Part two gave you a look behind Hostel and how everything works. I thought the first one was better gore wise and the second was better story wise. @Anyrpg did you really just say no one disses Saw? They're both about on the same level of criticism of torture porn and what not. That isn't saying that I don't enjoy watching the movies. They are terrible films, but I do enjoy watching stuff that makes me cringe. Although I wish that horror movies would go back to not just being about blood and boobs. It's not scary anymore it's just intense. A Nightmare on Elm Street (the original) is terrifying and groundbreaking.

Hostel is mostly gore and does not really have an interesting story, the dialogue in Hostel is only there just to keep the film going.

Well obviously if some critics praised the film, and it had "some" box office success, people liked it. Nobody gets raped in this film by the way. And the torture scenes? They are made for a pure shock-thrill, and are successful at doing it.

I'm a chick, and I love these movies. I love blood and gore and these movies definitely lived up to that. AND they actually have a story line. Part two gave you a look behind Hostel and how everything works. I thought the first one was better gore wise and the second was better story wise. There may be a lot of tits but hey, what are you gonna do.

@Anyrpg did you really just say no one disses Saw? They're both about on the same level of criticism of torture porn and what not. That isn't saying that I don't enjoy watching the movies. They are terrible films, but I do enjoy watching stuff that makes me cringe. Although I wish that horror movies would go back to not just being about blood and boobs. It's not scary anymore it's just intense. A Nightmare on Elm Street (the original) is terrifying and groundbreaking.

@Anyrpg saw and hostel are completely different levels of horror. hostel is mindless gratuity, with one-dimensional murderer antagonists, whereas saw actually features a film-noir background with a villain that, though initially appearing as demented as any, actually draws sympathy over its sequels thanks to a tragic and complex story that far outweighs films like hostel. neither are horror classics like Night of the Living Dead, but saw is much deeper, in aesthetic and plot.

@Anyrpg not necessarily, the only thing SAW and Hostel have in common is the gore. SAW actually has a strong storyline that has unexpected twists and ends with a cliffhanger. Hostel is mostly gore and does not really have an interesting story, the dialogue in Hostel is only there just to keep the film going.
