this technology isn't really new at all it's been around for a while and was used first used years ago on foreign cars. i don't think it should be used. it's only gonna make people lazier and they won't ever learn how to properly park. if you gave um car with this for 5 years then asked um to do it without the computer they would hit ever thing around them.

There is a good AND bad to this park assist. Good: It helps you parallel park without scraping your rims or tires. Bad: It's the lazy way to park. In California, you have to parallel park on the driving test and if you hit the curb, you FAIL!!

vlady957... The big difference between this and Lexus' implementation of it is that this allows you to control the gas and brake pedals. So, if the system "fails," it isn't really a big deal. The steering might do strange things, but you're always in control of the brakes :)

It is not a copy of the Lexus. The Lexus use a camera base system. Ford use the more advance ultrasonic sensors base system, and is more accurate.

You'll be surprised on how much luxury features the Linc. Towncar have. It's just a sleeper because, it had almost the same body shape for a couple of years...but, it's a GREAT car! I rented one for the heck of it, during a trip to Fla.(just to see how, it REALLY is)and, I was amazed on, how smooooth the ride was...and, the lux. features(DVD opt. navi. screen, heated/cooled seats and, steering wheel, rear view cam., premium leather seats, etc.). I feel, It's definitely a lux. competitor! ;-)

Hey dummy, it's actually something entirely different. The Ford system utilizes ultrasonic sensors to determine its positioning. The Lexus system uses a video camera and is not terribly reliable. For instance, the Lexus system does not work well on hills whereas the Ford system does. The Ford will also fit in a tighter space than the Lexus. Know something before yammering on YouTube.
