  • Great video..very historic..it is generally acknowledged that west fought as terribly the byzantine empire as the barbaric nations coming from the east..they supported at none time christendom on these lands but they cared only how to proftably win money from the riches of the great empire..many are the cituations that the citizens of the empire sold as slaves from the westerners..after the sack of Constantinouple by the crusaders never the empire stood at her feet again..

  • Thank you my friend!

What you wrotte is absolutely truth. Both barbaric nations of east and west wanted to steal, pillage and sell our Byzantine unsestors as slaves in order to win more money.

The also had an inferiority complex to the superior Greek culture and felt hate for the power and glory of the Empire.

If the westerns hadnt destroyed Constantinople in 1204, never the Turks could have could have taken our European provinces.

And without all these attacks (they were many, not only ...

  • ... the 4th crusade) from the west, we could have stabilize the situation in Asia minnor where we used to hold the west and north part and could have eather remained there or even through out the Turks.

The conclution is that the westerns destroyed the Empire and the Turks finished it and todays they both of them try to avoid the unification of all the Hellenic regions (Greece, Cyprus, North Epirus, Monastir, Constantinople and Asia minnor including Pontos)because they still fear of the EMPIRE!

  • Thank you my friend!!!

  • Bravo very good video again!

It is said that the slogan for the sicilian vesper was the italian word "ciceri". Everyone who did not pronounce it correctly was killed (the french had usually a problem with the italian akzent). About 8000 French Soldiers and civilians died in one day (S. Runciman)

  • Thank you my brother, both for your kind words and for the very interesting information you added with your comment that made this video better!!!

  • Thank you very much my dear!

Indeed Michaael VIII Paleologos was probably the best diplomat-Emperor that our 1.100 year Empire ever had.

He used war only when he couldnt use diplomacy.

We remember how he crashed the French in Sisely through the Siselian rebellion...

  • good video the thing is if the catholics were smart they should have left the byzantines alone and just aimed at taking the holyland back from the arabs

  • yes,but they wanted to crush the bad Christians the "heretics" the Orthodox.

  • I would say, without any sign of fanatism, that in Christian religion the one that changes the Holy writs is the heretic and not the one that remains Orthodox...

  • Thank you brother.Indeed, they should because it was both moral, natural (all Christians against the Muslims) and at their own best interest.

But they didn't. I think the most important thing was their jealous because the Byzantine Greeks were much more cultured, they had the superior title of the Roman Emperor, they wanted to still the great wealth and monuments of Constantinople, and while they were the ones that changed the Holy texts (phlioqve, that the holy spirit comes before the Son..

  • ..and the Primacy of the Roman Pontiff) they called the Orthodox Greeks that help the Holy wrights unchangeable as heretics and demanded their destruction!!!

Pope also wanted the destruction of the Empire because he thought that he could easier make the eastern Patriarchates to recognise his Primacy of the Roman Pontiff and as first among all the others.

  • wat makes the catholic religion look bad is that they say the pope is from god or something wen he is elected by people

  • Indeed. And the fact that he claims to never mistake and be the first among all.
