Actually a lot of Seoul's underground styles are based off American/European underground clubbing scenes. 2NE1 has never had a single ounce of Ganguro culture in them at all. Just...no and I really do mean that in a general way.

If you compare 2NE1 to a lot of the controversial artists both here and in Europe, you'll see a lot of similarities.

Well I guess we'll have to disagree then. While 2NE1 may not be outright ganguro, their fashion was definitely inspired by it. Yes, I see the similarities between 2NE1 and European artists but not 2NE1 and American artists...unless you're referring to the American trifecta of weird wardrobe choices aka Gaga/Katy/Nicki? All of whom were most definitely inspired by Tokyo's Harajuku, Tokyo and ganguro cultures.

I'm merely stating that it is also inspired and heavily based in traditional Japanese drama and arts as well as folklore. As I said before, its all about perspective. From my experiences, 'ganguro' simply reminds me more of Japanese history and tradition than Western fashion.
