  • Marty Wildes version is much better. Released here on Epic records in 1960. Got a lot of radio play but could not crack top40.

  • i just listened to Marty Wilde's version and it is soooo much better than Robin Luke's. Much more professional. Luke's sounds like it was done in a garage by comparison. I in fact remember this song from when it came out.

  • Why on earth did London not issue this in competition with the Marty Wilde version? It's good enough.

  • Great, thanks! Way better than the Marty Wilde version. Marty couldn't touch Robin Luke with a ten foot pole.

  • @will27ns The guitar is awful - like on many US records from this era except Duane Eddy, Eddy Cochran and the like.

  • it can't beat Marty and the guitar is lame - listen to the original

  • Nice song (great guitar) but his Susie Darlin' was fabulous. Wow - that's great that Robin Luke became Dr. Robin Luke, a university professor. Thanks.

  • Yes, at the University of Missouri I think, head of the Marketing Department there too. :) I wonder if his students know of his recordings. You're right, "Susie Darlin'" is a great song.
