Unfortunately, i have to agree on you my friend. I work in the Concertgebouw, asked my collegues about your stories and its true there is an incredible (analogue) database in Hilversum (close to Amsterdam) filled with miles and miles of film.. These tapes will only be digitalized when a certain party asks about a certain musician, and is willing to broadcast it. One show is approximatly 40kg of film, thats why the elder films are being destroyed every now and then..
@petersuper13 Zou kunnen, ik geloof van niet eerlijk gezegd.. Bijna alle opnames zijn analoog en daarom kwetsbaar, ik weet niet of toegang mogelijk is... hoe zou je er bij kunnen komen ???
@boasdubbelman: It has so such a full amount of viewers because society has been bombarded by bubble head, un-talented, wanna be musicians like Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and others alike. Just a sad sad case.
@wolffrankenstein: It has so few amount of viewers because society has been bombarded with untalented, bubble head, wanna be musicians like Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and others alike. Just a sad sad case.
@Vandal18 Thanks. I didn't know that version before either! I've seen and heard a lot of Peterson, but it seems there'e so much more so see and hear! :-)
WHOA! I have NEVER hear Mr. Peterson talk. Thank you for this vid. This is the first time I've heard him speak - he's every bit gentlemanly as Ray. :-)
@chingading Certainly, though in most cases, the centered-instrument is the band leader's. Or, if it's a big band, there will be no core player at all. Which is why I specified "piano-centered" as being my favorite.
@LightSpectra Exactly. So it's not necessarily the songs that are your favorite. It's the fact that the performances or band leaders are piano centered. Because any song can be piano centered. So perhaps your favorite musicians are pianists and maybe your favorite instrument is the piano.
@TheForeverWorld actually thats a common jazz technique . Or music technique. IT makes it easy if you can sing your part and hear the song in your head as opposed to just playing it.Hes definitly having fun doing it though. If you watch some of his other videos like the Quartet youll notice hes not the only one mumbling and moving his lips.
Thank you for uploading this. This is the very trio I saw play live in Iowa City, IA in the sixties. They played this song. Amazingly beautiful music.
Geweldig nummer - super - hartelijk dank voor deze posting Boas !! . Ik zie Dave Brubeck ook genoemd als een van jouw favorieten. Even een tip van mij - zie YT onder Honoring Dave Brubeck - posted by faridb2000. You will love it also...
You all mentionned Oscar but what about Ray Brown?? ! He was the MAN in that trio ! Without Ray, Oscar and the trio would have never reached that untouchable level that it got !

I love classical music, piano-centered jazz songs, bass solos and Oscar Peterson. Therefore this video is awesome for that many reasons.

@LightSpectra Just piano-centered jazz songs? Within common thread of jazz mechanics you make any song a piano-centered song.
