  • Any relation to Jack LaRue?

  • Note that Lash La Rue (the good guy) lets the bad guy get up when he knocks him down. Pretty common in old westerns. And the whip; why we ain't seen nothin' like that again until Indiana Jones came along in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

  • The chief baddie is Lane Bradford son of John Merton who also specialized in playing heavies.

  • Great old western!

  • Starting..the baddie with the moustache was Pierce Lyden who wrote several books on Westerns, and I corresponded with him until he died. The heavy set bad guy was John Cason (lefty) whom I met back in March 1959. He was a boxer in "From Here to Eternity" and died in 1961 at 43 in a car accident. I was very lucky to have met so many western actors, and I liked the bad guys as well as the good guys. After all, THEY made the movie good or bad. Thanks.

  • Holy crap he looks like Humphrey Bogart. I love Lash La Rue!

  • Yes, Lash really did resemble Bogie. I just loved him so much when I was a kid watching his movies on our old black and white tv. He was married 12 times, did you know that? The ladies loved the whip!

  • I remember reading that on IMDB and I couldn't believe it.
