This concert was amazing. I was there when I was 16. What a blast. Such a shame about the two deaths though...the surge was fuckin scary as hell. I remember being able to lift my feet off the ground and staying completely lifted off the ground because of the tightness of the crowd. Kiss were probably the most forgettable band of the day, I hafta say. The best was Maiden, then GnR, then Megadeth, then Helloween, then DLR, then Kiss. imo

I was at that concert in Schweinfurt 8.27.88. I was a 20 year old soldier & me & some buddies rented a car and drove up there. The night before was a party like no other!!! The german wikipedia entry says: "substantial excesses of fans the night before the festival had consequences for MofR in the following years." No doubt, we destroyed Schweinfurt more than the Army Air Force in WWII!!!!! thanks for the memories! ps my MofR ticket from that day is taped to my computer!

I was in the Army. I was 21 when I went to that show. I really enjoyed reading your comment and thus; felt compelled to comment myself. One thing that was weird; around 1990 when I got out of the Army, I was way out in the woods at a hunting camp, I remember feeling a bit like a snob (like, there is no way any of these locals have done things like I experienced). Sure enough, I talked to a dude who was at that very show. SMALL WORLD. And at 41, I'm in a heavy metal band again!
