@ApathyCollider <--- There are things that are timeless. War crimes, e.g., is one. Cruel and unusual, is another. I am not criticizing you for making this vid. That's not the reason I am putting in my 2-bit. I am criticizing the cruelty with which such *food is prepared. See that little halibut flapping, when its head was cut with such extreme force? That's CRUEL. What's more, it is UNNECESSARY to inflict that kind of pain on a life. Alternative? Well, how about a good whack?
@1greatdude I actually totally agree with you. One of the reasons I put this video up was to draw attention to the discomfort that cruelty had given me. Thanks for your feedback.
@thammy07 Considering this video was posted nearly three years ago, maybe it won't surprise you to learn that I have, in fact, traveled more. However, I don't think that in the majority of the places I've been to it's a common sight to see your dinner butchered directly before you eat it. I was 22 when this video was made and fresh out of college. Maybe you need to travel more before you criticize others' three year old videos?
It's also too bad that video can't pick up the smells. The spectrum of smells in Korea is huge, especially at the market, and makes for wonderful memories later in life when you come across those smells in some other place.
It's too bad that so many people are so distanced from where their food comes from that to see their food actually be killed is a shock to them. I think everyone should have to kill their own food at least once in their life so they have a greater appreciation for life, and understand that this creature gave it's life so that you may carry on, rather than just opening a styrofoam box and munching on a burger, not even caring where it came from.
