For OmegaX2006 = I found the music of the movie.used in the beginning
One of the most famous ariosos was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, and serves as the sinfonia of his cantata, Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe, BWV 156, as well as the middle movement of the Harpsichord Concerto, BWV 1056./ so, this is " Arioso" by J Sébastien Bach played by violoncello
That music used at beginning of this video, It's so beautiful, I've been looking for this for years and years, it's so melancholic, but I love it,What is it's name/title?
I'm scared of any sequel to 'Du Er Ikke Alene'.. It's become one of the most beloved boy love stories of ALL TIME!! A sequel can only tarnish it.. It's just like every time they try and do a remake/sequel to 'The Wizard of Oz' - you can't improve upon perfection! I think the effort would be better spent getting someone to redo the English subtitles for the original film and interviewing the stars for a Criterion DVD release with deleted scenes, behind the scenes footage, etc..
After reading about Denmark I can understand why Anders Agenso ("Bo" in "Du er ikke alene") is in the bicycle repair business. There are more bicycles in Copenhagen than there are inhabitants. That makes it very lucrative business.
@HBMHD Good directing is pointing out the aspects & priorities distinct to the story. "Du er ikke alene" is about the grain of man lost in the stream of his nature. Be it Social Injustice or Sexual Oppression, it's about community as 2 parents, in a strict sense of sad bookend roles. Also then is a practical, inclusive duality community serves, both push & pulling us, from shared love & common lost & found. In "Alone", Lasse lays bare possibilities of people who R Not Alone. Find & Don't Be!
@karmick "Good directing" has a lot of different points of view, too personal, and so, too complex to be something to debate for; that's why i tried to put my own point of view by saying "I still... (blah blah)".
Still what you're talking about is more like the creator's/screenwriter's work more than the director's, because the director not always get to deep into the ideologies of the film, his work is just to add strength to the movie's message and to be clear and in "conveying" it.
Yes, bie-sexual young men need the approval of their parents, not what they get most of the time today. Their mothers so often putting them down to keep them away from men. They want and need men too, at times, and this is a part of their story.
@xxxofnet Thanks for finding your beautiful shaggy-haired blonds and the courage to make such challenging films about them. Few adults wish to think about love between boys but it exists and needs to be recognised.
@xxxofnet Is there any chance to get subs?? I speak portuguese, english, german and french, and I just don't understand a single word from the movie...
I only knew about "You are Not Alone". I see different subtitles here. I always thought the subtitles were off on mine, especially when Kim stands in the shower and rattles off a whole paragraph in Danish, and subtitle says, "sure." Do the other films have subtitled versions, and where can I get them?
Not violoncello, I am sorry, but by guitar

I wouldn't consider Lasse Nielsen as a very good director; i admire his courage and the exploration he makes about human sexuality from the youth.
However, i still like more his movies for their theme, more than their plot.
Direction is decently normal.

It was fortunate that Bent Petersen knew about Peter Bjerg who played the role of Kim in "Du er ikke alene".

For me to make a film has always been a challenge.
After my two first film's 'Lad os vaere' and 'Maaske ku vi'
it was for me a giant effort to make the film
'Du er ikke alene' and after 25 years away from the
film world it was a big big challenge to make a film from Thailand
in another language and culture.

Can anyone tell me what's the song played on the guitar at the beginning of the video? I know that song but can't think about the title ! Thanks
Myrdes 7 months ago
@Myrdes
The song is called "Arioso", it's a Johann Sebastian Bach's work, I think originally composed for cello.

La Grece Antique a ete l'unique societe sincere..
Mais l'etique Judeo-Chretienne a demoli l'ancient ideal de beaute parfaite.
Maleureusement je ne vois pas un retour de l'ame Grec.
Pourtant Goethe a dis que "le retour de l'Encienne Grece est iminent"!
