I'm an American who has been living and driving in Tianjin for over 2 years now. This is pretty common, I have even had a few of those drivers come my way while driving many times, most of the time I give them the one finger salute. For the most part around Tianjin traffic rules are pretty much ignored, recently the government has been putting up traffic cameras at every single intersection at a ridiculous rate.
If this is routine in China there's nothing wrong with it, the oncoming traffic will have been brought up to expect it. This kind of Western arrogance sums us up really.
You know what? Chinese drivers would yield to avoid accident!
If in US, the driver would choose to hit, if he got the right of way. Although in many cases, even if you have right of way, lots of accidents would be avoided.
this is nothing. my cab driver stops in the middle of highway by slamming on the brake without any disregard to behind traffic. in this video at least other drivers see you coming.
pretty sure the driver did that purposely to shut u up. Its very distracting to be holding a camera and screaming foreign things next to the drivers ear. Not only are you blocking his mirrors and causing stress to your driver and thus putting your own life more at risk. Next time consider your own actions before ridiculing others. How many people would admit they aren't a good driver? You tell me.
I'm shocked. China has restrictions for the citiziens, limiting the internet, killing people that protest, so on, and they can't even have rules for sane traffic-rules. Why don't they have restrictions for safty, threatning many peoples lifes? It is insane to drive like that.
When I went to Qingdao to visit my grandparents one year, I had a similar incident. I rode a Taxi from the airport, and there were several things that amazed me:
1. No one wears seatbelts since they don't work. More like for decoration.
2. My taxi driver drove into the opposite way of the freeway so he could cut infront of some other cars
3. People were crossing in the MIDDLE of the freeway
woah woah, thats good driving bro..the driver drove on the wrong side of the road without getting yall kill, to me sounds like pro driving..lol
I know yall do that in GTA or w/e video games you play...he just did it in real life thats all...I didnt hear you guys go screaming like crazy, so no big deal.
