Im an older feller myself, and I think your voice is just fine - reminds of some of my southern kinfolks down in Rayville, La. Im in Yankee country - hope that doesnt offend anyone. Anyways - good job!
Well, that would be great to meet y'all, ma'am. Tell you what, gonna send you a friend request and we'll keep in touch, it would be great to have all y'all down here and fix some good old barbecue! Just lemme know when and we'll get it done!
I can't wait to show my husband this! I think you're great! We're gonna be coming down from the north this summer (June)--Sure would like to meet you!
don't sell you voice short Bud, look at John Prine, he would never win american Idol, but he has agreat voice for the songs he sings. I've only heard a couple of your vids so far and your voice and presentation is really good. AND I LOVE THAT SOUTHERN PRIDE!!!! so keep on pickin' and singin'
Good point, Phillipa1. But please, note that I often use quotes to describe the "songs" I play, simply because they are not actual songs, but lessons taught by a book, that resemble, are loosely based on the actual songs, parts of it, if you will. So that's all the material the book gave me for now... I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there will be a time when I'll be playing REAL songs here, but I have to finish my practicing first. Thanks for watching.
Oh, my old British friend, sumbeams7. Nice to see you around once again. Thanks for the compliment, pardner! Sorry to disappoint you though, but the big ole hat and the Southern accent stay! That's who I am, sorry if I'm not British or Yankee, but I'm damn proud of being a redneck with a "dumn" accent. Anyways, nice to see ya here again, stick around!
Thanks once again, granniejans! By the way, I think I've found out what the big secret is, I just need to play the notes a little lower while I'm singing, tha way I don't have to "compete" with the banjo's volume. Y'all stay tuned, Handsome Molly is coming soon!
Well, thank you darling, appreciate it! In that case, y'all stick around cause soon I'll have "Handsome Molly" here, one of my favorite tunes ever, and I might try to sing it too... Thanks!!!
Mike, that's great! No wounded ducks here! You were totally in tune and authentic sounding... no more apologies for the voice, y'hear! A good song, too.
Hey! I like the way you talk. It makes me feel like I know you. Plus you play a good banjo.
