  • You can always trust the Irish Punditry Trio (Johnny Giles, Eamon Dunphy and Liam Grady) to speak their mind. Pundits are SUPPOSED to speak their mind, not speak in endless cliches like "Great game, fighting hard, its 50/50, relegation dogfight, bla bla" Yes, I'm looking at you, Jamie Redknapp. This is the reason RTE are so epic.

  • scholes has just scored v bolton..still a great player

  • 2012 and Ronaldo still cannot perform in the big games

  • Its great to see Ronaldo improve on issues like this. He used to be such a diving wanker, but hes truley is one the worlds best players now

  • paul scholes is a great player, cant agree anymore with that.

  • Go on the lad, get it telt boy

  • dunphys a wanker. Giles is good but he can be so negative its unreal at times. Brady is good I think. Souness is the best around by far. Should let Kenny Cunningham and Dennis Irwin do the punditry. Dunphy hasnt done fuck all except for writing Roy Keane a book......

  • did he say tiger woods as a good role model....hahahhahaha shows hes talking shit

  • @Oliver345wb This was a few years ago you dopey cunt

  • @Oliver345wb this was before he got caught with all them affairs

  • @Oliver345wb Yeah... this was recorded in 2008...

  • dunphys a nob who has no clue so is rte sport

  • When he said Scholes is a great player I was immediately on his side.

  • WHAT FUCKING MATCH WERE THEY TALKING ABOUT?

  • it was season 2006/07 when ronaldo was still very young, but also at that time they were talking bullshit, ronaldo is one of the bet and most complete players in history, hes a winger and was europes best scorer twice...i dont think you need to mention his talent and his awards..

  • @Martinez1887 no the end of the 07/08 season

  • Is this the 2007/2008 season?

  • @brightlights456X yea it was,,,,,,,

  • @turkyish

    Thanks doll face.

  • stop fucking arguing.....

  • *exaggerates

  • messi does dive? just not as much? he still exagertates tackles to get players booked...

  • @ldb453 why you jelly?

  • messi doesnt dive

  • .This guy is clearly jealous...acting as if Ronaldo is the only person in football who does this..Barcelona the best team in the world..do it more than anyone else..and everyone still loves them..messi does it. These guys paid no attention to Ronaldo's talent.

  • Comment removed

  • thumbs up if you want to see bill john and eamon on sky sports for the 2011/12 season :DD

  • These guys are great!Simple bread and butter analysis,no bullshit.Their not afraid to criticise anyone, even the Ireland team.

  • ronaldo should be in the olympics swimming team what a fucking diver.

if i was wayne rooney i would of punched hes fucking melon head in for getting him sent off in the 2006 world cup hes a fucking joke look at the dive against middlesbrough a few years back its the best ever

  • Ronaldo himself is a disgrace for the football.

  • Eamon Dunphy is class! Wake up England! Speak your mind!

  • Irish Plonk

  • i cant believe someone could talk like this

  • Messi doing what is best for his team. WTF?! Freekick from 35yds against Casillas when trailing in a cupfinal. Spot on! lålz!

  • Ronaldo scored 42 goals, Rooney 16 or something and Scholes 3 or something, and he says it is an insult to compare him with them, WOOOT?!!!

  • ai ai ai, thoose studio rats are fucked up.

  • i love it!!!! onlt the irish nothing better!!

  • This is a joke of proggrame, Some stupid irish people that know fuck all about Football. go back to the Aviva Premiership.

  • @patocosta1234 Because you are the fountain of all knowledge of football, right?

Also what's so bad about the Aviva Premiership? Respecting the game you play is a bad thing yah? I'm also guessing you're going to reply back with a torrent of non-sensical abuse but I wouldn't bother as I won't waste my time replying, toodles x

  • @jaryd12345: hey i take back what i said about irish people and aviva premiership, my bad, but i must add i was flabbergasted when he decided to criticize ronaldo in this way, to that extent. I'm not being racist or anything but these are in no position criticizing players in the english league. Period

  • @patocosta1234 Aviva premiership?? God u aint the smartest now r u?

  • @ryonkiage : these shit pundits are in position to be criticizing one of the worlds best players. period

  • @patocosta1234 What are you saying? They can't talk about the English league because they're Irish?? That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. Unlike those muppets on the BBC and Sky they actually have opinions and, wow, arnt afraid to speak them!! Best pundits around. They're 100% right about that moaning diving bitch who never performs in big games. Ronaldo is a disgrace to the game

  • @tony10396861: sky and bbc are the best sports broadcasters in europe, so suck on that. what's it to him if ronaldo dives, like he's the only one, tell them to tune in when madrid play barca that's a disgrace. ronaldo has got 63 goals in 63 La liga appearance. we don't need this type of opinion, even the host said to him, (that's a bit of a strong opinion) wank irish football, can't even qualify for World cup or Euro's. period

  • @patocosta1234 Wow great argument retard!! Sky and bbc pundits are pathetic. People like you have been blinded by their outrageous hyping of that spoofer. Where Ronaldo has been second to none is scoring goals. He contributes just about NOTHING else, and his behaviour on the pitch is worthy of a spoilt 10 year old the way he bitches and moans at the ref and his own players. That's all Dunphy is saying, and he's right. Open your eyes and don't be taking cheap shots at the Irish, it's pathetic.

  • @tony10396861 : his goal ratio is second to none, why u hating on him? why is it only these guys that criticize players talk about on tv, these pundits are disgrace for saying these things. You never hear any other Sports Broadcasters Say this. the guy who was even sat next to him was embarrassed by what he said. and i Quote, (the guy said, I don't think john's a million mile away from me? i think you neeed to show him a clip of busquets in the semi-final last year and semi-final this year.

  • @patocosta1234 Look we'll just have to agree to disagree about him then.... I know that you never hear other broadcasters say things like this, that's kinda the point... I think you misunderstood that comment; It's Eamonn and John who are having a go at Ronaldo, and Liam who defends him a bit

  • @tony10396861: so what happend to these guys? did they get fired or what cuz i've heard about the since? and ironically the disgrace of Ronaldo when on to win UEFA Champions League Top-scorer: European Golden Shoe: , UEFA Club Forward of the Year: UEFA Club Footballer of the Year: FIFPro World Player of the Year: FIFA Club World Cup Silver Ball:

Ballon d'Or: 2008, FIFA World Player of the Year: , World Soccer Player of the Year:

  • @patocosta1234 Haha no they're still going strong. No-one is disputing that he has talent, it's his attitude they're questioning

  • @tony10396861 bloody hell, i would love to see these guys on Sky Sports. ronaldo doe's dive and complain, but these days not so much, if your that good most people don't even look into that side of your game, (Diving, and complaining)

  • The guy is absolutely right. We were nearly a victim of playacting from Chicarito last night. Much as I like both players and think they are skillful, talented players, cheating is wrong.

  • @newcastlemad1984 hernandez incident should of been a penalty lad he made the most of it but it was a foul

  • wankers

  • Great player in the studio, LIAM BRADY!

  • @Zoopk1ng no JOHN GILES

  • ther're adicted to barca

  • Ironic though ronaldo more often than not could never produce against top teams. It says it all really.

  • sorry did he say tiger woods l0l.

  • Who the hell are these people to say that Ronaldo's overall play is not up to scratch. This was the year he scored 42 and got voted the best player in the world. Stfu you amateur pundits.

  • @tryder1991 ,these men are legends, they speak the truth,,,

  • @tryder1991 Ronaldo is a sham of a player. Diving, whinging complaining. Messi is a pro. Have you ever actually played football?? Do you know what it takes to be a good professional?? I dont think you do You could learn something from this

  • @Noeladishi Hhahahahaa wow you are really retarded. The guy has just equalled the best ever scoring season in la liga (more than messi, ahem). So, he whinges and might dive, but 8/10 of the best players in the world dive an whinge no, thats just how football is, it doesn't make him a 'sham of a player'. He is one of, if not THE best player in the world. Now stop replying to everyones comments and get on with your shit life.

  • haha bro,im spanish...you know world cup winners....not part of a breed of lepraucauns who cant even play football.your next mission should be to go and tell tiger woods how he should play gold....stick to gaelic football son.

  • @davidljgreendog Para un español, hablas muy bien el ingles tío!

  • @davidljgreendog Haha you're some retard if you think anyone believes that

  • stupid irish people lol....

  • @davidljgreendog cheeky brit cunt go fuk yrself..rubbish race...cant even play cricket lol

  • stupid irish people lol....

  • Speaks the truth he is a prick, nothing like Messi

  • Someone didn't get his T-shirt signed...

  • its 3 years ago, dunphy changed his opinion, ronaldo and messi are the best players on the planet, nobody is even close to them accept for xavi and iniesta, but ronaldo and messi are magic

  • diving, cheating..petulance..so basically 90% of pro footballers are a disgrace..except they are just not as good as ronaldo...people will never appreciate the talents of cristiano ronaldo...

  • @tenseman08 Exactly. These twats ignore objectivity, and get personal. They have a prolonged debate about a player which alienates a portion of the viewing public. You can express your beliefs but you need a certain amount of diplomacy. These guys haven't achieved a fraction of what Cristiano has achieved at 25. They undermine his achievements because of character traits present in a great deal of world class players. The presenter is trying to mediate in a sensible fashion, but they're fools.

  • @frenchkids giles was one of the best players of his generation, and won a lot of medals, trophies and international caps.

which is not the point in any case - you don't need to be a great footballer in order to comment on football.

  • @mikjmurf1973 It's the nature of the man's comments that is the problem. He sounds like a cab driver or some pissed up idiot in a pub talking nonsense. This debate lacked the professionalism required in order to distinguish it from a playground rant. Ronaldo is a much-maligned player, constantly attacked for his conduct. I don't expect to tune in and watch any player being attacked in such a way. There are players that I can't stand, but I'd be disappointed if a pundit issued a prolonged attack.

  • @frenchkids It's not nonsense, they're absolutely right. Ronaldo is a disgrace to the game the way he behaves himself on the pitch. I would have thought that much would be obvious to someone who follows the game; apparently not. They are far more real, more knowledgeable and intelligent, and are given much more scope to express their true opinions than those boring idiots on BBC or Sky who say nothing over and over again. Is that what you call professionalism??

  • @tony10396861 Just because they're saying things that differ from the BBC or Sky, does not mean they're right! Whether Ronaldo is a 'disgrace' or not, isn't my problem. A lot of people are happy to hear this sort of thing because it mirrors their opinion of him. My issue is with the conduct of these pundits. I feel that the discussion was conducted in an amateurish and over-zealous fashion. It made me wince, actually. There is a certain way of saying things; you must remain professional.

  • @frenchkids The point is that the BBC etc never say anything that could be remotely controversial. What's your problem with their conduct? Maybe it seems unusual to see pundits actually speaking their mind. I dont think thats unprofessional. Ok, Dunphy in particular can come on a bit strong at times, but he has strong opinions and an unquestionable love of the game. Personally, I think he's brilliant, always insightful and entertaining. I often look forward to their analysis more than the match

  • Damn I'd have these pundits instead of the sky and bbc robots any day of the week

  • Fair play Sambo. You beat me to it! That one sentence renders this entire argument invalid!

  • ''Someone like Tiger Woods sets the standard's with his behaviour'' LOL

  • @87sambo87 Was thinking the same myself Eamonn is kicking himself now!!

  • u r right..........he is grt player but disgrace as a whole to the game

  • who cares whether you like him or not, or if you think hes a disgrace to the game, so what? he trains hard, plays every game to win, puts in 110% every game and his score rate is unbelievable. thats what matters. i couldnt care less what these old men have to say.

  • @Makkerz YOU ARE A MORON AND YOUR OPINIONS OF FOOTBALL MEAN NOTHING TO ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN. GOD I FEEL SO SORRY FOR YOU.

  • He's a World and European player of the year. He's a proven goal scorer who won everything worth winning in Europe and in England. These guys are dicks.

  • @frenchkids Theyre fucking right you idiot. He's a great player but a complete and utter cheat. it's embarrassing

  • Lol @ butthurt Utd fans.

  • there are countless amounts of players who go down easily ie drogba! but someone who has dominated the premiership, and then gone on to do it in la liga is for me one of the best players in the world, these old fools are clouded football has moved on and gamesmanship is just as much a part of it as it was years ago but instead of leg breaking players use the ref as an assets today, you can't argue with the goals and overrall entertainment ronaldo brings, messi come to prem then we shall see!

  • typical older generation in my day....! i think these irish gentlemen have had a few too many whisky's!

  • They can say all this because no one watches it.

  • @worldwidedownload no one watches it only the majority of ireland a good 3 million-ish players

  • a truely disgusting man and player!

  • Tiger woods, jesus christ. yeah, he really "sets the standards".. what a joke. ronaldo is admittedly flawed, but i seriously doubt he'd do anything as fucked up Tiger has done.

  • They are completely right. I just wish he would watch this and become a respected sportsman!

  • goal scoring fantastic his general game hasn't been upto standard at all????? lolz. Any manager on universe would love to have such a player who can be goalscoring machine even when not upto standard at all lolz.

  • couldnt summarized it better!

  • Tiger Woods? haha Sorry?!

  • @PugKennedy32

    3 years ago you numpty

  • I would love to see what he though Ronaldo pushing Guardiola hehe:L

  • I wouldn't call Johnnie Giles football's greatest gentleman. During his stay at Leeds United they were arguably the dirtiest club in Europe!

  • @VAXMANT123 Ronaldo is technically a winger not even a striker, therefore to score that many goals you have to be a hero of the game! And yeah no shit sherlock, Ronaldo's stats have changed since i last posted, thanks for updating me on 2 appearances and 2 goals haha :L Anyway why should i care about their opinions no matter how good they are (which they aren't, but still...)? Tbh Anyone who says Ronaldo isn't as good clearly has no understanding of the beautiful game therefore be quiet...

  • These pundits are seriously jealous. Cristiano Ronaldo is the football worlds top talent and there is nothing that they can do to get anywhere near his level.

Oh and all of the mare anti United so it doesn't surprise me they said this!

  • @thatguystefan messi is way better then ronaldo!

  • @thatguystefan Firstly, Giles and Dunphy both played for Man United (Dunphy didn't last and was sold to Millwall) while Arsene Wenger feels Brady is good enough to be one of the top dogs at the Arsenal Acadamy, so these guys 1. Know their stuff 2. Have no vested interests and thus can call it right down the middle and 3. If you want to see Graeme Souness, who has more medals than these three combined, talk on Irish TV by comparison to his SKY work, there is a complete difference. 'Nuf said!!!!

  • @jasonofaolain 1) Giles is a wanker and lasted at United only 6 years. Dunphy only player for our youth team so he doesn't count. 2) Graeme Souness is a fucking scouser you idiot so of course he is going to go against anything that supports United.

The fact is, Cristiano Ronaldo has won world and european player of the year, the world club cup, a champions league, 3 premier league titles, an fa cup 2 carling cups and community shields.

So these twats shouldn't even comment on Ronaldo!

  • @thatguystefan Graeme Souness is Scottish, not Scouse and whether he played for Liverpool or not is irrelevant, The team that he played for won more than Ronaldo did. Couple of things... 1. Man United, not Ronaldo, won those trophies and while Ronaldo contributed heavily to that success, he, on his own, did not win those trophies and relied heavily on the brilliance and patience of team mates to compensate for his refusal to track back and Ferguson's refusal to make him.

  • @thatguystefan 2. All three were commenting on his behaviour and petulance more so than his undoubted ability. He is a role model and, frankly, it is because of the likes of Ronaldo that, as a coach of youngsters myself, it is very difficult to get them to track back. 3. Whether Giles masturbates in his free time is irrelevant. He is a good judge of a player still and with 2 league medals and a European Cup final under his belt, his opinion carries more weight than Jamie Redknapp, for example.

  • @thatguystefan Finally, kids are told that the likes of Kaka, Messi, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho are what, as footballers, should be aspired to. It's sad because none of these players are fit to tie the boot-laces of the likes of Pele, Maradona, Best, Charlton, Maldini, Brady, Costacurta or even a John Charles or a Platini.

Grow up. Get some football history into you before you start spouting rubbish.

  • @jasonofaolain Haha you're an idiot. Stop living in the past, the standard of football has seriously increased today. For example when Pele played, defences were poor and there wasn't an offside rule.

I know about the greats of the past but you have to look at the present and the future as well and right now Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are unbelievable players and will go down in football history. You cannot argue against that.

  • @thatguystefan Ok. 1. Resorting to name calling is a sign of your inability to debate properly but I'm bored so why not? 2. When one compares eras, you note the offside. Pele did not sit in the box waiting for the ball and most teams had sweepers to compensate, so your argument holds no water. 3. When you look at the footballs and boots and pitches that the older players had to work with and compare it to the modern day, current players could not, and would not, cope.

  • @thatguystefan 4. They said the same about Ronaldinho, Kaka. and they'll say the same about the next player on the cover of Fifa 2020. But who was Messi? The next Maradona. Ronaldo? Luis Figo. That's just a fact. To dismiss the past is ridiculous. 5. The standard has not raised so much. The major difference is the SPEED of play. That does not necessarily denote quality. The improvement in pitches aides this. 6. Ronaldo is not as good as Messi and, with the attitude, he never will.

  • @thatguystefan shut up you british cunt,go listen to your shitty english pundits, all they do is lick the balls of each other..ronaldo is fucking useless, theyres only one ronaldo, brazilian ronaldo and messi is way b etter than ronaldo..clown..

  • @thatguystefan please dont lick his ass

  • @thatguystefan Your a fucking tool. Johnny Giles is one of the greatest players to have played in england. He was probably the greatest playmaker Leeds United ever had. Do some research you thick cunt.

  • `3 fools.... they havnt a fucking clue

  • @semen690 im afraid u are the fool who hasnt a clue what u are taling about.,read the post at the top.At least they are honest unlike their english counterparts who suck each other off. MUPPET

  • @ioc1984 taling? sorry for disrespecting your boyfriends.... if i had of known id offend their biggest gay fan i would not of gave my opinion on them.... i am truely sorry for sharing my views please dont let my comment affect you when you are touching yourself over dunphy...

  • @semen690 recession

  • @semen690 lol, good reply ill try not to but he turns me on so much its hard not to.:) hes so sexy that at least you have to agree to that.cant type anymore, need to concentrate on touching myself now.peace

  • who gives a shit if ronaldo "beats" these guys as a player, the way he has acted when he has played has proved the type of man he is; a cheat, a coward in some ways, and easily one of the most selfish players i have ever seen. i support United, and i know how good he is, but there are more important things than being good at football, such as being honest. ronaldo isnt, simple as that.

  • @sobbyhasselhoff yes actually i have seen them play, and i still stand up for what i said. Cristiano Ronaldo has a club career total of 372 appearances and 167 goals. Johnny Giles has a club career total of 571 appearances and 100 goals. Liam Brady has a club career total of 532 appearances and 78 goals. <--- Ronaldo beats both of them by a mile! Neither of them have scored nearly as many and have had so many more appearances, am i making myself clear?

  • @microsoftcool no ur not because ronaldo is a forward giles & brady were midfielders, ronaldo's record is actually 169 goals in 374 games as well as 25 goals in 78 internationals, and if u got ur information from wikipedia which i expect u did, yes giles and brady both had them records in league football, u can't find the figures for any cup or european games they played aswell as international games, am i making myself clear

  • lmfao these are a bunch of faggots

  • Crisitano Ronaldo is a far more superior football player than all of those old men combined - even at their prime!

  • @microsoftcool ya never see Liam Brady or Johnny Giles play no?if you say you did and you still made that statement your incompetent.

  • @microsoftcool Are you that fucking stupid?

  • @microsoftcool Johnny Giles, Liam Brady for Arsenal?? God mate I bet you have never kicked a ball in your life, or that you never went to school and got an education.

  • Ronaldo has earned the right to act how he wants hes the best in the world by far "guy2008" your a fuckin idiot haha seriously hes wayyy better then lampard gerrard kaka beckham and ronaldinho messi is close but hes not better then Ronaldo either

  • @9RonaldoTurner21 Nobody can act how they want no matter how talented they are. The annoying thing about Ronaldo is he doesnt need to dive or throw hissy fits because hes good enough to be able to play well without cheating. Ronaldo is not a good role model for kids and Messi is, thats why Messi is not only a better footballer than Ronaldo but hes a better professional.

  • C. Ronaldo is nowhere near Lampard, Gerrard, Ronaldinho, messi, Kaka or Beckham.

  • Agree that he acts like a bitch, but he can he is cut above the rest. Fact! Ronaldo is better than all of these ex old boys in their prime. Fact! And who the fuck is this twat saying his general game hasn't been up to standard what standard are you on about you jealous old foogie??? HAHA! Check the facts actim index you idiot.

  • they have made diving part of football...so stfu.

  • Aye exactly, see the media who promote the premiership obviously need certain players, that are good to help advertise it. top players and top teams very rarely do get critisised. They want to suggest that there are no other players like the players that play in the premiership. Ronaldo is a dive, he always was, and that no matter what way you think about it, is a negative example to kids.

  • Ronaldo will never be classed as a great player like Giggs, Scholes, Keane or Cantona. He is a cheater and a liar.

  • @AEF091 KEANE!!! he ended someones career on purpose, suppose thats way better than diving bloooody hell.

  • @samwisegoodge He ended someones career only because that same person almost ended his. Besides, unlike ronaldo, at least he did not betray his club in a public debacle. And unlike ronaldo, keane did not cheat as much as ronaldo.

  • @AEF091 No he didn't, why make that up? Keane tackled him at first which injued himself, the reason Keane ended his career was beacuse Haaland accused keane of feining injury. some Manchester United fans complained to the police that they had witnessesd assualt. But yeah apart from that Keano's a legend hey???

  • @AEF091 nah keane just head butted ppl lol roy keane living legend(but i dnt incourage violence)

  • @Finisherx619x I am not saying Keano was an angel, far from it. But he would not constantly run around the pitch looking for penalties and free kicks like ronaldo did.

  • @AEF091 How did Haaland ''almost end'' Keane's career. Maybe you should educate yourself on what actually happend. Keane injured himself when trying to tackle Haaland, he then got mad that Haaland accused him of faking injury so he made sure Haaland wouldn't ever play football again in 2001 when he assaulted him with that tackle. Hardly justice now was it?

  • @AEF091 'he ended someones career only beacause that same person almost ended his', Keano is a legend, you are a moron. he did it because you talk shit youll get hit.

  • @AEF091 Keane didnt end Haalands career its was because of his other knee not the one Keane connected with

  • @samwisegoodge Keane never ended anyones career.

Halaand's career was ended by his left leg, Keane hit him on his right leg.

The guy had two bad legs, nohting to do with Keane

  • @darkcowboyhero not according to what I have read I'm afraid

  • @samwisegoodge

Then what you read is wrong.

Halaand played the very next week and has said himself Keane did not cause his longterm Injury.

  • someone like tiger woods lol shut up eammon

  • Another thing i don't understand is why people thunk ronaldo is a great dribbler. he doesnt complete enough successful dribbles past opponents to warrant such a reputation, he mostly does silly stepovers then passes the ball immediiately. I'l admit he has quick fit, but he uses his pace rather than trickery to beat oppnents, Messi is definately leaps above him in this department.

  • @tripers Well done son you actually are of the few people who can see that ronaldo isnt an intelligent player and relies on his physical attributes more than his football brain. He doesnt actually beat that many players in a match to suggest hes a great dribbler. Messi beats players all the time so Messi is far better dribbler than ronaldo.I think ronaldo is a very good player but not a great player but he doesnt perform consistently against the best teams. Against barca last season he was shit

  • @shanman1019

Cheers mate. I just re-read what i wrote and I realised I made so many spelling mistakes. lol. People overrate Ronaldo because he looks like a superstar imho. Bottom line is that he isn't an intelligent player. He's a good player with ridiculous physical attributes and endurance. He has hardly been injured throuout his whole career which is why I think he manages to play so consistently.

  • messi has now gone on to achieve better things, 38 goals and 18 assists in 08/09, 47 goals and 14 assists last season. Counter arguement is tha messi is playing for arguably the best club side of all time. The only thing that Ronaldo is better than messi at is long range shooting, but messi never needs to do that because he always get himself into positions that don't require it.

  • Anyone, and i mean anyone that says Ronaldo is better than messi is very biased or is clueless about football. I hate barcelona, but even i can see messi is leaps and bound above him. When Ronaldo was at his best, the 07/08 42 goals season, in the two games they were both in, Messi outshone him completely, even though he was injured for 6 weeks. The following year, in the champions league final, the world saw it again, messi tore united apart, and ronaldo did nothing but hit a free kick at th gk

  • People are under the illusion that Ronaldo made united great. It as the other way round, United made ronaldo look great. They worked soooo hard for him it was ridiculous. He never tracked back, he lost the ball more than most in the premier league, he always whined when things didn't go his way. look at el classico, Ronaldo did sod all the whole game. Once you stop him from running, you stop him from having any impact all.

  • Zidane never depended on pace and was class, messi uses his pace, but doesnt depend on it, and they all perform on big games. Ronaldo is only good against little teams that have ull backs that can't deal with his pace. Apart from the game against chelsea in the champions league final, Ronaldo has failed to live up to the hype in big games, He is a player that is good at destroying small teams. That is what seperates him for the rest. They all perfor against big teams.

  • As a united player i think ronaldo is great, but he is NOT better than messi. I'd say he is a better athlete, but not footballer, if you get what i mean. Ronado isn't a very intelligent footballer, and ill bet that when he loses his pace and strength, he won't last. Look at giggsy and scholes, those are intelligent players that changed their styles of play to accomodate their detrimental physical attributes. Ronaldinho has lost his pace but is still a good player,

  • @tripers As a unite player i think ronaldo WAS...

  • dunphy u mawd man! but soo right about ronaldo. :L

  • I seem to remember Messi diving and getting Asier Del Horno sent off

  • Please.. hes bought something to the game more than any of these geezers talking about him. thats why he was bought for 80 million

  • Johnny Giles talking about Cheating..What a Joke!! Leeds in the 70s was a compelete set of cheating ba****s

  • Funny how Johnny Giles, one of the dirtiest players of all time gets on his high horse about Ronaldo.

As for Dunphy, he's more famous for writing a book ffs.

Those two shouldn't be commenting, Brady was a legend so he can talk away.

  • @DiarmaidHill08

Giles was one of the best players in England for 10 years you fool.

He makes all the lists of 50 greatest midfielders!

He wasn't dirty, he was creative, more Paul Scholes than Roy Keane. He was also VERY competitive, thats why he won things!

Bremner, Stiles, Souness, Viera, Keane - Giles was NEVER as dirty as them.

Dunphy was a skilful midfielder, was signed for Manchester United and played for 10 yrs in the 2nd division - this makes him more than qualified to comment!!

  • @simsey33

Giles was a member of one the dirtiest teams of all time, if not the dirtiest team.

He was a brilliant player, never said he wasn't. ROI's best ever but he's clearly a hipocrite.

  • @DiarmaidHill08

    How is Giles a hypocrite?

  • @simsey33

He was a fantastic player but he was dirty as f*** and a member of the dirtiest team about.

He can comment on Ronaldo's ability but not fairplay.

  • @DiarmaidHill08

You know as well as I do (or you should after ur comment about knowing more than me) that fb in the 70's was very different to now, particularly the English game. Leeds weren't the only dirty team, they were all at it, Leeds are more remembered cos they won things!

Giles never cheated, dived, conned refs, got others booked, sulked like a brat etc etc.

He's VERY entitled to comment on this from Ronaldo.

Ronaldo's behaviour destroys football as a SPORT.

    Messi's doesnt......

  • @simsey33

Kicking people is just as much cheating as diving.

As for best player in the world, Iniesta, Xavi and IMO, Ronaldo are better.

  • @DiarmaidHill08

Ah just go listen to what they said again and then read my comments again.

If you remember the match they're talking about you'll know they're 100% correct.

And compared to Ronaldo Messi is a fucking saint - thats not an opinion its a fact.

Its a fact stated by these guys who know exactly what they're talking about - you havent a fcukin clue.

I dont give a fcuk if you think Ronaldo is better than Messi - he's a fuckin twat, a diver, a cheater and not a team player.

    End of...

  • @simsey33

A twat? How does that affect him as a footballer?

A diver? Yes, but so do Rooney, Gerrard, Messi, Drogba, etc.

A cheater? Not nearly as much as Messi, who punches balls into the net in vital games that turn league titles.

Not a Team Player? He played a full WC out of position to accomodate his Portugal teammate. He won countless honours at Man United, you don't survive at United without being a team player.

  • @DiarmaidHill08

Fair enough man, it just means that our definitions of 'team player' are 100miles apart.

If you still prefer Ronaldo as a footballer over Messi then so be it. I think you would be in a distinct minority there (not that it matters of course) but let me say one more thing, everythiung that Giles and Dunphy said on this video about Ronaldo after 'that' performance V Barca was 100% correct.

I'm quite confident that time will also prove me even more correct

    Ciao...

  • @DiarmaidHill08

Oh, and tha twat thing, you also called Messi a twat but the diving, complaining, moaning, self indulgent behaviour like losing the ball and not even trying to gat it back is what made me call him a twat.

And Rooney, Gerrard, Messi have dived a hell of a lot less than Ronaldo has.

Just watch him every time he loses the ball - he's lazy

Mourinho might change him of course but I watched him for yrs at United and thats the way he was then...

  • @simsey33

No, more of it's made about Ronaldo ever since the World Cup when the media became biased towards him. He dives no more than most, but the media make him out to be much worse. Disgusting really. Simple fact is, until Messi proves himself in the Premiership, Ronaldo remains the best because he's done it in the two best leagues in the world.

And yes, Ronaldo did whine in that match, but he was losing a massive match, he should be emotional.

  • @DiarmaidHill08

You are in love with Criatiano Ronaldo.

Media bias my ass, Ronaldo's a prick and if u cant see it you're blind.

And he DOES dive more than most, thats
