Hi, in fact the Okko Diablo can produce any amount of crunch/distortion you need for your guitar. I use always the low gain switch at the back, Volume at half, and gain at 1/4. The other knobs (body and feed both at half/12hr)
Ok...But you do not play the Diablo with your LP, no ? I have a strat fat 50's, a Duesenberg starplayer ( P90 and humbucker) and an ES 335 P90, the guitar i play more often, will the diablo able to be smooth and very low gain setting with P90 pickup ? That' s what i look for a great smooth tone with P90, for the high gain setting i know it can do it !!!!
I look for an overdrive pedal able to play everything from BB King (smooth low gain setting..) to Pink Floyd solos ( and all classic rocks, ZZ TOP etc..)..Is the diablo able to play very low gain blues and hi gain rocks too ?? best regards, great sounds, gaëtan
hi Geatan, the Okko Diablo is definitely for you a good choice. It has a lot of useful controls and you can get any of the sounds you mention with it.
Excellent work! You really have mastered PG's sound, something I've been trying to do for 35 years without any great success. This is a really nice instrumental very tastefully done with lots of feel. By the way I like the mic placement technique, I think I'll throw my mic stands away!
KeesDusink, I have listened, a number of times, to your posts - they are all awesome!!! I really really like your touch, feel and tone - you can do what I have been trying for a long time to achieve. Keep it up man...long live the blues.
KeesDusink, thanks for your reply. By the way what (if I may ask) are your settings on the reverb and delay? Will surely be useful for me as a starting point. Have ordered the okko - should be here soon. Also, if you recall what did you have your bassman set to? Thanks alot and keep up the amazing playing!
hi keesdusink, I really like your sound. I play through a bassman and am trying to get that sound. I am looking at getting a okko and a t-rex replica and reverb. do you think the tc are better than the t-rex?
Hi, of course you will hear the difference between 1x11" and 4x11" speakers. Nevertheless, by tweaking the tone settings you will get that sound on your Bassman (I did this already). I personally like the TC more than the T-Rex (I already sold). For delay I use already many years the Dan-Echo from Dan-Electro. The T-Rex Reverb does add something to the sound which TC does not. And the same is true for T-rex delay vs Dan Echo.
Thanks alot so you say the Diablo can be smooth and very low gain too, because i hate hot gain settings, so if i buy a diablo to put always the gain to minimum, is it ridiculous, do i have to look after another model ? From clean sound, toGilmour sound, BBKing, etc.....the best for bluesy sounds...which one do you think ?
The Diablo has a low gain switch at the back, I use this setting. Furthermore I mostly set the gain to 1/4.or 1/3,
I have used many other overdrives, but this one keeps the character of your guitar as it is. In addition, the diversity of tones you can create makes this one for me better than any other. Of course its very personal. You can watch my other vids to hear some other sounds of the Diablo..
What is that back track......Isn't the Diablo to strong for smooth blues ? Why not the Twin sonic , for that sound ? ..'cause i want to buyan Okko effect but cannot try....thanks , good good sound anyway.....gaëtan
hi Gaëtan, the Diablo can set to any amount of overdrive you need. from almost clean, towards heavy overdrive and has excellent features for tone control. The Twin Sonic basically gives a volume boost, which also produces nice sounds, but the Diablo is more convenient for me and delivers the sound I like, at any level of volume. The backingtrack can easily be found on the Internet if you search for "need your love so bad backing track". regards Kees
Mooi Kees .......wel grappig jij speelt het nummer via YouTube en de zang komt hier vanuit de huiskamer erbij..............handig hoor een zangeres in huis hahaha

@BELOROYAN

Great tone... Nice work sir.
Your list of effects - that's reverse order right? So it's Tele - Diabolo - TRex - TC Nova - Fender Pro Jnr?
Much appreciated...

Yes, you're right about the order of connecting these. Thanks for the compliment

Don't rember that exactly, but in general I lower the bass almost to zero and mid and treble about position 5. The reverb & delay about 1/4 or less.
the okko: body and feed half open. Drive 1/4, gain 1/2 or less. Tone 1/2.
