2008. I walked into Hot Topic and saw Alkaline Trio everywhere. Had a new album, "Agony & Irony". Couldn't believe what I was seeing. I don't listen to the radio and I don't watch TV so I didn't know Alk3 had become so...well, mainstream. Went through "Crimson" and it didn't even hit me. Just recently I got around to listening to the "new" A&I and I dig it. Now there is another new album?

Agony and Irony was a horrible album, you have no idea what you're talking about. Alkaline Trio's first four albums were their best, Good Mourning wasn't bad, but from Crimson on out it was all down hill. This song, fortunately, is reminiscent of their older stuff, so I give it a pass.

I read on the internet a few weeks back that Matt said he wanted to go back to their punk rock roots. When I heard this song, I wasn't really impressed. It sounds quite generic. The thing that pisses me off about this is that A3 are much more talented than this. I quite like the music and the chorus, but the lyrics and the verses are really simplistic. I'm not saying it's a terrible song, I think it's decent, but nowhere near as good as their older work.
