I've thought about getting into LoL/HoN/DOTA, but the player communities are full of haters. Any new player just gets kicked out of matches for being a noob. Even if you try a casual, unranked match you are hit by a wall of abuse from your team mates.
@dargurt OMG. that is retarded. HoN and LoL isnt fucking the same. LoL is no skilled. just who gets the best heroes or champions or whatever. HoN is freaking teamplay! LoL is for Loners. And LoL is free, so that is sure that they have more accounts than HoN. HoN is twice as good as LoL.

@darkkreak Get your facts strait. HoN is free as well.. HERP DERP And try winning a game at lvl 30 without teamwork. You will most likely lose. Just won a game 4v5 yesterday solely because we had better teamwork. So if anything you were saying was true we would have lost. The only "skill" that HoN has over LoL is denying. Although unlike LoL, HoN has EASY one shot kill ults to make up for that difference.
@MrAjRut HoN and LoL have differen't mechanics that make them both easy and hard.... I play both and simply love them both... High level in both .. 30 in LoL so I know how hard it can get... Your right about the LoL does have skill but your wrong that HoN does not require skill... HoN requires just as much skill as LoL and vice versa... They are two differen't games..... Don't hate on either one, both are amazing and fun :) I don't like it when people fight about these 2 when they are different.

my only concern with Dota2 is what kind of new, original stuff they would add.

I like valve games ... no I LOVE valve games but I hate RTS games. I heard that this game is kinda live diablo but with a online deathmatch type thing. Is this true, because if it is I will buy this game straight away and valve would have made another great game.

@hectorgilhang30 they might release a new patch that increases the file size cap for maps. just a thought though. i don't think the first dota on warcraft 3 won't die easily. it will still be played by thousands of players after dota 2 will be released.
Well basically the situation is that, Companies like Riot Games bought the rights of DotA to icefrog to use Icefrog mod to make a new game, in all the project such as LoL or HoN or any other game that is based on DotA, Icefrog DID help them, and now Valve bought DotA rights too and they are going to make an advanced DotA improvement with the source engine, so DotA 2 is Valve + Icefrog basically

IceFrog came in much much later and took over wat Guinsoo handed over to him. thats all.

@hectorgilhang30 they might release a new patch that increases the file size cap for maps. just a thought though. i don't think the first dota on warcraft 3 won't die easily. it will still be played by thousands of players after dota 2 will be released.

Well basically the situation is that, Companies like Riot Games bought the rights of DotA to icefrog to use Icefrog mod to make a new game, in all the project such as LoL or HoN or any other game that is based on DotA, Icefrog DID help them, and now Valve bought DotA rights too and they are going to make an advanced DotA improvement with the source engine, so DotA 2 is Valve + Icefrog basically

DotA is ok but LoL is pretty much an improved version of dota wich makes it better.

funny how the makers of LoL are allegedly the real creators of DoTA, yet LoL has such a shit feel to it. almost nothing like the feel we have come to love in DoTA.
whoever "created" DoTA doesn't matter, Icefrog has made it the game it is today and will make it even better upon the release of DoTA 2

@seromba LoL is shitty because it's meant for children. The real creator of DotA is "Eul" who is not affiliated with either of the games. Yes, DotA 2 is going to be a huge success. Ask people about "Riot" or "S2", many might not know. Ask anyone about " Steam/Valve " and they will instantly recognize it.

@jds711 Truth to be told, Icefrog began dota with very few resources, limited to that what he could find inside warcraft and/or other games since he's not an artist or voice actor himself, he was just a mapmaker/programmer, just like I am. :)

@serbianbeast1 TOTALLY DISAGREE!!!! IT WASNT ICEFROG ANYWHERE NEAR DOTA. Dota began when Eul imported a starcraft map into warcraft that resembled dota. then dota becaame dota-all starts when eul handled over the responsibility to Guinsoo. so infact it was Guinsoo who made dota as DoTA that we see today. IceFrog came in much much later and took over wat Guinsoo handed over to him. thats all.

@jeffzach20 You are right when you say Guinsoo was the creator of DotA Allstars, BUT that doesn't mean that it's the DotA we see today, because almost 6-7 years ago Guinsoo quit from making DotA and handled it to IceFrog, so it's really IceFrog the one that made DotA so popular, so balanced, so original, so fun, and he will keep doing this with DotA2 <3
