  • Yea, the regular black Juniors are unjustly underrated, I think they sound great. I tried both at Guitar center, and they are both fine, but it's not worth the extra hundred for the Tweed in my opinion.

  • @Lovemylovething Yes you are right!, I think both sounds great, just a little different.

  • The black amp sounded better (better note definition.) The tweed sounded muffled by comparison. I'm curious what the mod was supposed to do for the tweed? Thanks for the comparison. I have a stock tweed jr.

  • @rbauer1632 Hi Thanks for your commen,I hear it different, for me the tweed sounds clearer and on the distortion you can hear every note, but finally both amps sounds good for me :-)

  • @rbauer1632 how do you like your tweed blues junior? all stock? i'm interested in buying one, and would like to know the tone. is it fat, or thin. is it hot, thats what i want, something warm, fat and hot.

  • @prefixproductions1 Yes, mine is all stock. I play blues so I like it just on the edge of breakup. I prefer the fat switch tone to my TS 808 tube screamer. Volume is massive for such a little amp. Use the preamp around 7 for a good home volume. Crank the master and it absolutely sizzles. I've had to learn how to dial in good bass response, but it's there. EQ can be tricky. Depends on my ear from day to day.

  • Sounds sweet and I prefer the first amp, nice riffs Ed!!!

  • @MCguit88 Thank you very much for your opinion :-) I think I will change the V1 tube on the black j III for more clean sound a high volume...
