Seems like a terrible idea. Im not sure if the curators of the museum actually get the concept of art at all. The uniqueness of the real paintings is one of the things that make them precious. Photocopies of them devalue the works. There is nothing like seeing the real thing. Instead of presenting copies of European masters, they should invest in promoting their native talent and see if they can promote masters of their own.
all reproductions? If everyone can touch the artwork Im not expecting it to stay true to the original with dirt and fingerprints over the work! Good idea though but reproductions cant produce the brush-strokes which are extremely important aspects of artists work!
The Japanese Should be aware of the Artist's Hand and Intention existing Behind the image. There cannot be the Human Soul present...just Robots. Too Bad...I would expect this type of thing from the Chinese.
