  • Unfortunately, i have to agree on you my friend. I work in the Concertgebouw, asked my collegues about your stories and its true there is an incredible (analogue) database in Hilversum (close to Amsterdam) filled with miles and miles of film.. These tapes will only be digitalized when a certain party asks about a certain musician, and is willing to broadcast it. One show is approximatly 40kg of film, thats why the elder films are being destroyed every now and then..

  • The best bass player ever !!!

  • Oscar's hands are perfect. Effortless mastery on display here.

  • This is one of the most beautyful songs EVER!!!

  • How does this only have 94000 views?

  • @wolffrankenstein I uploaded it and I really don't know. I can watch it on a daily basis without ever getting bored.

  • @boasdubbelman: It has so such a full amount of viewers because society has been bombarded by bubble head, un-talented, wanna be musicians like Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and others alike. Just a sad sad case.

  • @wolffrankenstein: It has so few amount of viewers because society has been bombarded with untalented, bubble head, wanna be musicians like Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and others alike. Just a sad sad case.

  • Oh! My ...... !!!!!!!!!

  • Supagroup, mastapiece.

  • THAT was BEAUTIFUL! *sniff* :-]

  • WHOA! I have NEVER hear Mr. Peterson talk. Thank you for this vid. This is the first time I've heard him speak - he's every bit gentlemanly as Ray. :-)

  • I love classical music, piano-centered jazz songs, bass solos and Oscar Peterson. Therefore this video is awesome for that many reasons.

  • @LightSpectra Just piano-centered jazz songs? Within common thread of jazz mechanics you make any song a piano-centered song.

  • @chingading Certainly, though in most cases, the centered-instrument is the band leader's. Or, if it's a big band, there will be no core player at all. Which is why I specified "piano-centered" as being my favorite.

  • @LightSpectra Exactly. So it's not necessarily the songs that are your favorite. It's the fact that the performances or band leaders are piano centered. Because any song can be piano centered. So perhaps your favorite musicians are pianists and maybe your favorite instrument is the piano.

  • i love the faces they make

  • where can i find the score of this?

    Klasse!

  • @TheForeverWorld actually thats a common jazz technique . Or music technique. IT makes it easy if you can sing your part and hear the song in your head as opposed to just playing it.Hes definitly having fun doing it though. If you watch some of his other videos like the Quartet youll notice hes not the only one mumbling and moving his lips.

  • What skill. Truly astounding! Either he found his hands at the crossroads or with...

  • THIS IS MUSIC!

  • WOW! WOW!!! MY GOD WOW!!!

  • we miss you oscar! heaven its urs:) best of all times

  • thanks for having posted this!!! once upon a time I saw the light like John Belushi in the Blues Brothers by listening to this tune!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this wonderful composition played with such grace and swing by THE all time greatest piano-bass-drums trio!

  • Thank you for uploading this. This is the very trio I saw play live in Iowa City, IA in the sixties. They played this song. Amazingly beautiful music.

You will love it also... Groet uit Sydney

    Boas

  • please do. this one makes me very very happy.

can you get hold of his version of "summertime"?

    ta

    cheers

  • This is amazing. How can you not be so happy listening to this? Wow. This trio is a serious gift to my ears.

  • Ray plays a lot of the sololicks he plays on the studioversion of the tune, in different order...

  • Fantastic track thanks for posting it!

  • Exxactly. We can say the same fpr Ray and Ed. They could and they played with any pianist or iostrumentalist.

  • You all mentionned Oscar but what about Ray Brown?? ! He was the MAN in that trio ! Without Ray, Oscar and the trio would have never reached that untouchable level that it got !

  • One of the best jazz pianist in the world can play with any bassist and drummer !

  • J'adooooore ce morceau.
