Thanks for the great video. Is the strum motion on the chord (excluding the bass notes) slide, U,D,rake U, D (then go to bass note on next chord)? Also, when you slide into the B (I chord), your middle finger looks like its up at C, and your forefinger at E. is that correct? Many thanks.
wow i was looking for info on amps and ran into your earlier video "Tube Amps 2: Structure" watch?v=7U648loKYZ8&feature=relmfu and realized that the intro to that song is pretty much the same idea from this one.
This video has taken Free Lesson Friday to the next level. You truly have a skill that not many can imitate. I love how you can take apart a concept, show all of the parts, and put it back together. You have definitely mastered the art of teaching. How about a series of lessons just like this? 12 Bars 12 Rhythms 12 Solos I have my credit card ready!!
@Life4Guitar Started doing it because SRV did it, but then got used to how smoothly the pick glides over the strings without getting hung up, and now can't go back.
i'll be honest. this camera angle makes me nauseous. Still love your videos though. Great info. And i'm constantly applying you're raking techniques and palm muting into my playing and practice to get better and to develop my sound.
its a 7sharp9 in the begining, hendrix's thang

@ghunt64 Did a simple 12-bar rhythm series back in November, quite a bit simpler than this though. They're all listed at StevieSnacks (dot) com.

The chord at 2:06 is just a dominant 7#9 (aka. Hendrix chord)

May I ask why you hold the pick upside down?
Life4Guitar 10 months ago
@Life4Guitar stevie did because it's more pick on the string and it gives a fuller tone. sorta like a thumb but easier. he uses the corner of it
megajames3000 10 months ago
@megajames3000 Allright, thanks!

@blakmagik4 i think it's cause it's moving
blakmagik4 10 months ago
@blakmagik4 Yeah, Im not sure about it either.
lstierney 10 months ago
@blakmagik4 Just pretend I'm lying on my back holding the guitar in the air. That should be better than imagining that you're floating upside down.
gr8bluesgtr 10 months ago
@gr8bluesgtr I'm not thinking about no man on his back. lol.

Any guitars or amps on your channel sound so open, transparent and crisp..
Could you post audio recording methods on this clip?
- used gears( mics, mic pre, audio interface, DAW etc..),
- EQ and reverb settings etc..(room, hall or plate.. and the percentage..),if you EQed or added reverb on mixing.
Thanks!
