One of my favourite songs. It's actually an old poem by Charles Kingsley (of water babies fame) and set to this tune in 1857 by John Hullah. I'm always glad that old songs like this still have meaning to people.
i know this is a wierd thing to comment, but i like how pocahontas & john smith were married... ya i dont think ill ever get over them not ending up together. shoutout to canadians (=
This song is done origonally by Stan Rogers, canadian folk singer legend and icon. He does an excellent version as well as his son Nathan Rogers. Glad to see Disney recognized true talent from the remote settlement of Canada, and appreciated the often overlooked musical artists to the North!
i love this song:)

there is a great new version of this tune by Newfoundland folk trio 'The Once'.
It's a little slower than this version which i think is 'The Duhks'
