  • Thanks to Gabrielle Christian and her work with SIDS ES, i've been a very happy contributor to this wonderful organisation for 3 years now.. What they do at SIDS ES is amazing, and I'm very grateful i can help in my tiny way.. God bless all those mothers and families, and thank you to SIDS Educational Services.

  • Just to let who ever no who made this video, sence 2005 the rate of SIDS deaths have gone back up!!

  • Please know the definition of SIDS in this video is not entirely correct. The American Association of Pediatrics considers this the accepted definition: The sudden death of an infant under 1 year of age, which remains unexplained after a thorough investigation, including performance of a complete autopsy, examination of the death scene, and review of clinical history.

  • I'm sorry for anyone who has lost a baby to SIDS ~ I'm a SIDS Mom of 30 + years and have read and researched SIDS quite extensively. There is no way to 'prevent' SIDS, just as there is no such thing as 'near SIDS'. The first sign of SIDS is death. While the 'risk reducers' have lowered the #'s somewhat there is still far too many babies dying in spite of parents who have followed those risk reducers. We must find away to determine at birth babies at risk. That can't come soon enough.

  • Check up on Sleep Paralysis... intense nightmares that put people into traumatic shock... a baby couldn't handle that kind of event...

Possibly caused by electro-magnetic activity. Does the rise of SIDS match the rise of laptops/desktops in the home and mobile phones, wi-fi... look into it...

WASHINGTON (Associated Press Scientists have new evidence that the brain chemical best known for regulating mood also plays a role in the mystifying killer of seemingly healthy babies sudden infant death syndrome.

Autopsied brain tissue from SIDS babies first raised suspicion that an imbalance in serotonin might be behind what once was called crib death.

  • Maybe this will be the year for a research miracle. We pray for it.

  • This is very sad I hug my kids every night because I know how precious life is, and that one day it may be cut short. God Bless You All Sorry about your loss.

  • I didn't even know about this syndrome.

    How horrible.

R.I.P. all the babies who have died from SIDS

  • It is also interesting to note that babies are least likely to die in their sleep when they are sleeping in the same room with the parents in a separate bed. I'am not saying this is the cause because their are alot of smoking mothers, but for the babies who die without any cause you have to wounder. Why this happens to some, and not others is unknown. Everything happens for a reason, and maybe some need to find answers in God.

  • I had talked to a woman who had lost three of her children to sids they were not old enough to roll. She did everthing the doctors told her to the babies were on their backs, and she did not smoke. I have reason to believe after research into alot of different religions that these are demonic attacks. In ancient hebrew there is a demon named Lilith that attacks babies while they are asleep and will die without the names of three angels with amulets placed by the beds.

  • Although we don't know everything about SIDs we do know some risk factors that we can control. Putting baby on its back to sleep, avoid second hand smoke, don't keep room too warm, soft fluffy blankets/toys out of bed, & when a woman smokes while she is pregnant it increases the incidence of SIDS by 3 times. So if you smoke while you are pregnant, your baby is THREE TIMES MORE likely to die of SIDS. Smoking while pregnant and then second hand smoke can be a death sentence.

  • I want you to know your not alone!!!! I am here to talk, and I have started a group on myspace for anyone that has been effect by the loss of a child, it's called "Remember me Mommy" please feel free to check it out and share your story.

    You are in my thoughts!

  • uh, be mature.

  • Loss happens every day. Some children are so special they cant stay. For anyone who has lost a child it is heartbreaking, be it miscarriage like I had SIDS, neonatal loss, accidents etc. I feel for the families of these children in this video from SIDS. They do nothing wrong yet feel guilt regardless. Because life is so fragile, not immortal physically we can't stop a loss. But immortal in spirit these darling children are always with you and they love you back.

  • sids is caused by when a baby is taking there nap, they try to roll over all of the way,but they cant so they put there face in there mattress, although murder may be the case, people who lost there babies due to sids, and were not caused by murder are probably not very happy with you for saying something like that.

  • I lost my son to SIDS in January 2007. I found my son on BACK. SIDS is not caused by when a baby is taking their nap, they try to roll over all of the way,but they cant so they put their face in their mattress. It is unexplained !!!!!! Please do not speak of something you know nothing about...

  • I lost my daughter of SIDS one month ago. And also took all the precautions, noone could explain it. It seems like when they have to go they have to go.

And yes, this is something people better get better informed about...

  • I think its cruel of you to say that abotu sids sometimes is murder. While that may be true...parents who've lost a bay to sids are probably looing at these videos to get some understanding or just need somebody who's been through it. Seeing peple type that crap pisses me off...there is a time and a place for everything...and I don't think saying crap like that belongs HERE!!

  • @NonaJay *ahem* You're a fucking retard.

  • True. Some mothers have lost multiple babies and they were all attributed to SIDS but as science advanced, many of these mothers were found to be murderers.

Now there's a thorough investigation of the scene and a very thorough autopsy done on these babies.

"One sudden infant death is a tragedy, two is suspicious and three is a murder, unless proven otherwise."

  • That comment you made is untrue a dear friend of ares lost a baby to sid then lost a 14yr old to sudden adult death they need to do more reserch into the causes. When you loss a child that why the police come stright away and a post mortum is also done 3 children a week will die coz of sids they say sids when they can not find a cause of death with murder they always find the cause ie smuttered plz be aware your comments may upset people who have lost a child.

  • do not start saying that shit

  • This really touched my heart. I would really understand what it would be like to lose a son or a daughter before they even get to the age when their life really begins. I do support this in every way possible, and I wish scientists luck with finding out the causes for SIDS. I am only 15 years old, but I have gone through a lot of tough aspects of life already, so I understand the kind of pain you suffer from losing a loved one.. God bless your hearts, good luck. I love you all.

  • i got SIDS and RSV when i was only two weeks old. i almost died, and the doctors said even if i lived, i may have respiratory system problems. THAT WAS 14 YEARS AGO. i now play soccer and basketball. i have no respiratory problems, and i am very healthy. i consider myself extremely luckey, and so i think that its cool that theres an organization for SIDS now.

  • I'm sorry that you had RSV at all. I know too well what it can do because I've had 2 sons with it. But, you didn't have SIDS. The first symptom of SIDS is a dead baby and you are here, alive and well.

My first son died of SIDS in 1994 and I would never wish it on anyone.

  • You don't GET SIDS, you DIE from it, that's why it's called Sudden Infant DEATH Syndrome.

  • Thank you for postin these facts. My son died of SIDS he has a tribute video on my favorites. I miss him so much and wish I knew why he isn't here. Education is power! Bless you!
