Dark Souls is supposed to be harder than demon's souls which sounds fun to me, and i like how there actually is a penalty to dying. It's a Tactical Action RPG. The point of it kicking the player's ass is to encourage the use of your brain for more than press buttons repeatedly. You actually have to think of ways to use your enviroment and items in different ways to succeed

Someones Xbox has been degrading their skills in games. Enjoy paying for your online services by the way. Ours came back up and the only thing we got out of it was a few free games and still didn't have to pay for it like some dumb child who thinks things are better when they aren't free.
They actually said they'd make it even harder....and one level (Castle) is dedicated to having traps in nearly every room, even a treasure chest can just grab and kill you.... I don't mind dying in demon souls but I don't like dying in a game when it just boils down to trial and error...

I loved the difficulty in Demon's Souls, because it trains you the 'hard' way. It makes you die constantly to get better and to be honest? I like it, because it really does make you stronger. If I was to play something like Darksiders and beat it, sure I would be better... but would I be as good as I would be when I beat Demon's Souls? Nowhere near.

I play most of the times online and in most of the games the offline mode is very short and it´s not fun to play again... in old times like some games for ps2... Flamelurker and Man Eater are the only difficult bosses and even then magic and hyper mode can instantly destroy them.

@xCaNu414x You didn't use Fire Storm? You can get it from the Dragon God. It's the easiest boss to kill. There's a video of a guy one shotting Man Eater at SL 66. 2 - 3 well timed Fire Storms can kill a Man Eater if you're not using a mage build. Maneaters are weak to fire and resistant to pure magic. If you're a melee build. You can use hyper mode with a cursed DBS to kill them in 3 hits. You can do this on the first playthrough if you wanted to.
@xCaNu414x Sorry but my PS3 broke down long ago. Also I didn't really try aiming for trophies. I didn't really care for them. I just wanted to see what would be the most fun build to use. My favorite is probably the winged spear and high vitality build.

I find people completely loyal to PC hilarious. If you can spend the money on a decent gaming PC you can easily afford a console too. That way you get a wider selection of great games (most of them don't appear on the PC anyway), it's the best of both worlds.
It isn't that hard to get to your bloodstain and get your souls back after you die. Anyway, there better not be any flippin' checkpoints in Dark Souls! It would be way too generic!

I just bought the greatest hits version of Demon's Souls, I think it sucks. Game play is relatively way too easy. You die for the stupidest reasons and it's like Splatterhouse, if you die, you start all the way at the beginning of a chapter again. WTF?! Where's the check points saves? Atlus is not good at making games, they need to stick to making windows software and not games.
Dark Souls is going to be a birthday present to myself. I honestly hope it kicks my ass harder than Demon's Souls did, because at first that game felt impossible, then it was challenging until you died so much you had a pattern figured out. And after that pattern was figured out something would come along and be all like, "You shall not pass!" and fuck you up. I loved that about the game.
Personally I'm hoping for an option to turn off checkpoints cause the ass whooping just wont be the same.

I platinum'd in Demon's Souls... How does a casual idiot like me platinum in Demon's Souls?
Well, asking people you summon for advice is always good because they know there shit & would probably glitch you stuff.
Having friends to play with in general on it is always a good thing.
If you can't beat a boss look up help on YouTube
This game use to kick my ass getting to the boss & then by the boss but after beating it once I was all set. Can now beat it in around 3 hours

It isn't that hard to get to your bloodstain and get your souls back after you die. Anyway, there better not be any flippin' checkpoints in Dark Souls! It would be way too generic!

I hope in dark souls you can summon a person from your friends list. I hate having to wait for my friends symbol to show up only to be summon by a different person!

I just bought the greatest hits version of Demon's Souls, I think it sucks. Game play is relatively way too easy. You die for the stupidest reasons and it's like Splatterhouse, if you die, you start all the way at the beginning of a chapter again. WTF?! Where's the check points saves? Atlus is not good at making games, they need to stick to making windows software and not games.

Dark Souls is going to be a birthday present to myself. I honestly hope it kicks my ass harder than Demon's Souls did, because at first that game felt impossible, then it was challenging until you died so much you had a pattern figured out. And after that pattern was figured out something would come along and be all like, "You shall not pass!" and fuck you up. I loved that about the game.
Personally I'm hoping for an option to turn off checkpoints cause the ass whooping just wont be the same.

Demon's Souls was amazing. Don't worry about this Drewsdays, Dark Souls is still gonna be hard but they promised checkpoints this time, so dying won't sting as much :p
