These are great videos. Thanks for making these videos. Your insights into field of religion are intellectually enriching. How do you acquire such great intellectual power
Moderate Muslims are liars, hypocrites and cowards. If they don't want Western society making blanket statements of indignation against their religion then they should grow a dick and start proactively speaking out loudly against the extremists instead of keeping quiet until they feel someone is stepping on THEIR toes. If they separated themselves with their opinions, then no mistake by the West would be made.
@PaladinHero Woah dude calm down, Muslims have a right to believe what they want to without being bullied by jerks like you over youtube. Oh yeah, and your penis is small.
@MyBlastoiseIsBigger Sure they do. And they also have a right to stand up and denounce radicals and put the West's mind at ease over whether or not their religion is one of antagonism or peace (and not peace in the sense of "we've made a desert and called it peace", a la subjugation and destruction). And derpity derp my dick is huge and in your mom RIGHT NOW OH SNAP.
@PaladinHero I wont lie to you. I watch these videos, read comments, they say people are bad for following a religion, I find that silly as athiests and religious people are all people, I make a rude comment. I am not so much the big man but rather an inesure little man, as you can tell by my user name that is a Pokemon reference. And my mom is dead! Oh jokes on you! Btw, if your dick is truly big then what is the secret word that all big dicked guys know? jk all the best my friend!
These Islamic extremists are not human beings, they are MONSTERS!
All the so-called love and beauty of religion is NOTHING compared to all these evil acts.
You also see this in the Netherlands these days, as you mentioned before, the shooting and stabbing of Theo van Gogh by a Muslim extrimist. I wish Dutch government would throw all these extrimist bastards out. It is only a matter of time before the Dutch start fighting back, cause people are literally sick and tired of (moroccan) muslims here
The lines about how "extremism is pure uncut religion that has not been diluted with the progressive views of secular logic and reason" is so true.
It reminds me of Sam Harris' argument that the fundamentalists are actually "better" followers of their faith because they don't cherry pick like the moderates.

NEVER think that christian theocracy couldn't happen in this country. Listen, I mean really LISTEN to what the extreme right-wingers are saying, and pay attention specifically to what they say we should all "believe". Chances are, you won't hear any words about love, tolerance, or charity. If we let certain people gain control in this country, it WILL happen, and in our lifetime or our children's.
Just finished watching all 19 episodes and I hope that you continue this type of work. It's because of documentaries like these that our society and its religious beliefs will undoubtedly change within time. The question is, can logic give people compassion or make us have empathy. Does logic always appeal to the emotions. Are we truly better off without it? And if not religion, not logic, then what will move people to LOVE.
Hello and thanks for watching. There are actually 21 episodes now. Yes, logic can give people compassion and empathy. The evolution of emotion was a key factor in the survival of our species and we would have never come so far without it. This is a topic I will discuss in the miniseries on morality, which beings at episode 20. I am glad you have enjoyed the series thus far. Take care.
@discoveringreligion A bueatiful man like Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) he was a wonderfull wonderfull man.. with kindness liek no other on earth.. and brought peace & happyness to many nations in his time and after.. MAY GOD bless him and all his followers :-).. as for you i invite you to learn the truth about him and about the religon and not what the lopsided media says cuz thats mostly all lies my friends.. if not mabey 1 day in your life you stil have a chance you all do befor its 2 late :-)
@discoveringreligon and in other not (beleve it or not i can care less lol)!! cuz all the stuff you guys talk abotu him on the day when we are all resurected you/me/ as well as all of humanity except for the other prophets (AllaH knowes best!) will be running screaming to ask the lord to even start the judgement on such a scary horrable day.. so talk crap abotu him now but yo wont be in the future.. im not here to attack anyone belefes.. you do as you please im just sayign dont slannder a..
@discoveringreligon its funny that all you guys that make fun of such a bueatiful man when you never even been around him.. lmao the same geeks that talk all this big dawg stuff about him are prob very quite people on the street lol.. but the lord can hear and see everything you are all doing all you will be ? about the things you are saying about the bueatful prophet(pbuh).. and if Muhammad(pbuh) was alive 2 day he would stil embrace you all with love so to me ya dont have a leg to stand on
How is it slander? I have given you the verses in the Hadith where Muhammad orders the death of adulterers. Furthermore, its a well-known fact that Muhammad married Aisha at 6 years old and had sex with her at age 9. Look in the Hadith: Muslim (8:3309) and Bukhari (58:234). These are FACTS, not my opinions. But if this is not the truth, please give me documentation to the contrary.
I cant wait for the day when every church, mosque, and every religious institution is leveled to the ground...science flys people into space...religion flys people into towers!
muhammad(pbuh) was the most bueatiful man that ever lived if you ever rea the truth abotu his life he was the most passionet, kindest, wonderfull man that ever live man GOD put MANY MANY blessign on him!..
You're a Muslim and you don't even know about the Hadith? I am sure they have one at your mosque. Next time, ask one of the clerics to show it to you and look up the following passages: Ibn Ishaq (970), Bukhari (6:60:79), Bukhari (83:37), Muslim (17:4196), Muslim (17:4206), Muslim (17:4209). Isn't religion great? LOL! You cannot dispute Muhammad's crimes because they are all written down in a book. Muhammad was a pedophile and a warlord -- these are historical facts.
I think there is a missing link here because you missed out how they could receive grace if they had committed sin. With the governmental law here, if you went against the law, they would be put to prison or death. But you need to read the whole of Leviticus to get the context of the chapter which you focus on. If they sinned, they can receive forgiveness by the sacrifices which pointed to Christ dying for the sins of all. So this is episode is not truly honest
And f-ing hell, this ep (whole of 19) made me quite angry. Can't believe there are such monstrous people in this world. But they're there, doing all they can for their place in their specific heaven.
Thus, one might say that we are not in a position to execrate Biblical or Qur'anic punishments as "heinously evil" except on the basis of a subjective, relative notion of morality. I'm not even necessarily sure that we need to have an objective conception of morals to find stoning someone to death repugnant, but it does seem to me that our case would be stronger if we did have an argument for objective morality in the absence of the divine. Do you know of one? Thanks and keep up the good work.
@nyscholartist Why? The reason why objective morality is so stupid, is because life isn't static. If you cannot bear false witness, would you have sold out jews during WWII? If you cannot kill a person, would you rather step back and watch someone you loved be killed - taking for argument sake that a peaceful option isn't available?
Objective morality are two words that should never even be together in the first place.
@Shangori I agree. I'm not persuaded that there is any such thing as objective morality. After I posted my comment, I saw DiscoveringReligion's video on secular vs. biblical morality. The argument was that we can make subjective observations to arrive at objective conclusions about morality. That which preserves an individual's autonomy and benefits society is good; that which violates one's autonomy and harms society is bad.
@Shangori He then says that, on this basis, we can know that charity is objectively good and that murder is objectively bad. The problem, of course, is that what is beneficial to society is construed very differently from culture to culture. It is, for instance, considered beneficial to society in some cultures to keep women in the domestic sphere. As for autonomy, this is merely a modern liberal presupposition.
@Shangori In other societies, one owes duties to one's family, village, tribe, nation, etc. which supersede his or her individual desires and preferences. Thus, for example, one would be expected to marry even if he or she doesn't wish to get married at all. This is his or her social duty and to neglect it would be to bring shame upon the family. So it's unclear how we get from this subjective conception of morals to anything objective.
@Shangori If we could say that we find slavery and rape objectively morally wrong, then we might be on firmer footing than saying that we find them subjectively morally wrong. The theist can say, "Well, maybe it's disturbing, but God commanded it, so it must be right." Our response would then have to be, "Well, I find that god disgusting based on my morals. Also, there are other reasons why it's unlikely that this god exists (i.e. poor design, doubts about who Jesus was and what he did, etc.)."
For just as we could argue that compassion and altruism are good because they were good rules of thumb for our ancestors to survive and reproduce. We could similarly argue that polygamy did the same for our ancestors. Indeed, most human societies have been polygamous to one degree or another. Human rights have not been argued for objectively, a difficult thing to do given that it is a historical production that arose from the horrors of World War II.
Another thing ... I agree with you that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam promote evil in various ways. But this based on my subjective notion of evil. I have not yet encountered a strong atheist/naturalist argument for objective morality. Rawlsian contractualism isn't particularly persuasive. And we can't draw on our Darwinian past for objective moral values and duties.
One might ask why you didn't discuss the fact that adultery was punishable by death for centuries after the early Christian scribes tried to falsely portray Jesus as merciful toward adulterers. The seventeenth-century Laws of New England prescribed death for adultery and were an explicitly religious legal document. So it is somewhat simplistic to portray Christianity as more innocent than Islam merely because the early Christians didn't find the Mosaic punishment for adultery palatable.
I'm not for a moment suggesting that having public lashings for adultery, as the Qur'an prescribes, is better than what we in the United States--namely, no punishment whatsoever. But there is a leap from your discussion of Hadith to the draconian example of Iran today as if all that happened in between the writing and compilation of Hadith and the 1979 Iranian Revolution was stoning for adultery wherever Islam reigned.
In short, it's unclear why you stop the clock with the Hadith narratives rather than looking at the history of the contestation of Islamic jurisprudence on the question of the penalty for adultery which leads from the time of the Hadith to certain predominantly Muslim countries in the twenty first century that permit enforce stoning for adultery. The majority of predominantly Muslim countries don't enforce this penalty.
And many of these accounts appear to be implausible in light of basic observations about human behavior. The guilty not only confess and ask to be purified but often insist on being given the severest punishment imaginable. Of course, it's possible for someone to desire such a thing, but it doesn't seem likely to have happened repeatedly, especially if the early Muslims knew that the threat of such a severe punishment existed.
However, modernist Muslim scholars, such as Javed Ghamidi, are arguing that the Qur'anic punishment for zina (which means both fornication and adultery) must supersede even authentic Hadith accounts because the Qur'an is the primary authoritative source of law in Islam. Thus, many of the stories of stoning in the Hadith involve the punishment only of men, who were likely guilty of rape and therefore of "hirabah" or spreading chaos throughout the land.
Good video. My only criticism is about your discussion of the punishment for adultery in Islam. You give credit to the early Christian scribes for trying to resolve the contradiction between Christ's message of love and the Mosaic penalty for adultery by producing a fabricated story. You then say that no such thing happened in the history of Islam and that Muhammad demanded the Mosaic penalty for stoning. Thus, in effect, Islam became more regressive than Christianity in this respect.
Hello every one, I am from Pakistan, A student of Physics and also a lecturer in a college. It is since one decade while I am researching on the religion and the contemporary science.
What I have observed in a religious person that they always reject the reasoning and logic and prefer there religious scripture.
Here in Pakistan the peoples are even unaware with the meaning of “freedom of speech”. I also have got some threats when I share some views about the concept of GOD in Islam.
this playlist and that of 3vid3nc3 have a remarkable similarity: they're both incredibly well-made and they both kept me watching from the beginning to the end without a break :)
Religion is like a penis: it's okay to have one and be proud of it, but don't go waving it around it public, and do NOT shove it down my kid's throats.
This was a good series; I watched all three parts. However, I feel that the title, "If America Became a Christian Nation" is a bit misleading. The content of the three video clips focused more on the darker and violent side of the Bible and Quran. When I saw the title of the series, I was expecting to see how Christianity would affect the aspects of life in America, such as education, politics, science, etc.
@knifeforkandaspoon LOOK AT TEXAS AND OTHER PLACES WHERE CREATIONISTS RUN SCHOOLS AS FOR POLITICS NO POLITICAN WHO DOSENT BELEIVE IN GOD CANNOT BE ELECTED AS PEOPLE ARE BIASED
@knifeforkandaspoon This was the crux of the whole series.. Underlined in part 3. Extremist interpretation of theocratic law is simply religion unimpeded by progressive logic and reason. The effects on education and politics would be insignificant when compared to the massive dishing out of the death penalties (even for thought crimes). We are currently considered a christian nation right now... Fortunately (or unfortunately depending upon your perspective) in name only.
i want to explain some missed details in the first islamic story the woman was a mother that was right and she did come more than once to tell Mohammad she commited adultry he asked her more than once to go and re think he didnt say it clearly but the first time he said give birth to a the child second he said breast feed him the third time he stoned her bottom line in Islam you cant stone anyone to death unless he confessthe adultry 4 times you can make sure of what i say in Islamic web sites
Your video is very enlightening, delivered in a very objective way. I agree with what you've all said. the fact that the cause of all these injustices and atrocities happening in this world is because of religion. Religion creates discrimination and hate among' st us all. The Crusade is one of the basic example, which by the way the Christian are so proud about it. Now in this modern time we have the Christian and Islamic extremist. Good work and hoping to see more on your channel.
@whitekassie wrote: "the cause of all these injustices and atrocities happening in this world is because of religion".
Other major causes: IMF, World Bank, banksters, unrestrained capitalism, debtocracy, weapons manufacturers, patents on AIDS drugs & human genome, water privatization, world resources distribution, plutocracy, GMO, wars for oil & other resources, nuclear weapons & tests, etc. Lot of evil in the world caused, encouraged or permited by our western governments & industries.
this just furthers my feelings why i HATE all religion. i really dont care if some say you should be put to death or not, some one will ruin it, and they will have followers.
Fundamentalist religion is barbaric. It magnifies our most base and animalistic tendencies.Great series, but I'm afraid you're preaching to the choir (to use a Christian metaphor). I wish those who want America to be a Christian nation could understand your videos, but their tendency is to combat rationality with proud irrationality and ignorance.
If We really care about Women's Rights in the developing world we should be looking into why the ECONOMIES are so bad and I do hope you realize that every currency in the world is tied into the U.S. Dollar. Anyway once we have a vibrant economies in the developing world the women will rise up for themselves as they have time and time again.
good video but TO say Muhammad was not Progressive compared to his counterparts is not Fair or accurate, he Stopped the practice of female INFANTACIDE, gave women the right to own property and recieve inheritance, gave the women the right to choose who to marry and oppossed RACISM stating that "neither Black is superior to White or White is superior to Black, neither Arab is superior to Nonarab or Non arab is superior to Arab" Also Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh elected Women Leaders
a mob is too many extremely stupid people with too much motovation. seriously there are no problems in any country that cannot be defined as human problems.
My grandmother , a Christian of 50 years at least has watched all of your vids . She said she was at a loss for words . I think I might have broke the spell with your vids. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the effort you put into these vids . I Am also making copys of this series to pass around to people who dont have internet . We are making a difference .
bukhari 6: 60:79 , mohammad said the adulterer must be stone until dead. yet himself commit an adultery. and he has so many wife.. why does he called it wife?? because he afraid , he lost his might .. after commit adultery he married those girls. and now those girls called as his wife :). if im wrong could someone telling me the truth???
DiscoveringReligion - These episodes are simply awesome. Thank you for providing your insight. Btw, what is your view on Dharmic and Eastern Religions (e.g., Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, etc.). Do you view them in the same light as Abrahamic Religions, or differently?
@Dzongka I'm sure he'll cover them due to their HUGE influence and ongoing prominence. I'm just as sure that later on he's going to cover emerging faiths such as Baha'i or maybe even Wicca.
Islam is so disgusting. a man can marry many wives but a woman is supposed to have only one husband. how biased is dat. not only quran, but many religions do not give equal importance to women and treat women as jus slaves in managing homes and preparing food. such a shame if there is any god who created so, with so much differentiation. this surely shows that religion is also another idea emanated from human mind.
no, i didn't miss the point, i just chose to comment on one aspect of it. i just feel that its a misrepresentation. and you can keep saying that the bible is contradictory, and you can have that personal opinion. but i have found it to not be contradictory at all and that i believe to be true.
Regarding the adultery in the heart. Yes, all men/women are guilty. that is the point of Jesus dying on the cross. "All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God." - Yes all men are deserving of death and hell. But That is where the gospel comes in. Turn from your sin and put your faith in Jesus. And you will be saved. its not to draw numbers, but to draw the few who really want God. there is no contradiction. i have studied the bible for years, i am also pakistani and my family muslims

I just watched this whole series all day on my nice day off for memorial day weekend. VERY well put together, this is something I can show my family because it is not criticizing and looking down on the beliefs but yet presenting them in the way they are and being shown the contrary. Beautiful work man, nicely done.
I just wanted to say that your videos are great! I have become addicted and started showing them to all my friends. I was also wondering if you could inform me, where is that footage from, where they stone the woman, and on the slave ships, like getting whipped and getting tied to an anchor and thrown overboard...? I would really appreciate it... Thanks and keep it up
The other two parts of this story are available to be watched on the iphone as are your other videos that i have watched. Why is this particular video blocked by you. How are supposed to spread your message when you limit who can hear it.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Moses, Christ & muhammad preached people"How to Kill""Why to Kill". Rather Hinduism Preached Karma means your own deed. You will get punisment in your present life or in next Life. Due to Karma, Million-Million people away from bad deeds.
Thank you for all of your hard work. I am a former Muslim myself and this stuff is actually preached by "moderate" muslims. It is absolutely disgusting!
This was an amazing series i am recommending it to all of my friends or at least the one's who show signs of rational thinking lol definitely not my parents. Once i started watching it i couldnt stop i have been sitting in front of my laptop for 4 hours lol.
Great Work... when are you gonna be coming up with new episodes?
Discoveryreligion, mohummud, is not from God, but from evil, and islam is the religion started by man inspired by the Devil. Your religion is based only on the wisdom of man, - Mr. muhummud, but it is not based by the power of God of Abramham, with human face of Jesus.
@DiscoveringReligion2 I forget which episode you said "macro-evolution is never going to be observable" but I was thinking very critically about that statement and began to think what if us humans got through all the hard times and one day maybe thousands of yours into the future we became immortal somehow or at least had machines that could record this kind of evolution; do you think this could or would ever happen to our species and would that be considered observing macro-evolution?
Excellent series so far, very well thought out and put together, up to the last few episodes where you've taken it from a neutral world-view and concentrated on America. More specifically regarding Islam, the extremists exist the world over, not just America. Understood that a lot of you are American, YouTube is a mostly worldwide service that caters for more than just those who (as demonstrated) barely understand evolution and the religions they believe so hard in. (sorry for being generic)
So if a man looks at a woman he's guily of adultery and deserves the penalty of death, but when a priest rapes little kids, the church never punish them. They dont kick them out of the church even, they keep their priesthood.
And they then wonder why it is that we atheists dont see how good and just their god and church is.... Its a very actual topic now here in belgium.
Anyway, i loved this serie, thank you for making that.
This is an absolutely wonderful series! I thank you sincerely for your beautifully phrased, undiluted, enlightening videos. Three cheers for reason, tolerance, and understanding!
Are there any plans to continue this series soon? I've been waiting with baited breath, but it seems like this was the last one, and I havent seen anything else from you :( which is disappointing, because you're quite eloquent and compelling.
As an ex-believer I can tell you that scriptural 'cherry picking' is a mental dance of denial wherein one balances one's common humanity and one's fear of Hellfire.
Amazing. Truly blown away. I am recommending everyone I know to watch this. You deserve more credit than you will probably receive, which unfortunately is a shame, but you have at least changed one persons outlook. Thank you.
hes so logical isnt he. Its a logical view this series has, but no one knows the truth. Sometimes tuff love is there to help, I dont agree with any of these death penalties, we seem to have evolved and become better, the majurity of us. Life, who knows the answers?

hahaha leave it to the prophet Muhammad to let 5th century Jews and Christians to seem like the "progressives" of their time.
Fundamentalist religious views are proof that humanity has been a failure.

Are you ready to die?
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery with here in your heart. have u done that?
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
Do u need a Savior from your sins?
Jesus came, lived a sinless life, died (for our sins) and rose again on the third day.

And if not religion, not logic, then what will move people to LOVE.
ttbymrspring 4 months ago
@ttbymrspring
Take care.

MrWagman11 5 months ago
I think there is a missing link here because you missed out how they could receive grace if they had committed sin. With the governmental law here, if you went against the law, they would be put to prison or death. But you need to read the whole of Leviticus to get the context of the chapter which you focus on. If they sinned, they can receive forgiveness by the sacrifices which pointed to Christ dying for the sins of all. So this is episode is not truly honest

Shangori 5 months ago
Thus, one might say that we are not in a position to execrate Biblical or Qur'anic punishments as "heinously evil" except on the basis of a subjective, relative notion of morality. I'm not even necessarily sure that we need to have an objective conception of morals to find stoning someone to death repugnant, but it does seem to me that our case would be stronger if we did have an argument for objective morality in the absence of the divine. Do you know of one? Thanks and keep up the good work.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
@nyscholartist Why? The reason why objective morality is so stupid, is because life isn't static. If you cannot bear false witness, would you have sold out jews during WWII? If you cannot kill a person, would you rather step back and watch someone you loved be killed - taking for argument sake that a peaceful option isn't available?
Objective morality are two words that should never even be together in the first place.
Shangori 5 months ago
@Shangori I agree. I'm not persuaded that there is any such thing as objective morality. After I posted my comment, I saw DiscoveringReligion's video on secular vs. biblical morality. The argument was that we can make subjective observations to arrive at objective conclusions about morality. That which preserves an individual's autonomy and benefits society is good; that which violates one's autonomy and harms society is bad.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
@Shangori He then says that, on this basis, we can know that charity is objectively good and that murder is objectively bad. The problem, of course, is that what is beneficial to society is construed very differently from culture to culture. It is, for instance, considered beneficial to society in some cultures to keep women in the domestic sphere. As for autonomy, this is merely a modern liberal presupposition.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
@Shangori In other societies, one owes duties to one's family, village, tribe, nation, etc. which supersede his or her individual desires and preferences. Thus, for example, one would be expected to marry even if he or she doesn't wish to get married at all. This is his or her social duty and to neglect it would be to bring shame upon the family. So it's unclear how we get from this subjective conception of morals to anything objective.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
@Shangori If we could say that we find slavery and rape objectively morally wrong, then we might be on firmer footing than saying that we find them subjectively morally wrong. The theist can say, "Well, maybe it's disturbing, but God commanded it, so it must be right." Our response would then have to be, "Well, I find that god disgusting based on my morals. Also, there are other reasons why it's unlikely that this god exists (i.e. poor design, doubts about who Jesus was and what he did, etc.)."
nyscholartist 5 months ago
For just as we could argue that compassion and altruism are good because they were good rules of thumb for our ancestors to survive and reproduce. We could similarly argue that polygamy did the same for our ancestors. Indeed, most human societies have been polygamous to one degree or another. Human rights have not been argued for objectively, a difficult thing to do given that it is a historical production that arose from the horrors of World War II.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
Another thing ... I agree with you that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam promote evil in various ways. But this based on my subjective notion of evil. I have not yet encountered a strong atheist/naturalist argument for objective morality. Rawlsian contractualism isn't particularly persuasive. And we can't draw on our Darwinian past for objective moral values and duties.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
One might ask why you didn't discuss the fact that adultery was punishable by death for centuries after the early Christian scribes tried to falsely portray Jesus as merciful toward adulterers. The seventeenth-century Laws of New England prescribed death for adultery and were an explicitly religious legal document. So it is somewhat simplistic to portray Christianity as more innocent than Islam merely because the early Christians didn't find the Mosaic punishment for adultery palatable.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
I'm not for a moment suggesting that having public lashings for adultery, as the Qur'an prescribes, is better than what we in the United States--namely, no punishment whatsoever. But there is a leap from your discussion of Hadith to the draconian example of Iran today as if all that happened in between the writing and compilation of Hadith and the 1979 Iranian Revolution was stoning for adultery wherever Islam reigned.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
In short, it's unclear why you stop the clock with the Hadith narratives rather than looking at the history of the contestation of Islamic jurisprudence on the question of the penalty for adultery which leads from the time of the Hadith to certain predominantly Muslim countries in the twenty first century that permit enforce stoning for adultery. The majority of predominantly Muslim countries don't enforce this penalty.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
And many of these accounts appear to be implausible in light of basic observations about human behavior. The guilty not only confess and ask to be purified but often insist on being given the severest punishment imaginable. Of course, it's possible for someone to desire such a thing, but it doesn't seem likely to have happened repeatedly, especially if the early Muslims knew that the threat of such a severe punishment existed.
nyscholartist 5 months ago
However, modernist Muslim scholars, such as Javed Ghamidi, are arguing that the Qur'anic punishment for zina (which means both fornication and adultery) must supersede even authentic Hadith accounts because the Qur'an is the primary authoritative source of law in Islam. Thus, many of the stories of stoning in the Hadith involve the punishment only of men, who were likely guilty of rape and therefore of "hirabah" or spreading chaos throughout the land.
nyscholartist 5 months ago

This is an absolutely wonderful series! I thank you sincerely for your beautifully phrased, undiluted, enlightening videos. Three cheers for reason, tolerance, and understanding!

Judaism and Christianity are generated by the same Abrahamic belief system that generates Mohammedism.

Are there any plans to continue this series soon? I've been waiting with baited breath, but it seems like this was the last one, and I havent seen anything else from you :( which is disappointing, because you're quite eloquent and compelling.

You have exposed religion for what it truly is. One of the best videos I have ever seen on Youtube. Waiting for your next episode.

Thank you.

These are great videos. Thanks for making these videos. Your insights into field of religion are intellectually enriching. How do you acquire such great intellectual power

hahaha leave it to the prophet Muhammad to let 5th century Jews and Christians to seem like the "progressives" of their time.
Fundamentalist religious views are proof that humanity has been a failure.
"Coexistence" is as laughable a human invention as any religion I could think of.

PaladinHero 1 month ago
@PaladinHero Woah dude calm down, Muslims have a right to believe what they want to without being bullied by jerks like you over youtube. Oh yeah, and your penis is small.
MyBlastoiseIsBigger 1 month ago
@MyBlastoiseIsBigger Sure they do. And they also have a right to stand up and denounce radicals and put the West's mind at ease over whether or not their religion is one of antagonism or peace (and not peace in the sense of "we've made a desert and called it peace", a la subjugation and destruction). And derpity derp my dick is huge and in your mom RIGHT NOW OH SNAP.
PaladinHero 1 month ago

So according to Muhammad, you can stone the woman, but not too hard?
DarkPhoenixSaga 3 months ago
The lines about how "extremism is pure uncut religion that has not been diluted with the progressive views of secular logic and reason" is so true.
It reminds me of Sam Harris' argument that the fundamentalists are actually "better" followers of their faith because they don't cherry pick like the moderates.

Law and Constitution, Never have to with the religions so everyone who is that area open you damn eyes, and Learn from our histrory if religions be destroy we will be have better people do what is Rigth. Also stand up by all means for your self and don't get to limit you..

And if not religion, not logic, then what will move people to LOVE.
ttbymrspring 4 months ago
@ttbymrspring
Take care.
