Hun. . i've been riding a long time, I've trained and shown nationally. . do I take lessons? YES!!! Of course I do! No one can ever stop learning when it comes to horses! I have a ton to learn and I always will! All the riders in the Olympics have trainers too! I really wasn't being mean either. You have the pessoa on way to tight! You have the pessoa on WAY too tight

he is way behind the verticle making him unable to balance. The other problem with the system is it constantly catches the face and is un forgiving.

riding- You have a chair seat- bring your leg back. Your horse is not supple, when you ride you just bend his neck around, not his body. he is slightly inverted as well. You look like you love your horse, u shouldn't be using the system on your own. I think you would benefit from lessons a lot!

Actually, I'm 22, and have been riding long enough to understand that just about ANYONE will benefit from riding lessons, "fantastic" rider or not. Your friend DOES have a chair seat - like it or not, the photos do not lie. Its not a terrible thing, but lessons WOULD help. As admirable as it is that you stand up for your friend, perhaps try being a little more open to some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Its what life is all about, learn to live with it.

but what exactly is the 'pessoa' for? Here (canada) and the states it's a brand of saddle

the 'pessoa' is a brand of saddles and rugs in the UK the actual 'pessoa training system' which im using on my horse(s) system which teaches the horse to balance evenly. The elesticated pad that goes round the back legs helps the horse to bring back legs under the body and to supple any back tension & keep a nice flowing pace.the main idea of the pessoa is to bring the horse(on the bit) without forcing the horse in any way and this has worked on my horses so well they look like dressage horses.
