No alcohol. they run on gas mix. Mine (amsoil cat with the onboard cam) runs on coleman camp fuel. Cleaner burn, same HP

Its not the driver doing the flips its the wake from of boats or waves. The tiny boats have no weight except the engine which is in the back. So in theory if one of the tiny little boats (but very Cool) gets on the wake or wave of a another there just going to flip since all the weight is in the back.
