Hey Marty, been watching you and some other youtube guitar teachers and I'm just wondering, how long did it take you to start transcribing songs by ear? I want to ween off the tabs and start using my ears more to further my guitar ability. Also what are some tips you have to help transcribe also?

@cantsnapurpicture Well, I'm not Marty, but I think I can help. I would start off by learning relative intervals. After some training, you should be able to tell the relative intervals of any notes. For example, I know that the first two notes of the "In The End" riff make a perfect fifth. Justin Sandercoe has really good ear training lessons, which help. Then, I would learn the qualities of chords. Quality just means whether they are major or minor. Learning these by ear should start you off.
