am so proud to be Vietnamese (South Vietnamese, that's it)

  • Just be proud to be a Vietnamese North or South. The war happens as a result of the leaders the French/American/North/South. The lower ranking soldiers had to follow their orders. The people are the victim. It's always the politicians/military leaders. They messed up, we pay the price.

  • fucking vietcong bring poor vietnam in s.

i hope i can fight in last stand and thanks for U.S.A. bring us to american.By the way, i hope my can see 3 line flag in v.

  • this movie was really sad and i cried

  • Why didn't they Stay D:

  • Cause the war was going nowhere and America was losing more and more troops against a suprisingly superior enemy.

  • they didn't stay, because of the politics back in America. You can't fight a war defensively. The South Vietnam only start lose, when Americans stop shipping weapons, bullets, etc. While Viet Cong had continuous supply from Russia/China.

Saigon in 1960-75 was one of the most beautiful cities in Asian. Now it just average.

  • American left VietNam becuz they want to win the Cold War again Russia and becuz of John Kerry, not becuz they want to let South VN die. It is American strategy by letting VN go in order to safe the world from the Nuclear War between the US and Russia at that time. Plus, the North Vietnamese won the war becuz they were cunning and the breached the Peace Treaty in 1962 and after the US left VN .

  • it wasn't a strategy to win the cold war. When the communist broke the peace agreement, at that time there wasn't any major economic or political gain for the USA to continue to support S. Vietnam. Basically countries do things for short-term the benefits not any moral or humanistic ideals. Think about Dalfur. How little we have truely changed since the time humans crawl out of cave dwellings.

  • You know the reason the USA pulled out of the Vietnam Civil War is because of the Democrats in America.

The Republicans wanted to continue the war and win it, and we would have won the war if we would have had the support.

  • It was the intention of the U.S to pull out of Vietnam as soon as Uncle Sam manage to "shake hands" with China. Remember the infamous ping-pong match in Forrest Gump? The actual match took part in April 1974. And not surprisingly, The Republic of Vietnam is "defeated" 1 year later, 30 April 1975.

  • Why? you might ask. Generally, 2 things that the U.S will benefit from:

1/The war was not a successful event, it costs them a lot money with no promise of future interest. While in America, politics is not going terribly well, the Democratic Convention was a big mess. They had to pull out.

  • 2/But they will not going home empty handed. So they go "partying" with the Chinese officials, asking for cheap labor trading for territorial control. The China will take care of the Indochina area, U.S retreat with something they'll be happy for a fews years of hard work. Thus, you have the "made in china" product today. Not to mention they can now concentrate on cleaning the mess at home and focusing on the real potential threat at the time, the soviet union.

  • just a side note, but although the communists were allies they are not very much in fond of each other. Evidently, China always look forward to dominating its little related neighbor, Vietnam. So, I have to say the plan worked out REALLY well. What do you see? Soviet broke(then Russia is now a good friend of the U.S), And Communist of China? only a name, their spinal economy is almost entirely based on capitalisms. The same for vietnam and cuba today.

  • Last but not least, I would doubt that N.Korean fate will be any different from its fellow brothers. Communism will sooner or later become history. Political oppression? Hardly. It's more like a natural survival process.

  • To live and to live well, are the priority goals of any living beings. A political way that emphasize those values is the winner in the end, no matter what. In this case, The Free World Countries serve as the prime example. A Capitalism based economy in addition to proper federal government control will be a fundamental compass for the growth of mankind civilization for Centuries to come.

  • correction: the ping-pong exhibition match took part in April 1971, from the 11th to 17th. You can get more info on this by googling NIXON'S CHINA GAME. PBS webpage.

  • During WWII is was the USA that liberated China from the Imperial Japanese and after that the Chinese Government turned right around and stabbed the USA in the back and sided with the Communist Vietnamese and Koreans.

If it wasn't for the USA during WWII the people of China would be part of Japan today.

  • I agree 112%.

  • long nguyen is my instructor at my art school, very funny and modest guy. after watching the trailer, i definitely gonna watch it now.

  • ... my parents made it to america in those boats...i appreciate them more now that i saw this movie.

  • fucking communist!

  • sad, but one of the greatest movies ever.

  • this movie is so sad, i really want to see it

  • my gramma died while in the boat..... i miss her and i hope that she will live vey well in heaven because she was a very good person the took care of my parents and i am born. i am very thankful and hope that she is in heaven watching our every movement

  • the NVA & VC were pretty fucked, going into a village wanting to recrute ppl, when they would refuse the NVA/VC would take the head honcho of the village cut open his stomach and let the wild pigs eat his intestines All while he was still alive. they did worse things to Our captured U.S. Soldiers.

  • my mum wants to watch this

  • Thats so sad. It looks like a good movie.

  • i want to see this movie seem like got good movie to watch

  • its was a good movie you would cry its really sad

  • what song did khanh ly sing in this movie in the last scene?

  • the scariest part for me was when the boat was attacked by the pirates. in one scene a pirate slit this little boy's throat and then raped his mom.

  • GTFO.

  • i know it was so sad,,,,,,,felt pretty bad for the boy....

  • it makes me cry watching this trailer :'(

  • listen to you, crying out for the master USA hahhahahahaha, you people really wanted to be slave of a foreign master. one thing for you to remember, it's the pride of the Vietnamese, even we rich, we poor, doesn't matter what, but we own Vietnam. Vietnam is independent. nothing is more precious than having freedom & independence. War is well over 30 years ago, why you still crying? time to move on, don't you think?

  • yeah we'll if u say "its viet pride"...this story is one of the biggest in the viet history

and we cant forget this it has marked many lives

    great movie btw

  • How do you think like this ?

  • can't wait, the music teacher at my high school was co-conductor and helped write the music

  • why does it take so long to load this

  • not for me.

  • I agree with you

  • who can say it didn`t happen? you? i do not think so. listen and learn. then you talk. don`t take side you weren`t there.

  • I have been listen and learned from both side, only the "insider" as sonv say, couldn't listen to the freedom world.

  • search youtube for "diem cause of vietnam war", to see who really caused the war. VNCH refused to go for the election fearing they would lose, & commited terror acts to get North involve in war. By the way, this video is made by your so called free world. now you learn.

  • God damn it, how long it takes you to understand VN war was happened way beforeeeeeeeee Diem elcetive, study more man, your knowlege isn't enough to agrue with me!

  • I suggest you watch documentaries video clips on my favorite lists, to see who is the real evil.

  • Jesus Christ! Not anything on internet is real and true, I've read books about Vnwar from New York Public Library ( the bank of human knowledge!)and damn,, you don't know a single thing about history book of freedom world! if you believe in internet stuff that much then go to Youtube search and search for: Cong An danh nguoi and Chung Toi muon duoc song, i own't give a shit for a person too believe in internet stuff like you.

  • sad thing is, you like most americans just don't want to hear the truth, 9/11 is an inside job, Irag war is for oil & preserve the dollars, economy including the US dollars will be collapsed before your eyes. Just when you're out of home, your money worth nothing then you wake up. 'till now keep dreaming in your free fantasy land, so called the freeworld which you are free to do what the gov. told you to do. you're so brained washed.

  • stupid ass don't try to copy my word, fool! yet the Us money is collapes right now but, it still using as a international money, when I tried to change Vn money over here to US dollar, they don't even know is it real money or not, shut up fool, This is a free coutry under the law, it doesn't force you to do anything unless it cause harm to the society as crime, terrorist invlove, you could say what ever you want, follow what ever religion you want!

  • All you know about other this country is from Hollywood movies and damn communist television, you odn't even have your own though! GET A LIFE BITCH!

  • How do you know 9/11 was an inside work? are you working for the gov. or you just watch on this damn internet again??

  • Why are you carrying on the fight?

  • By the way, Religon in south was free, Mennonites sponserd people to canada and united states to live. Also, its a fuucken disgrace to name a city ho chi minh, he told the people he was a man with no wive(s). When he died, how many wives and grandchildren of his popped up? iuno... SEVRAL!?!?!? Lie for power? Cheap.

  • you must be very stupid to believe in those make up story. Lie for power? no need to, people can see it. Who gather troops soldiers to kick the French out of country? HCM. who defeat the Khmer Red Rouge? HCM. who beat Chinese invasion in 1979? HCM. who kick USA out? HCM. why did he do it? for the sake of Vietnam & its independance. now you see why people are so devoted to him. only traitors evil minds people oppose him.

  • You never kicked the Americans out. They left because there citizens wanted there sons and fathers to go home. What happened after the Uniteds left? And Ho chi minh wives was never a make up story, stop trying to defend your so called leader and actually know what the hells hes doing. Though I am 13, and I may be wrong. I just want to share what I think and learn more. Jeez, And you can say im stupid. I know I am, but I just wanna learn. Thats how you get smart right?

  • tell your parents to come here talk with me, so I can give them a reality real history lesson, so then they can teach you. Because they been creating these fantasy histories and brainwashing their kids. I feel sorry for you.

  • Who said it was them? Jeez, And its not brainwashing you idiot. Your just saying you want to talk to my parents because you have nothing else to say

  • One thing I just have to say:

HCM drove the Chinese out in 1979? Ahem.... when did he die again?

  • he gathered and developed the army to fight for the freedom and independence of VN, even he died, it's still credited to him. you got it? without him, VN is not a country today. now you understand why Vietnamese people praise him.

  • Sonv2003, don't call me childish cus you're the one, you can't even recongize which is communist, which is country, a goverment couldn't be a simplize of a country, every one living in a free world know that, and us, ( i'm not a vet, i was borned in here you damn fucker) haven't sad anything bad about VN, we just talk about the VN government, lot of ppl have stand up in VN for freedom and whatr happen to them? in jail, why should I go to that hell instead i could make change from US?

  • make what change? you make nothing change. an outsider is always an outsider, remember that. & it's kind of funny when you born & live in US but concern about human rights & freedom for people in VN, where the VN people have their rights & freedoms as much as you do. I think u should be more concern of your own ppls rights & freedoms. so back the f up, & mind your fking bussiness. In fact, we feel sorry for you for what your gov. done to its people.

  • OK, if i won't do it ya'll fucking "insider" will call us Mat^' got^' cus we don't pay a shit on VN, now we do, you call us this, and ya'll have gained free and independent yet? i wonder why would Vn gave land and sea to China, and ya'll won't say a shit when Chinese Navy killed VNmese fisher man ( maybe ya'll have said something but shit, no one listen!)

  • Then pay for them some million VN dong, is that worth a shit in China? is that Vnmese ppl's life just worth some million VN dong?

  • hahaha how could you know a shit when you just sitting in Vn and listen to Communist news shit? like they gonna let you know something happening.

  • ok give me your damn address fucker! If you want to talk with me then come to my house here's the address: 2054 wildcat falls ln, Suwanee, Georgia, 30043 you're just being a mouthful!

  • that is very childish thing to do. who are the people that cry out and hate Vietnam? and also try to talk bad about it all the time? it's vnch, or vichoco. who create all lies toward VN goverment? and protest when VN gov official visit US? it's all you traitors. so it shows you people are the one that being a mouthful of craps, seeking for your vengence, that's all. u hate them so much, why talk shit on here in a far distance safe country, go on to Vietnam.

  • If you working for polotical you haVe to think far enough. not just only VNmese, even Chinese, N.Korean, and citizen of HongKong are against communism. take a damn trip to other freecountry then talk to me, don't just go to a cafe' internet and place comment.

  • This is the freeworld you are talking about. Currently in the USA, a citizen can be arrested at anytime, with no lawyers, & put into a secret prison & even tortured if deemed to be a suspect terrorist. People's homes can be searched without warrant, their telephone is tap-wired. So much for the freedom of speech & human rights, search youtube for "What happens if you ask Bush about the CFR/Fed Reserve?"

  • sonv2003, read the u.s constitution, it says that citizen's right could be ignore in time of military crisis. But the thing, I believe U.S is free world because, as you can see, its mistakes could be taken out to light. What about VN? did you hear that the gov ignore its farmers whose land was basically taken away from them without paying it back? and when they protests, the press weren't allowed to write about it?

  • How can VNCH be traitors? Traitors to who? for who? For the Americans? The Americans came in after the war started. They funded VNCH (and alot honestly) but all those money will become debt which VNCH must repay after war. Its not like America just gave us the money as the French did to shut us up. They simply lent us it in out time of need. If you have anything else to say, say it. I won't respond as this is a waste of time and does not benefit anyone.

  • let me explain why VNCH is the traitor of its Viet people & the country. American wanted the country divided into 2 parts which was unacceptable because Vietnam was a country, North & Sound as a whole. It's like I come into your house & demand the house to be divided into 2. Damn right, you would kick me out, so there Vietnam did it. VNCH were traitors because they helped the US but they supposed to help the North kick them out.

  • So the north declared war, so its the souths fault? We only wanted to protect our freedom and Human rights, so what is peace sonv?

  • how could you know the southern Vn citizen wasn't happy and "need" communist help since all the information come from VC? huh? ya'll fucking VC just like other, liar and betrayer, ya'll killed all your alliances in VietMinh ( VC just a small part in VietMinh)remake film the applause of Saigon ppl when VC come in to city, who the fuck is that stupid want to appear on the road since war time and right at the battle field? stupid liar, got brain?

  • sonv, you're so stupid have you done any research about Vn anyway, the country've been divide since the treaty after Dien Bien Phu, both since agreed use the 17th parallel to divide country into half

  • obviously they didn't agree that's why they have the fight. Vietnam DID NOT let any outsiders, foreigners to decide its faith. Outsiders can sign any piece of shit paper, it dont mean nothing to us. Vietnam was a country, and no body can split it without the approval of its people, and worse, some small group of people in power think they can do it by signing a piece of shit paper. Fools.

  • hahhaahah damn you stupid you thik your education of communist is better than free countries? hahah oh man my mouth anyway stupid you, aight let me tell you, both side did agree on that not an outsider, and VNCH was formed before the American get involve into the war, not just only US, VN war was helped by the UN include France,S.Korea, Cambodia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Philipines, got it?

  • Just only you, the one was borned in VN been brain was that US tried to took over Vn. you don't even know how the free countries government work so stfu! aight if you say communist is better that decomcrat then why would they cuff you only because you try to connect to a web site about freeright on United Nations? Do not say they don't, if you dare, try it! and you'll see what wil happen to you!

  • sonv2003, remember, "history is according to the kings". What i mean is that what you see is not necessarily the truth, it could be rewrote by the ruler for different purposes. It takes time to find out the truth. But i can tell you for sure that the matter of VN war is way more complicated than it look.

  • search youtube for "Murder in daylight", general Nguyen Ngoc Loan shot a captured North Viet man in cold blood. You South Viet think about this, you were also Viets, but you helped foreigners burn down our people's houses, kill civilians including old men & women & children. Girls were raped. Have you lost your mind?

  • You Northerner's killed much more civilians than the South. Its just cause the South was more rich so they could afford more video cameras and film more things. Think about it.

  • this is the most retard excuse ever, how can North kill civilians? we worked with "spy", who were Southern civilians and you say we kill them? and by the way, all the video clips are made by american journalist anyways, not a single picture or video shot by southern vietnamese.

  • Comment removed

  • No, you're to most retarded excuse ever (sonv). You are so blinded by the media you don't understand the sorrows of war. Instead you have so much time going out and criticizing other people's comments. You criticized my comment in the VNtiger vid so I'm criticizing you.

  • The North started the war when they didn't have to and they caused the death of millions. I can write you an essay on it but I won't. why? Because fishermen like you will never understand the sophistication of such analysis. You are a communist.

"How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx." -Ronald Reagan

  • As for the cameraman issue, yes I've seen quite a few pics taken by vietnamese photographers. In fact, watch those vids you like so much. You always see Vietnamese photographers. I have a book called "The Vietnam War: a photographic history" with over 300 photos.

  • you South Viets supposed to help the North kick foreigners out, but not. So, it's reasonable that the North setup re-education camps for the traitors. People were scared, but they didn't realize even North went in, they couldn't simply just kill the whole population of the South. Some chose to flee by boat (not by force, their choice), most stayed and live freely 'till this day.

  • Sonv2003, Most stayed and live freely till this day? You got to be fuucking me. Its not free if you don't have freedom of speech you dumbass

  • i feel sorry for you because you don't know what freedom of speech is. & I don't think you know what freedom is, not alone handle the freedom.

  • sonv, i just move to U.S 3 years ago and before that i learn exactly what you i've been telling people. But i gotta say, what you've learn from VN education is "propagandas". It's hard to know the real truth. And i talk to you as a fellow former student who received education from vn. Let me tell you again, history could be "edited". The sad thing is, i did believe what the book tell me back in vn.

  • sonv2003, i'm not trying to debate the past any more. But i ask you, you really like the way the VN gov run the country now? you really proud that Vn is ranked a few DECADES behind Singapore in its economics power although we Vietnamese never lack intelligent and talent compare to other guys?

  • yes, I like it because the VN gov. is doing its best to better the country. You need to ask why we are behind other country. it's because of the long war with US, US destroyed almost everything in VN. then "ca'm van"? but VN is developing, & I believe it will catch up others in the near future.

  • true, the gov is now actually getting "smarter"(not as dumb as before). But you should know how far behind our economy is. And not to mention, we don't really have all the freedom stated in the constitution unlike japan or korea.

  • one more thing you need to sonv2003, that because after 1975 the northern leaders take over the gov with their little education actually PUSH the current southern economy behind. They better use educated people as leaders, not the one with fake degrees. I definitely say that VN is a poor country now because of the war AND the poor communist leadership.

  • Uhm does anyone know where to see this movie?

  • i like the song; the classical type one. Anyone know what its called?

  • Love this trailer.

  • jeeze. i already got teary from that. :[

i still havent watched it yet so i need to soon.

  • The Vietnam War was between the North and South. The South believed in voting and the North believed in equal rights. The North of Vietnam got support from China, Beijing, and Indonesia. The South got support from the United States. Later then the U.S. decide not to come to the war battle. So the South lost support and lost the war. Some people like my dad went on a boat to flee from Vietnam. Other people may have been captured and taken to a refugee camp.

  • Whats new in Vietnam with the commies? Well Christians are getting persecuted for praticising their religion, thrown in jail for their beliefs and tortured by the plain clothed police. Is there human rights abuse in Vietnam? Just ask the Christians...
