I agree. But, i think it's really rooted into thai society. Nothing against kon lao or khmer. they despise and look down on less fortunate, bahn nok ppl. i think the animosity comes from the fact that thailand is more developed laos. the reason behind it is argumentable. like all western countries look down on undeveloped countries. im from laos and now i live in america. i come from a humble beginning and will always be humble towards other who are less fortunate. hiso has to remember that loso ppl are brothers from blood. the least you could do is have respect. that does not take any amount of money.

I've even encountered Laotians that believe themselves to be superior than any other races, and there's nothing wrong with having pride just as long as you don't go overboard. I am a Thai-American but I have never looked-down on anyone. For those who think they are better than others, well, too bad that they have limited thinking (narrow-minded). My wife is a mixed Laos-Thai so she has the best of both worlds. Those prejudiced people have no importance in your life and therefore just let them be (continued bigoted) and move on to better things in your life. I also know many great Thais and Laos who get along just great. Peace to all.

It's somewhat true and not. I'm thai and white born and raised in Thailand. The Hi-so (high society) thai people do look down on poor people which are typically the people of loas descent. But if you are a poor thai person they tend not to look down on laotians. My family are pretty well off in Thailand and I never look down on laotians or cambodians. I had friends from the isaan province.
