Of course there are similariities in their voices. Janet has a thin weak voice, but it's pleasant and definitely has that famous Jackson sound to it. Michael's voice was stronger and he had much more range. Since Janet always lyp-synchs, it's nice to see her sing a little Live for us. She was always way more confident in her dancing (which i LOVE) than her singing. Paula Abdul and Brittney Spears are also the same kind of performer.
