I know Sonia would not have beaten Kathy (after all, this was the year she ran 22.13!), but Sonia was certainly about to come through to challenge the minor places just as cramp struck.
I was there that day and saw Sonia walking on the concourse afterwards. She said she was okay but I think that might have been the last 200 she ever ran.
Sonia did not look like she was coming through,It seemed like Kathy was moving away, She always had the best finish because of her 400m.

@jackacw not an accurate staement as Kathy didn't take up the 400M until a couple of years after this.

She ran some 200's in 1984, with a best for that year of 23.4 - unfortunately not good enough to make the Olympic team...
