Schools aren't allowed to punish or restrict students from praying or expressing their beliefs, as long as they're not disrupting school activities (which is forbidden for secular purposes as well). Actually, I did. Cover to cover. This was a few years ago, I was younger and had an open mind to religion. Basically, I was giving it a try.

i'm not a neuroscienctist, but even I can tell that your haven't done your research. The whole idea that the mind isn't a product of the brain is laughible,

Why the hell would I say that? The mind obviously developes before then.

How would an atheist answer this question: Where do our minds come from? Sexual intercourse can only produce a body and the mind is not physically connected to any body part. The body (brain included) is only a shell. Your mind is your personality, thoughts, feelings, interests. If you would say our minds develop as we physically develop from birth, how are babies fully able to decide whose arms they cry in and whose arms they are quiet in? -what toy they play with and what toy they leave alone?

Maybe he doesn't have a credible source. If he does, you don't deserve an answer for the nasty tone and language you just used for no good reason.

"The brain produces the mind" is an easy thing to say and believe. But can you give a credible source to prove it does? No, because it's as hard to prove as the "big bang" theory. On the other hand, proving that the brain does produce the mind would be just as hard.

It wouldn't hard to prove that you're a jackass though. You just did it. Congrats.

A human baby is quiet in his/her mothers arms because that child had developed and had been a part of its mother through development. Going beyond that, the child recognizes body language, tone of voice, and their mothers' face. This is synonymous with pretty much every other mammal on the planet.

So yes, a personality is developed and affected by one's environment, coupled with the individual traits that are passed down by your parents.

I used to worked with Madalyn. Nice to hear her voice again; it was so tragic what happened to her, Jon and Robin. She really was a brave woman, and pioneered the modern atheist movement. Thanks so much for posting this, moistened my eyes a bit.
